Thank You for the Mention, you are correct our bag is Considerably more money, but what you get is a Lifetime Warranty, not just hoping it lasts 2-3 years, and ours is made from Vinyl so it will never fade, I do like your idea of maybe dividing the main pocket in two, we may try that out, good review

We tied a construction trash bag to our spare for years before we finally got a trasharoo. It tidys up the look compared to what we did before. It has proven handy to haul in firewood and then trash on the way out.

As I have no spare tire on the back of my Forester - and have lift hatch rather than a swing tailgate - I've got no way to use one of these, for the moment. :-( I'm grateful when I'm out with friends who do have them, as trash management gets tricky in my little car on multi-day overland trips. I *always* take advantage of my friends' Trasharoos (or equivalent product) and if I ever end up building a custom bumper/rear mounted spare, one of these will definitely go on there.

thank you for your fair review! picking up a tire carrier for my 4runner and definitely picking one up for trash, laundry and perhaps some firewood but have a cargo box for it that has been useful.
My Trashroo faded quickly and then the nylon ripped without overloading it. I emailed the company about it 3 times. They responded once, and I never heard from them again. I do like the functionality of it, the MOLLE straps and pouches, but it just doesn’t last. Next time will pay more for something that lasts.

However, I am not sure it will last another trip. Having said that it has served me really well over the past 3 years. I do think I will try another bag out next time around mostly for testing purposes. As I mentioned in the review most of the other more premium bags are 3 or 4 times more expensive which means I could replace this with a new one every few years and the premium bag would have to last close to 10 years to get the same bang for the buck. I have never had to reach out to them, I am disappointed to hear you had a bad customer service experience. Let me know what you get and how you like it! That might help guide my next purchase.
I just found a link for a G.A.R.B. spare tire bag. I am waiting for the company to restock the black bag. The O.D. green bag looks pretty cool too. It is expensive, but they have metal clips and made from stronger material. Cheers and happy trails...
@@BackroadExploration Just bought the GARB bag after my trasharoo disintegrated, literally I could push my finger through the material. I have the 5lb Propane tank bag from www.adventuretrailgear.com who makes the GARB and it is ROCK SOLID! I hope the GARB lives up to my expectations.

Thanks for watching! My old one finally gave up the ghost so I am looking at what to do next. I have not done a walk around yet. I’d like to add a few more things first. As for the rear bumper or was in the Jee when I bought it. It’s a low quality Chinese bumper that I do not recommend it’s been a pain (the carrier portion) for a while now.
It seems to me that most of the stuff that people put in those is something that could easily fit in their rig or in the storage they have elsewhere on the rig already. It's become more of a "Well other guys use this so I gotta look cool and get one too" type of thing. Most places I do my off roading (Idaho,Montana etc) this would be a great way to invite a bear to jack up your rig or lure them into camp. Also, why not just use an old backpack from a thrift store for a few bucks to do the same thing? Seems like a gimmick to me. The guy that invented it lives a city over from us.. .cool dude. OH as far as a "liner" just put a glad bag in that thing.. .done and done. We just keep large freezer bags from when I marinade meats... I rinse them out then store them for trips, poopy diapers and trash gets shoved into those then thrown out when we reach civilization. No logo bag on the back of the rig needed.
Thanks for your input. While I agree there is a lot of gear out there that rarely gets used and is more for looks or "fitting in" than practical use, I do not feel the Trasharoo is one of them. I like the backpack idea and even thought of that myself however the Trasharoo is much bigger than a traditional backpack. Additionally finding one that can strap around a 35in tire would be tough without fabrication. Keeping diapers out of the rig alone is worth it for me. I have used the zip lock method inside the Land Cruiser and hated it Toddler poops are pretty potent. We bag em and put it in the Trasharoo and that seems to work pretty well. I’ve been putting a vinyl water proof bag in for our dirty clothes it works pretty well.

I love using it to pack in firewood especially when are headed into the desert where gathering wood is tough. How long have you had yours?

@@BackroadExploration gotcha! I just bought a 2020 JL back in May and have been making upgrades to it ever since.
Love the JL. The interior is so nice and the transmission makes a world of difference compared to the JK.
@@BackroadExploration yeah I love the transmission but when the time is right I plan on upgrading to a centerforce dual friction clutch.
