This song is best played with headphones. The impact of hearing "I put this moment here" in literally different places through your ear is the most surreal musical experience. Pure genius!
Agreed - the drums sound immense and I never realised the "Over here.." features in this and at the beginning of Waking the Witch until hearing through really good quality headphones. Had the album 30yrs before I really clocked the brilliant little things like that. Then again I straight up never realised she is lying with two dogs on the album cover until last year. Really thought she was just laying down with her hair splayed out wearing a fur shawl type thing around her shoulders then for some reason a thousand pennies dropped and I went "Wait - are they dogs??" 30-odd years that took me to figure out. Ah well never mind in my defence; I'm Irish 😅

Always loved this song for some reason, it has both sad and uplifting qualities which is a rarity anyway, but have to say that this video is absolutely incredible! Only seen it for first time today and can't stop replaying it now ♥️ It gives the song a new whole lease of life! Top marks 👍🤩

The whole side B resonated with me. I'm just recovered from narc abuse and it seems my tribe of survivors has taken to Kate Bush, probably because she's the muse of so many emotionally vulnerable, sensitive and quirky people, the preferred target of the narc. This is best of a noble bunch. I wept happy and sometimes astonished tears through your epic, and, heh, when the young musician stops the column of water, I was ... floored ... in the best way possible. Great video...The Jig of Life is one of my favourite Kate Bush songs...she is so unique... you cannot hear any musical influences in her music. :)

this song gives me chills...real ASMR! and the end jig is absolutely fantastic, it got me into traditional Irish music.
Yeah kates mam is Irish she was an Irish dancer too so Kate and her brothers would have heard all those trad jigs reels the Irish folk music griwing up. She recorded some of the Sensual world album the song of course inspired by James Joyce Ulysees in Dublin.

i know that it is impossible to choose a favourite Kate Bush song,but if i had a gun pointed at my head,i would choose this unbelievable track.it has so much going on and lifts you to a higher plateau when you hear it done in the majestic pastiche that every Kate fan knows as The Ninth Wave.there is and always will be only one KATE BUSH.
