Thanks Erin, we've had an amazing time together and we're happy (and sad at the same time) that James is starting this next exciting chapter in his career :)

The magic of Sorted isn't the food or the recipes or the skills. It's the genuine friendships that come through very clearly in the videos. There's a real sense that they are all having fun hanging out with their friends and, oh by the way, getting paid for it. I'm sad to see James leave but I actually feel worse for the rest of the team at Sorted because they're losing a friend not just a chef.
They're not losing a friend. James will still be their friend even if he doesn't work with them anymore. They're not going to stop being friends, are they? It is just lonely that we won't get to see James in the channel anymore. But good luck with his new endeavor! We'll miss you James! Stay ginger.

I can’t wait to see James return and show everyone how much he’s grown. Cheers Mr. Currie all the best and happy cooking, Chef.
I wouldn’t want to take sides in this final Chef vs. Chef battle, but let’s just say if one of the chefs was a bearded ginger Scot about to say goodbye before departing to take on a new challenge, I think I’d probably vote for him. Farewell Mr Currie, and hope to see you back on the channel soon!
Ben: "I haven't done a rosoto in 2 years." Also, Ben: Leader of the pass-it-on that pigeonholed the normals into making risotto. Also, Ben: Made risotto in the pressure cooker test video. Also, Ben: Chose risotto to test the only successful automatic stir machine.
I love how everyone was celebrating but you could see and sense the sadness that James is leaving the show. The whole video came across very well and it was a lovely final video for him. You guys are great friends.
I've been watching Sorted since the era when James was called in only to open stubborn jars or made Scottish jokes. It's been such a pleasure to see him become a part of the central on-camera team. Thank you for all the humor and good cooking, we'll miss you loads James!
I have *not* been around that long and did not know about either the jars or the Scottish jokes... but in retrospect, I did notice one part in this episode where James was in the background and seemed to be mustering all of his strength to open a jar. It was probably just a fortuitous coincidence, but still perhaps a meaningful reference to his earliest appearances. :)
James winning with a truly inventive dish pretty much sums up all he's given to the channel over the years as a development chef. Good luck with the next step! They're lucky to have you.
The fact that they both based their dishes on special meals they have enjoyed with each other was really quite moving. It's clear that James and Ben have tremendous respect for each other. Best of luck in your next endeavor, James. I hope we get to see you again soon.

I'm honestly so happy for James. Sorted is like a nice comfortable place in the world for him, where he's done an amazing job on and off camera over the last decade and could do for another decade. Best of luck to James in his new career move, hope he brings back a lot of new dishes and challenges for the boys to experience and make a mess of (grin). Really enjoyed the sentiment behind the dish choices in this last (for now) Chef vs. Chef battle. Adieu James!
Ah! this hurts, James brought such a great dynamic to Sorted, but it's nice to think that he's going to be developing and growing as a person, and doing what he wants most. And he'll always be able to look back on this period of his life and know it was great.
The normals seem extra sassy because it's one of James' final videos. I especially like Jamie saying, "I've done a wine course!" in a snobby voice at 6:43. :D
Awww! I’m crying with this episode. I really don’t want to see James go, but I wish him well in his new career path. He certainly deserves to take all that amazing creativity to new levels. Ben, you’re an incredibly good chef; better than good, excellent. This loss is not a reflection on your abilities; it’s just a way to send off James with a lot of love and good wishes. It is also a recognition to his brilliant mind and his unique contributions to SORTED.
I’d love to see a basic butchery/meat sorta badge. I know that different cuts in the UK have different names than here in the US (hell, even coast to coast in the US stuff goes by different names) and I’d love to see if the boys can identify basic cuts of meat off different animals.
I want to thank the whole Sorted team, but especially James for the wonderful time we've had watching you over the years. A dear friend of mine passed away on May 2, and for the last couple years we had been watching every video together as they came out. You guys provided a lot of entertainment and comfort to people all over the world during lockdown, and I am immensely grateful for all of you. James, you will be missed.
Good luck in your future endeavours, James. We’re all wishing you the very best. Hope to see you again! Thank you for the laughs, memories, and lessons!
James really did take these videos to whole another level once he started joining the crew on camera. (Thanks Mike) All the best on your next chapter! Development chef is nothing short of being an artist, canvas is your plate, and James Currie you’ve painted countless masterpieces over the last 10 years! You will be SO missed!!
I'm a 6'4" hairy arsed Scotsman and I'm almost welling up here! Must be the hay fever coming back. Good luck James and thank you for years of great entertainment and education.
The bond that the sorted guys developed with each other is absolutely adorable. I couldn’t help but “aww” through the entire video. James will be greatly missed and wish him all the best in his career!
I think we're all winners because we've gotten to witness the amazing friendship between these chefs and the respect they have for one another even in a competitive environment
I love how both dishes represented their cooking style perfectly. Ben cooking a risotto and being super science nerdy with all the components, James cooking something super fancy that is multiple things at once.
Despite the whiff of abandonment, I wish you nothing but huge snootfuls of success in the future James! All the best, and I look forward to your visits in the future 💕
I was already having an emotional weekend before I watched this video, and now I'm crying. It's weird but I remember when James came onto the screen I'm pretty sure I thought 'this is odd, I don't know how I feel about this new dynamic' but now I crazy to imagine it without him. Pretty sure you're my spirit animal, James, with your sarcasm and dry humour, you really will be missed. All the bestest of lucks for the future from just another stranger on the internet
Never thought I'd get so emotional over a cooking show, but damn. Been watching since early 2014 when I was a teenager, and I've learned so much from James over the years. Godspeed, Mr. Currie and I hope you find immense sucess in all your future endeavors
Im really gonna miss u James. Watching u cook for these last couple years that ive been watching u guys had really opened my mind to a completely different way of looking at food. Ive been a chef for 26 years and never have i seen such a love for just the whole way cooking. Thank you so much for being you. Please come back amd let us know how your new job is. Definitely bittersweet watching this - but I’m so glad we can all send James off on a high note! I can feel Mike getting more sentimental at the end there though, I wish we can give all of you a big hug!
I know the lion's share of appreciation goes to James here, but can we also all take a moment to acknowledge the fact that Ben's personal, foraged jar of pickled garlic buds HAS A LABEL? Ben, never change.
I feel the same about James leaving that I did about Steve Irwin passing. I love watching this channel and getting new idea recipes and I always felt James was a sort of Bob Ross with cooking. Calm natured and advisory and he was always my favorite. Sad to see ya go bud.

Best of luck to James in his new career move, hope he brings back a lot of new dishes and challenges for the boys to experience and make a mess of (grin). Really enjoyed the sentiment behind the dish choices in this last (for now) Chef vs. Chef battle. Adieu James!
“Oily little Bleugh.” - Michael Brian Huttlestone, 2021.
It makes sense. Let’s put it that way.
Ah! this hurts, James brought such a great dynamic to Sorted, but it's nice to think that he's going to be developing and growing as a person, and doing what he wants most. And he'll always be able to look back on this period of his life and know it was great.
The normals seem extra sassy because it's one of James' final videos. I especially like Jamie saying, "I've done a wine course!" in a snobby voice at 6:43. :D
Yes, I hope that James' new workplace has a better attitude towards culinary arts
"Keep it to food," he says with a disappointed sneer...Refusing to acknowledge that we ALL KNOW HE'S A SNACCCC!
“There’s no need to embarrass ourselves in front of real people.” - Jamie
Guess we’re not real then? 😉
I mean, to them, we're basically just voices in the internet.
makes the haters matter even less
we only see the final edit, the 'real' people in the studio see all that goes wrong and other happy accidents
Wow. You guys took my joke way more serious then I expected. 😂
@@eddebrock - maybe not voices. Eyes?
This was a battle AND a love letter to James! We’re going to miss you James. There will be an absence for sure. Don’t be a stranger!
❤️from 🇺🇸
James: "C'mon, let's keep it to food."
Me: "He is, cus you'z a SNACK."
sorry.
exactly what went through my mind too! hahah
Good luck James!!!! We all love the Sorted family!
Thank you so much Jessica :)
I'm a 6'4" hairy arsed Scotsman and I'm almost welling up here! Must be the hay fever coming back.
Good luck James and thank you for years of great entertainment and education.
“It’s complex it’s delicious it’s James Currie... “ Aaand his food Barry ?!
Take care of yourself and much love from me to you. Love ya man.
glad to see barry and jamie taking over the sass! they'll never steal james' crown though
Sad to see ya go bud.
oh i’m not ready for this video!! 😭 wishing you all the luck in the world james!! i’ve been watching sorted videos for years now, i grew up with your guy’s videos. might be a tad overdramatic of me but oh wow im sad to see you go. im so so proud of you!! must be an amazing opportunity for you to take a step this big after 9 years. please do share some your journey with us on socials as long as you’re comfortable!! excited to see you grow more as a chef. sorted team, do send my love to him, he’s helped me in more ways than he’ll ever know. james, wish you well mate, love you xx -roza
I wish James the best for his new job. I hope he brings the same creative force with him in the next chapter and that he gets all the growth and learning he wishes. To a good man, a good friend, and an amazing chef - farewell, James.
Thank you James for everything you've done. Good luck!
Something about the gentle way James speaks really punched me in the gut just now and now I'm sobbing a little. Stop making me feel emotions darn you!😂😭😭😭😂😭
Man I'm gonna miss James in these videos. 💔
Okay okay, thank you, Ben. You busting out the alky in order to bribe the judges the way you always do, has cheered me up, or at the very least stopped the crying. Now I'm laughing a little. Thanks Ben 💜🤣
Loved how they both picked meals they made together or experienced. James, you will be missed.
I have been watching this channel for many years and have always loved the friendship all the guys have with each other.
Laughing and crying throughout this entire episode! We’ll miss you, James - best of luck at your “real” job!
Thank you Joy :)
I love watching you guys. That you are friends is the icing. There is something about the alchemy of friendship among guys especially that is so enjoyable.
That you also bring gastronomic surprises is the big payoff to watching...
That Closeup Shot of Jamie’s Mug. I LOVE IT! Is it a part of ‘SortedFood’ Merch?
James, you probably will never read this but I just wanted to say thanks for being apart of one of the RUclips channels that really helped me get through the past year. Seeing you guys joke around and cook so many good looking foods inspired me to try cooking for myself and it’s grown into an amazing outlet for me. Good luck with your new job and journey, and thank you.
*Jaime:* "So, when he does come back-"
*Barry:* "Yeah?"
*Jaime:* "What's your predictions on the size of the arms? Are they gonna get bigger after he's gone or-?
*James:* "Come on, let's keep it to food..."
*Jaime:* "Yeah, I am...." _lip smacking sounds_
lol I thought u made this up
After so many months of being apart from friends and family, videos of friends having a good time together mean all the more. Thanks folks, really needed this one lately. Also - food looks fantastic!
James will be missed!! ❤️
AND the infamous red shorts made a brief cameo. 🥰
Awesome!! Thank you James for your contributions to Sorted. Your gingerness and Sass have made an impact on all who watch Sorted videos. Still my favourite video, is the Sia video, where your face told the perfect story, of how you did Not want to be in it. As I see it. A true classic, that is now on the Sorted channel for all to see. I hope you have an awesome time at your new job. Many thanks....:)
The most wholesome send off. Until we see you again James, go out there and give the culinary world hell! 🥰🥰
I have been trying to avoid watching this video ever since it was posted. I'm really happy for James moving forward in his career but it's hard to imagine sortedfood without him. I found sortedfood when I was in a bit of a bad place in my life and these guys really bought joy to me. I aspire to be chef someday and sortedfood, especially the chefs have taught me so much about being humble, creative. Ben and James both have such different approach in food yet equally admirable. What they said about the other in the video is so nice and shows how much they respect each other. I hope to achieve what these have someday. Good luck James. Thank you sortedfood
Good luck to James in his new endeavors and hope he'll come back from time to time
We’ll miss you James, but good on you and good luck! Also, I absolutely love how extra Ben is with his homemade ingredients! He is so ridiculously passionate about his food. And thanks for being so supportive of James at this time too
I've got a fresh cup of tea just for this occasion.
