I've been enjoying your content! Our family just brought home an 8 week old GSP. First time ever owning one and I'm already in love! He's such an intelligent dog! Thanks for these helpful videos!
Your videos are all so helpfull! I'm following you for about two years. In the mean time we got a puppy, dalmatian. He's now 9 month old and with help of yours videos, aswers on my questions sent to Kat by meil and dog school we are visitin, he's developing great. Thank you very, very much and best greatings from Slovenia 😁
Hello, been following for awhile and your vids are very well put together easy to follow! One question do you have any videos about training a older 4,5,6 year old dog? Is it basically the same process as for a pup? I would imagine it’s more difficult re teaching good behaviors.. once again awesome videos and happy new year!!!
Thank you so much for this useful advice. we have our 12wks old German shorthaired pointer for 3 weeks, and I do make him sit and wait for my approval to start eating, but I haven't been using the clicker. But my dog is still on 5 small meals a day.... 🙈 What age is the dog in this video?
Oh my goodness - was he just not the sweetest little boy in the world!! I wish I found your videos when or before i brought my gsp girl home. You mention something in this video about addressing jumping. I have also seen another video where Clay is a couple of weeks older and he does absolutely everything except jump up on you to get his food. My girl is now a year old and jumping up on me and other people is still something we struggle with - is there another video where you show and address jumping up specifically or is the advice you would give the principle of moving into the dog when they are jumping?
We are picking up two English Lab littermates in a few weeks. We plan on crate training them both. What's you opinion on keeping them in separate crates? I see a lot of videos on how to crate train puppies, but not a lot on crate training two puppies at once. Should they sleep in separate crates in separate rooms, or keep them together to start with? Any information or opinions would help this novice dog owner.
Weird question…What type of cups do you use? We started training our GSP puppy and found it time consuming and distracting for him using the cups we have or grabbing from a small bowl. Also do you recommended a certain type of collar to prevent them from choking themselves while they learn not to pull?
How and when would you start this for a puppy you are keeping from your dam’s own litter? No travel stress, already use to the home, etc? Thanks for any advice!!
Thank you for all the great content!! My wife and I are getting a Brittany in the beginning of the year and we look forward to training her in parallel with clay! Quick question, would you still feed a Brittany large breed puppy food or would you use the medium breed food? It seems like large breed puppy food is more readily available than the medium breed puppy food.
I just got my gsp puppy will be 8 weeks come January 4th and I've been trying to charge the clicker for two days now and something ain't jiving could be user error any suggestions.
What clicker do you guys recommend, i just got 2 gsp sister puppies and training will start in a little over a month. I would love love know what clicker you use
Obviously you take advantage of feeding time to condition and shape behaviors you want in a puppy and that this is something you do for a couple of months or so by what I'm seeing in the handful of videos I've watched so far. My question is whether there is a time you stop making the puppy earn each kibble and shift to having them work for their food but give them their entire meal once they've demonstrated an understanding and compliance with what you are asking them to do? If so, when do you shift to giving them their entire meal and away from one kibble at a time?
Hey! My dog is a 2-year old Australian labradoodle. He was supposed to be a mini, but he’s 37 pounds and the normal mini is 25-30. I’ve heard before that when they neuter them young it causes them to get bigger. Is that true? Also, I can never get him to heel! He likes to pull you when especially when there is a squirrel! Any tips on getting him to behave? He listens to me all the time except for pulling. He’s a good dog and is friendly as can be, but he just can’t restrain himself when there is a squirrel or another dog. He just has to say hi and then u have to plant your feet against the ground and use your full weight to stop from being dragged over there. I’ve even tried keeping treats in my pocket since he LOVES treats, but it still doesn’t work! I need suggestions!
There is no breed standard as a labradoodle is not a actual breed so a mini labradoodle does not have a set size or look. Spaying early may actually do the opposite and not let your dog fully develop.
I trained my 9 year old chihuahua with a clicker starting at age 5. First step is to teach that the clicker means “treat” so continuously do a click then immediately give a treat. Then you can use simple command like “sit” then click and reward
Statistically and scientifically speaking no. Clickers are proven to help train 50% faster than without. that’s not about having to be faster. It’s about showing the power of clarity clickers provide dogs. Verbal praise is also extremely beneficial and should be used in training.
Very helpful. I’d like to know where I can buy this click. Also do you feed the puppy like that twice a day? For how long do you have to keep doing like that?
4 days in and i’m working on target here with my 7 1/2 week old gsp. use the clicker and she picked up quick. wondering do you kennel them if they don’t take the meal?
How exactly is the "food" "engineered" so the puppy does not "grow too fast"? Why not just feed the real food and let them grow according to their genetics? What are they actually putting in the food? do you even know?
Imagine, we take the time to teach personal responsibility to a puppy while encouraging victimhood with our children. Great dogs and fucked up children. Love the video hate the implications. I'm thinking high carb training of our children?
If nothing is free the dog will always be anxious and thus competitive against other dogs. Trust doesn't work like that. Rewarding good or expected behaviour is fine. But even going as far as saying this "includes water".... Lost me right there. Horrible mindset - great for gulag commanders however.
I’ve had 5 dogs on a slippery floor and it’s more of a puppy thing than it is a floor thing. None of my dogs had any joint issues and they learn to walk on it quite easily
Can’t wait to start our training. My wife bought a clicker yesterday now we’re waiting to pick up our pup!
Years later this is still awesome. Your channel and some others has really helped my puppy be just awesome
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the positive feedback and being a fan of our content! Glad your puppy turned out awesome!

Thank you so much!!!
Getting a lab in a few month, thanks for this series
Love the videos!! Picking up my first bird dog pup in January a German wirehaired pointer and I hope to follow your training guidelines!!!
Update us on your dog! I was looking at getting a wirehaired pointer myself really curious how they are!
Great stuff! Working through this now with Penny

What brand food do you feed your pups again?
What age should a GSP Male pup start training with clicker?
This is my first GSP
When training 2 puppies do you suggest separating them and training at different times?
Thank you, nice way ... i love it

When you say two cups a day do you mean the size of cup you have in your hand or like a measuring cup? TYI
Whatever the amount that is recomended for the type of dog food you are using

I’d like to know this as well how long do you do the hand feed vs the entire meal. Thank you!
Great video!!! my puppy is 9 months is it too late to start clicker training?
Never too late I clicker trained fosters

Isn't it better to praise the dog using your voice instead of the use of the clicker

first comment ?
You are!!!
why clicker ?
It marks and ends the behavior consistently instead of verbal praise which can change easily.

Where’s your successful dog training channel?
I hate that you have a puppy on a slippery floor like that not good for their joints and hips
I’ve had 5 dogs on a slippery floor and it’s more of a puppy thing than it is a floor thing. None of my dogs had any joint issues and they learn to walk on it quite easily
Go away.
I hate that you’re still alive.
