    My dad gave me his 2002 307 SW about 10 years ago... drove it until the clutch gave up for the second time and finally got retired. Wasnt planning to get another one but I seem to have "caught the bug" so now Ive just bought a 2008. Feels good! Hoping this one will deliver as well. :)

    Bought mine 7 years ago for £600 since then replaced clutch, starter, alternator and brake discs, can't drive it out 120000 miles on a 2ltr hdi 90bhp 2001 model. 20 years old and going strong and body work perfect so don't ridicule the 307 just keep up the maintance as with everything. We'll done Peugeot any other car would be in the scrap yard years ago.

      Peugeot are problematic cars the 307 although somehow it was reliable

    • @19jacobob93
      @19jacobob93 15 дней назад

      @mediachannel8044 Quite the opposite overall haha the 307 had a few electrical issues, and they ironed them out with the following models (308 etc.)
      Even the 308 had a few teething issues, but with the 1st gen 308 facelift, they were pretty much as reliable as anything Japanese (as long as you went diesel).
      I've had plenty of Peugeots, all with the 1.9 XUD or 2.0 HDi engines. PSA make some of the best diesel passenger cars in the world and I will die on that hill!

    About the electric problems that i read in the comments, the only problem i got is the cd player. I changed around 4 times but still having problems. Anything else, and perfect suspensions,perfect doors perfect and comfortable luggage and nothing sounds inside the interior.

    Got the 2008 2.0L petrol. Bought it second hand and been driving it for 10 years. Never had any major issues. Electrical all working. Do regular maintenance. Only thing I didn't like was the clutch and flywheel. It was slippery. Had it changed for a exedy and all fixed.

    i just bought one cheap for £180 yes... that's right 180 quid, it's the 1.4 hdi 2002 with 166,000 miles with the 30 quid annual tax, drives great, best 180 quid i've ever spent.... i'll just use it till it dies for that sort of money.

    • @littledistractions
      @littledistractions 8 лет назад

      +streetbass 786 jeez, well done getting it for £180, I'm looking at the 1.6 2001 for £350 but massive downside, its a £270 tax, and it's got no MOT so I'm not sure..

    • @essex1ned
      @essex1ned 8 лет назад

      RandomSarahGrace i couldn't spend £270 on road tax, problem is the 1.6 and 2.0 hdi came with dual mass flywheel and when they go wrong ya looking at around £800 bill including new clutch and flywheel plus fitting, your best bet is to look for a 1.4 hdi with £30 tax a year.

    • @wetlettuce4768
      @wetlettuce4768 8 лет назад

      £270 tax a year for a 1.6.... My car has a 2.4 and I'm only paying £20 more a year on tax.

    • @littledistractions
      @littledistractions 8 лет назад

      Wet Lettuce I'm assuming it's a newer model? I know someone who has a car from this year and also only pays 20 quid on tax.

    • @wetlettuce4768
      @wetlettuce4768 8 лет назад

      RandomSarahGrace
      It's a 2002 Volvo S80 costs £295 tax a year so for a 1.6 car to be taxed £270 is just crazy.
      Even worse my previous Jaguar XJ with a 4.0 V8 only cost £235 becuase it was registered before 2001

      I had a 1.6 petrol 2007 and sold with 50k kilometers and have a 2011 C4 1.6 petrol by now and the only problem I see is the high fuel AND oil consuption in both cars and specially in C4, suspension noise and the electric windows in the rear doors that sometimes work slowly. Minor problems reagrding I bought the C4 second hand for a price about 20% below a Ford Focus in the same equipment level. C4 is 110k kilometers today.

      I think its depends on where you live and where you park your car. I live in a dry and hot environment and park indoor so car been going great since I've bought it in 2008. No major electrical issue except there's a short on one of the tail light and it was fixed easily but soldering it. Other than that, no electrical issues. Only thing I've changed on this is the clutch and the timing belt. The water pump and everything else still going strong. Suspension still good too.

    • @rexxo2844
      @rexxo2844 Год назад

      Same... as a owner of 2 of these, first bought in 2012 with 166 000 miles, beside DPF filter and one clutch replacement, no issiues, ran until 280 000 then got totaled by some idiot on while parked on the side of the road. Bought a second one this year, more powerful engine 100kw. With 140 000 km, did basic oil change, changed one electrical part that was faulty on turbocharger, costed 25€. And it runs like a dream, I bought it already with professional sport suspension, now it has even better handling then original, and lots of power for hooning down the roads. From reading these comments it truly 50/50.. some hate it some love it. Depends on experience with car. In my experience its comfy, fuel economic hatchback, that still to this day looks decent on the road specially with few tasteful mods. Kinda suprised how bad experience do some people have with the car. I agree it depends on how you treat the car, or sometimes it might be luck when buying that you dont get " lemon ". Im taking car care very seriously, thats why it probably translates to the condition of my car, visual, but also mechanical. None the less, feel bad for people with bad experiences, hopefully they already found their favorite car in some other brand, at the end of the day its like this with everything not just cars.

Was purple, 17 inch alloys 2.0 HDI 136hp 3 doors, but I had lots of problems with the seats, electronics as well the particle filter thing till the point that by 80.000 kilometres I had 2 installed already. 750€ on Peugeot at the time... Every months bulbs gone etc ... Engine was reliable fast and economical to run but I got bored of the many problems in that particular unit... I had to wait for 8 months to deliver it because the specs etc. Love it but hate it too... So just because you can't face me ... Don't disrespect people calling crappy... Then on my Island Peugeot garage didn't have much knowledge about that engine so the service was not good enough every time I took it for the guarantee... Which variant did you have?

The car is a complete liability and ive spent a fortune trying to maintain it. My mechanic thinks the car is haunted!! Terrible car!!
