The Talladega Win That Ruined a Career

- In the 31st week of the 2021 season, NASCAR saw something unprecedented. During the weekend at Talladega, fans were treated to three brand new winners in each of the series. Brandon Brown’s win, however, went down as one of most infamous wins in NASCAR History. How was that even possible? Brandon Brown winning was one of the most feel good stories we saw in the 2021 season? Why would it become one that NASCAR wants everyone to forget? Well thanks to unfortunate timing, a side reporter mishearing the crowd, and a three word chant, we would see one of the most controversial moments in NASCAR History. This is the story of the “Let’s Go Brandon” Incident.

BY GETTING RID OF FRONT STRETCH INTERVIEWS AND GOING BACK TO BASICS WITH VICTORY LANE INTERVIEW'S
I can't believe they didn't get rid of them after this happened.
@@supertornadogun1690 And then the incident where a fan threw a heavy beverage can at John Hunter Nemecheck in the Truck series after which I suggested the same fix.

What makes me sad is that this whole thing was completely out of Brandon's control. He deserves so much better. I already liked the dude because he helped work on the cars he was racing. I became a certified fan for life after his Talladega win and the whole "Let's Go Brandon" meme.
Your exactly right! NASCAR made a big deal out of it ,when it was the fans who were chanting it and then not approve the bit coin sponsorship! Unbelievable the stuff NASCAR pulls! He can definitely can drive a car! I hope some big company will step up an sponsor! It's a real shame! Turn it into a positive!
Just goes to show that all the "outraged" folks who vowed to quit NASCAR and boycott it and never watch again after the Bubba Wallace garage thing or the banning of the Confederate flag were just all talk and no walk snowflakes. Just like that Truck Series driver ray cicharelli.
Even worse is that far leftists to this day actually have the audacity to blame him. I get that they're absolutely clueless on almost everything, but them blaming Brandon for this is like blaming an abuse victim for their own abuse.
Karma is a bitch
@@irepairofpc31familykartrac51 There's no karma. Brandon did nothing wrong.
Great video. Not enough people talk about how much it affected Brandon himself.
The last interview broke my heart. He never deserved any of this. I hope he finds a good place in life for him to keep succeeding.
To be honest I think the NBC reporter knew what they were saying but NBC was probably on the hot mic demanding her to spin it in a positive light. I think if they went with honesty Brandon would of walked off scot free.
She had no idea. She was wearing noice canceling headphones, cars in the back ground, a director in her ear… all she heard was a chant rhythm and assumed they were saying Let’s go Brandon.
@@jeremysimpson1432 Even if she didn't hear it last time I went to a race (granted it has been going on a decade now) was MiS and there were media and NASCAR crew all over even in the grandstands so I highly doubt no one heard it and radioed into NASCAR or NBC what was going on

The fact that my dad knows this man and his dad, Brandon is a very sweet guy, tried to always be at the shop even when it wasn’t open, to make sure everything was good and help out anyway he can, they even bought a shop in Charlotte/Concord just to be closer to the big teams, it sucks that he isn’t gonna be in the car next season:(
This is a good reason why they should just do victory lane interviews. You watch th entire race and don’t get to see the winner in victory lane. That’s about as dumb as nascars points system
That sucks for him. That team tried hard to get a win with all the obstacles they went through. I don't know if maybe Brandon could've maybe made a statement in nascar interview or Twitter no more then a week after the win and say "Hey fans don't use my name as a political thing" or something and maybe sponsors would not be quick to abandon him. It ain't his fault. It's very unfortunate for him and his crew.
It’s not Brandon brown's fault that his win was ruined
So was his career he just raced his final race in the 68
Amazing how the "Keep politics out of sports" crowd brought THEIR politics into sports and are STILL celebrating that they ruined the career of a small business owner
Those are the same people who vowed to quit following along and watching NASCAR and boycotted it forever after all the Bubba Wallace garage stuff and the confederate flag getting banned. Guess they just showed us how big snowflakes they were, all talk and no walk sensitive birds.
The problem with the "keep politics out" thing is the vagueness of it. Because let's be honest, what even is "politics" anymore? It feels like the answer to that is "everything."

But in the end it was the opposite, lost sponsors and the cryptocurrency turned out to be a scam. Thank you fans for ruining Brandon Brown's emotional win and losing sponsors and his ride for 2023.

This was such a sad story for Brandon Brown, because all the "backlash" should've never affected him personally. The sponsors made very pathetic excuses to pull out of partnership with the team. It was a dumb chant, so why be so sensitive about it? It shouldn't have affected the driver personally. It was a deserved victory on Brown's end. It's really hard for me to see someone like Brandon suffer due to a bad set of circumstances. But what ticks me off is that Vic abandoned the team when they need him the most right now. While i admit the LGB thing was a mistake, the fact that something like Doge Coin once got slapped onto a racecar means it was not a farfetched idea. (Albeit, I can see why NASCAR canned the sponsorship, and I even agree with them not approving it... but you also have to question why NASCAR approved BLM if they want to avoid political topics...)
It's basic economics; if someone is paying more for the same thing, you naturally want to sell it to the highest bidder. I feel like Vic should be very well aware of how a business works, and I honestly feel like it's just an excuse to avoid attachment with a "political image".
I just hope that Brandon can get a sponsorship before his career grinds to a halt. It boggles my mind that he could very well end up being remembered not as the underdog winning against the odds, but instead the icon of a controversy he didn't even start.
