    Its worth noting that you can also use the armour limitations section to restrict mod costs. If you don't want expensive mods like resilience recovery or intellect use the bars to show that your armour already had 7 energy used, that way it can only apply mods that cost 3 or less energy. That section isn't just for limiting armour to raid armour.

    • @TheSplunger

      With the new mod system I have even limited some armour to only 1 energy for stat mods so that I can use the new armour charge mods. It's worth it when some of the armour charge mods give +30 stats while active

    just FYI for anyone wondering, at 13:46 "usually as you tend to go down the list, the mods get less energy efficient" that's because he has it sorted at the top as "Used Mods" which sorts the builds based on overall mod cost.

    Here’s a tip as well: for the in game load out system, if you want to be flexible with your weapons, grab random blues from collections, make the load out with them, and then dismantle them afterwards.

    • @SirCamWA
      @SirCamWA Год назад +54

      To expand on this and explain what this does:
      Basically, if Destiny 2 doesn't find that specific item (like it was deleted) then it'll say "Item cannot be found" for that slot. So, when applying the loadout it will not do anything for those slots that are empty and keep whatever you have currently equipped in that slot.

    • @christoffer5875
      @christoffer5875 Год назад +17

      bigbrain move now i can actually be bothered using loadouts

    • @PremiumShiny
      @PremiumShiny Год назад +4

      Likewise, you can also set up hotswaps for mods in your armour, like reserves in your chest, with blue legs that youll delete so that it wont mess with your surge mods if youve already set them up beforehand
      The way i have it is a raid loadout with missing legs and weapons, which i would then swap to another loadout that has a reserves chest and surge legs with matching heavy weapon. Change heavy if necessary then rally, then switch back to the raid loadout, which will now give you back your original chest, whilst keeping your heavy as well as the surge mods

    • @cykeok3525
      @cykeok3525 Год назад +2

      This is a really great tip!
      So we can make loadouts with "gaps" on certain slots where the loadout system will not touch that slot at all, by filling in a blue piece, and then deleting it?
      I guess I can also make loadouts that swap specific armor pieces (and mods on them) without touching my weapons by putting in blue weapons and deleting them too?

      Most reliable way is with focusing emgrams for high-stat armor at the seasonal vendors in the helm.
      If Pit of Heresy is on rotation that week, farm the final boss checkpoint, the armor is guaranteed to have 2 large spikes which you need for triple or quad hundred builds.
      For artifice armor, you'll want to farm Caiatl on master during the week it's in rotation.

As far as I've seen through using close to 30 engrams trying to roll a better arms for my warlock to get triple 100s the new war table armour is absolutely atrocious. I've got plenty of sub 60 Stat totals, and I actually don't think the discipline mod is working correctly with it bc the stat distribution has seemed extremely spread out. Yeah I do get at least 10 in discipline, but I haven't seen a single piece drop with a single Stat even in the 20s yet so just a heads up for people before they spend all their engrams that the new war table armour might not be the move.

    I don’t pay to much attention to builds like I did in D1. But I will say some of the exotic weapon+armor combos can effectively negate having to put anything in a stat.
    For example, Monty Carlo + Insurrmountable Skullfort on arc titans means you don’t need to worry about melee.
    Actium War Rig + Sweet business and 3 kinetic siphon makes intellect not needed as you can get 40+ orbs in a strike.

    DIM does exactly the same thing. I could never understand why I need another tool when DIM does it in-house and I can even have it calculate that with all of the mods while simultaneously completing said build and saving it.
    D2AP does a great job, it just does the same job I do in DIM with Optimizer.
    The reason for the preference is that your mod setup can change the armor based on what's available. If you need to use 9 of your spots on mods before a stat mod, you want it to try and find an artifice armor for that slot so you can at least get a +3 and that opens up options. D2AP doesn't take into account the armor and weapon mods which can greatly affect the armor pieces you need for an optimal build.

    I love the UI for D2 Armor Picker, but one thing that DIM has that it doesn't is the ability to lock down any legendary slots. As a more casual player, I don't have as much freedom to MW tons of gear, so for example, my first builds tried to optimize by picking an exotic, and then trying to get builds where I can use a different exotic and just one other armor piece, meaning that I only needed to MW two exotics and 4 legendaries (plus class item). IIRC, I had two leg pieces that were either disc or str-focused, while the head and chest had even disc/str stats (FYI, I had three arm-exotics that I used regularly and no others, so this worked out well). This was much easier to do in DIM.

    I know you said this in your new mod menu video, but if you or a teammate can reliably generate orbs of power, the "font of (stat)" mods give you +30 in the stat, so if you have the capacity to spare, going for the mods that give resilience, recovery, and/or intelligent can be more beneficial than spending x3 +10 of the stat mods, along with using armor charge mods to increase the time.

I’ve been hunting around the current build videos and one thing seems to be missing in most of them… stats in the game are… hard to follow. So my question is what total value of stats is considered a good piece? At this point I’ve seen anything from 46 points on some gear I’ve gotten up to 67 points. That’s without a stat boosting mod. I guess I’m just wondering what a good value actually is? Is 67 bad if it’s only around 12-15 points in every stat? Am I hunting for pieces with even higher than the 67 I’ve found so far?? And how do I get high stat gear? I’ve invested into a war table upgrade that allows me to get high stat seasonal gear, and that’s the only place I see anything higher than 62 points. How much of a single stat is good? My friend said he heard 24 is the max base value of any singular stat, but I have no idea if that’s accurate.

    Datto can you make a video about what armour mods effect what ability. Like with Strand, does something like impact induction or momentum transfer work with grapple/grapple melee? Strand has made mods confusing because of how indirect a lot of the killing is, like consuming your grenade to suspend enemies or having your threadlings get the kill.

    So I've got a question about armor rolls to help builds. Should I be looking for armor with moderate spikes (say 15-20 res, 10 recov, and a similar split in dis/str) or heavy spikes (30 res, 30 dis, with 2 in all other stats)?

    • @_stonhinge
      @_stonhinge Год назад

      It varies. All depends on whether or not your other armor pieces have enough stats to make up for the spikes, or whether the build you're going for has need of the stats that are spiking more than other stats. If you've got armor with huge RES spike, you don't necessarily need as much on your other pieces. But if your other pieces also have huge RES spikes, you're going to have some wasted stats.
      I tend to hold on to the huge spike pieces just for the novelty, but if I'm not using them in a build, I think about tossing them towards the end of a season - if only to make room for the new season's stuff.

    Resilience is only stat you should have maxed out , in all circumstances . Everything else can be debatable , but resilience can't as T7 and T10 can mean difference between life and death, as you don't always have wowen mail or armour charge ready to go

    Im starting to feel like datto is a good place to learn how to be a good d2 influencer but a the same time teaching you how to be humble and deal with learning the most taxing parts of the game. Build crafting.
    Edit: I cut my self off.. hahaha... build crafing is the best thing, but can be difficult. And should be something that you should figure out yourself. I find influencing us as the community is super beneficial but I just wanted to remind people to find their own way. Before spending to much time listening to mainstream....
    And to end off that this a good video.

    Every build recommendation vid I ever watch says "Hunter need to care about mobility", and nothing more on the topic. What does that translate to for actual stats? I usually try for around 70, unless I have something giving me lots of mobility/dodge energy like arc amplification. Is that enough, too much, too little? It feels like this is something I am just expected to know, but never really learned.

    I have a question about the new loadout system. Do you need to have multiple sets of armor for each load out or can you just use one set and just swap the mods to fit solar, void, raid, pvp etc.? AND can you also change the ornaments/shaders on the armor without causing any problems?

      It works like you think it does. Keep in mind the fragment bonuses or penalties. All mod setups and even cosmetics save to the loadout slot. It’s not one setup per armor piece. I have three different builds with hoimol. They all have different mods and cosmetics but share the same armor.

    Which app is better for what use? Are they pretty much equal for everything? Is one easier to use? Does one offer features the other can't replicate? To me, Armor Picker just seems like a more PITA, compliated version of DIM.

    • @_stonhinge
      @_stonhinge Год назад

      d2armorpicker lets you have more control on maximizing stats. With DIM, you have to add in stat mods manually to hit tiers. d2armorpicker will automatically take stat mods into account when showing you the totals.
      You can tell DIM to show you armor with 100 RES/100 DIS and it initially won't show you the optimum. You'd have to add in the stat mods without knowing what combination would be "best". d2armorpicker will show you exactly what stat mods you'd need to slot for a given armor set. With RES/REC costing 4, you'd have more flexibility with combat mods by choosing and armor set that uses fewer RES/REC mods.
      d2armorpicker is best used in addition to DIM, it's not a replacement. It's like a much more specialized version of DIM's loadout optimizer.

  • @frauasyl
    @frauasyl Год назад

    Ik this video is kinda older now but I hope some people see this comment as they're passing by.
    If you are building heavily into a stat for a build and don't know if you want to go 100 or not to get the most out of cooldown effects, remember that your abilities are going to cooldown mostly from your perks rather than your stats.
    But also, do your own research and testing to see if the effects you're making use of even scale off of your stats! I'll list some examples. HOIL for instance, cares alot about your base stats because it's a decrease to the cooldown time. Just as so, anything that says "reduces your cooldown" scales off of your cooldown stat.
    But then you have effects like melee Kickstart or ionic traces, that give flat amounts. They give a percentage amount of energy to your abilities, and thus are not affected by your stats.
    And another thing, in terms of your class stats, I would not suggest that you go 100 in any stat like resilience, recovery, or mobility unless your build is going to make use of the stat for multiple effects. So for instance if you're a warlock playing broodweaver with a threadling build, your rift is valuable because it creates and launches threadlings. It's also your only source of survivability. And while you do want resilience, a lack of constant healing makes your health mean less overall. So you want a healthy amount like 70 resilience to get that 20% DR, and 100 recovery to maximize natural health regen and rift uptime.
    For my main build, which is a stormcaller fallen sunstar build, I went for 30 mobility, 70 resilience, 100 recovery, then 60 for the other 3 stats. My reasons were that amplified makes you move and jump at a flat amount regardless of your mobility so the stat matters very little. 70 resilience because, like broodweaver, I have very few sources of health regen that doesn't get interrupted by enemy fire. I also already have one source of damage resistance, being spark of resistance. So 20% is a good place to sit at. 100 recovery for MANY reasons. While yes I do get flat percentile regen from ionic traces, I also get regen that scales off of my stat from my arc soul aspect. That aspect also makes my rift invaluable to give me arc souls, which keep a constant flow of traces coming from killing trash mobs. I also use orbs to keep myself alive while on the move. Primarily with the better already mod which activates your natural health regen, scaling off of your recovery stat.
    For my other 3 stats, I didn't care too much about strength and discipline because of the fact that traces are how I'm going to get them. And they get the same energy regardless of my stats. However I did want them to have decent cooldowns in the event that I hit an enemy drought, or am in a situation with harder targets and no trash mobs. For intellect, I went for 60 because while stormcaller's supers are weak, they won't always be. And, a little known fact, jolt gives super energy when damaging targets in the same way as weapon fire. So jolting an enemy creates a steady stream of super energy. This scales off of your intellect stat, so I wanted a decent intellect stat. This is also helpful because my primary doesn't give much super energy for damage. Since I use a bow.
