First great video keep up the amazing work 👍. 2nd the 2021 and the 2022 USA model do not auto change lanes with the software 3.1 as it's missing some side sensors. 3rd 2021 and 2022 since no side sensors don't have parking assist. 4th the lane keep assist is able to keep you a little to the right, center or left depending on how you set it too.
It's really simple. While you are driving with the system on, just hold the wheel just a bit to either right or left. It will seem a bit hard to do it. Hold it there for a sec or two and it will stay there. Until a curve or something else alerts it, or till you move it back. Takes a few tries but once you get used to it it's easy.
I use all of those features daily on my ID.4 and the only one that bugs me is the alerts because I often drive with only one hanf. However, I have learned a quick trick, give a gentle tug of steering wheel and it will go away. It would be nice to adjust the sensitivity. Nevertheless, I leave it on because it just might save my life one day 😇 thanks and God bless
I use travel assist all the time but never knew what the white little arrows on the side of the lanes meant. Thank you for letting me know! I get frustrated when Lane changing assist works inconsistently but now I know why that may be. I don't necessarily wait for the white arrows to show up.
Lane Keeping Assist. You said it keeps you centered between the lanes. Mine drifts between lanes like a bumper car. I was checking it out at dusk on a local highway and got stopped by the police for suspected drunk driving! I took it to my local AutoNation VW dealer and listed as a discrepancy on the work order. Their corrective action was that works as intended. The Maintenance Manager said that I shouldn’t expect it to keep centered. That it’s only a warning to keep you from going out of your lane? Does this seem right to you? Does your car drift between lane lines when using lane assist? I have an ID.4 Pro S AWD.
Lane Keep Assist with Travel assist active should keep you centered in the lane or which ever lane position you have selected. Did you have travel assist turned on? I have driven thousands of miles with travel assist and lane keep assist and have never had ping ponging. You always need your hand on the wheel, but the car keeps me locked in what ever lane position I chose. The only time might be around big curves, it is possible for it to disengage. Hope that helps! Keep me posted!
@@theaverageev, thank you. I"m not sure if I had Travel Assist on at same time I Lane Keep Assist on. I"ll try that next time. Thank you for your videos. It's fascinating how social media has fused with new car technology. Videos like yours have become an integral part of the learning curve for new EV drivers. Imagine an EV universe where there was no RUclips!!! LOL.
I’m going to be honest I don’t know. I always have lane centering on. I would imagine it needs to? But I don’t know for sure. I will test it and report back.
Any idea how to activate this ? I never got three lanes in my cockpit screen? Any certain programming? Does it require navigation to be working as navigation is not avilable for my car present in diffrent country than origin country.
I’m pretty sure it use roads that are mapped out. So it is likely that you might not have the maps since your car is not in the country of origin? That’s my best guess!
What model year do you have? As long as you have software 3.0 and later you should have this feature. When you go to drivers assistance features (where you see the image of the ID.4 on the road on the infotainment) you can turn it on there. I like to go to the list view instead of the car view because it is easier to navigate. To activate it you need to have travel asset turned on, be on a multilane road and the you need to hit the Set button for CC/Travel Assist. That is when you should hopefully see the white arrows pop up!
Hello! IQ drive does not use more battery! So enjoy it! The biggest factors for range are speed, weather, wind (I know it is technically a part of weather, but it is a big deal), and AC use. There are many other factors, but these are the biggest. Speed affects range in an exponential way, so keeping a reasonable speed is the best way to preserve range! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Yikes! I’ve never had a bad experience with it. What was your distance setting? I usually have it on 3. I don’t trust stuff like that so I typically take over when things get tight or slow down.
I had it set to the close distance as it was stop and go traffic. 5 fwy at 3pm in california. I noticed issues after an update prior to the accident I took it in and was told the car was not autonomous. I really wish I had bought tesla. Their interiors are garbage but in the past I heard their highway programming was O.K.
That sucks, sorry. I have not had issues, but I don't trust any autopilot system, especially when coming to a stop. I actually did not enjoy autopilot when I drove a Model 3. My 2015 Model S is even worse, but it's not fair for me to judge based on my experiences in that car!

Thanks I couldn’t figure out how to adjust lane position. Could you explain that! Thanks!

I've been trying to figure out how to use lane change assist. It looks like I was pushing the stock too hard. Thanks for the explanation.
Glad I could help!
Love your videos! Does it have autopark?
ID.4 does! That is coming in the infotainment video!
Thanks a lot. Can auto park be added to an ID4 through updating the software.
It’s cannot! The 2021s did not have the sensors necessary for the auto park function.

You have to enable travel assist in order for it to center the car in the lane
VW offers a lot for the money! Will these features come standard on the 2023 model?
They are standard as of now! I think they will always be standard!
Just curious if lane-centering has to be active before lance-change assist can be activated.

@@theaverageev 2023 , I'll check today. Thanks
If you use Driver Assist, will it move you aside, away from danger? Or will it park in the lane?
Hello! As far as I am aware it will stay in whatever lane position you set it in. I do not believe it will adjust if a car comes into your lane.
Thank you! @@theaverageev

Is this systems better then the hyundi's
I have never used the HDA 2. But believe HDA2 has more features than the ID.4. As for quality I can’t speak on that!
Mine drove itself into the car in front. 6 months in the body shop.

I presume the car is reading the painted lines, right? In WA State, especially after winter, painted lines can be quite faint especially at night.
That is my assumption, yes!
That s it read Line in case if rain. Sun hé may bé blond for a when that s What i gestes this week

I have to pay $6k to do this on my Model Y. 😢
It is a nice standard feature of the ID.4!
