Lots of you will notice I don't have the Fisch Moto e-start on my bike. To be honest, after a few years of testing the product I was kinda burnt out from the process and couldn't be bothered to install it on this bike. I really enjoyed having the e-start, but was rushed for time this spring to get my bike built and running. That being said, the Fisch option is really great, and if you want the button it's definitely the e-start to get!
I love your riding man. I got four minutes in and feel like the vid is too brief. Not because I think 30 minutes for a set up vid is too short. I would like to see your lever angles, how far in they are, where your finger contacts the lever, clutch freeplay, clutch engagement point, knuckle angle for each lever, bar width, bar sweep, rise, bar roll, clamp locations, reach from the pegs, height from the pegs, guard angles, grip width and button locations. Those are all things I highly scrutinized on my bikes. Maybe I should start a U toob channel.
Hey man, love the content! On my yz250x i ran the fmf gnarly as well and mated it with the turbinecore 2.1 and it brought back the top end. The turbinecore 2.1 is very long and fmf told me thats what gives the bike the top end performance. apex head with the fmf combo, bike was an animal. On a Sherco now but love the yz.
This was super informative man. I am 2 years into writing and basically just do hair scrambles but I always love to hear about different people's setups and this was very well put together. thanks for taking the time. be safe! -Nick
Airbox option -drill multiple 1/2 inch holes in number plate for added clean air, especially at 5k-10k plus altitude -also holes reduce airbox intake vacuum, reduces drawing dusty air from rear wheel well
Great video, you should try the Lexx pipe, it's the same as stock but with 18 gauge steel (more low torque) like the Fmf gnarly but 100$ cheaper and it doesn't lack of power at top end.
Impressive video, well said, like the honesty. We have days of hard enduro trails right outside of NYC, u can see NYC from our trails. We even have legal -ish way to ride the bikes into the city. My dad did Erzberg. U should come ride with us...
Freaking awesome video! Do a straight YZ250 next maybe, it's got the correct gearing, just needs a 6th(c'mon Yamaha). I really enjoyed hearing the details of your setup, thanks!
Next time ur split it cases get a yz 3erd and take out the yzx 3erd gear and replace it it make the transition from 3ed to 4th so much better i dit it on my bike and love it. The 3erd gear on the yzx is a bit smaller the the yz
Airbox in dry/ dusty conditions -seal /weatherstripping/ duct tape airbox to rear wheel well area... -dusty air gets drawn up from wheel well at open joints -(opening at bottom of airbox ahead of wheel well ok)
Great vid as always very professional. Is the apex really that worth it? Like you said you recommend it’s the first thing someone should put on their bike, but I just wouldn’t want to be disappointed by it by noticing little or no change.
@@notoriusmuskle1912 first thing IF you're looking for more power and you've already dropped a tooth on the front sproket. But yeah, as far as engine stuff, it works great and is noticeable
@ I’m also a bit in between domes with the XC and MX, heard some mixed reviews. I’m mainly riding very similar terrain to the stuff you got in PG, and I know u switched from the XC to the MX just because your a more aggressive rider. When you had the XC did you really have any massive regrets with it? And with the MX, did it give you the same pulling power and lug down low that XC claims?
@notoriusmuskle1912 both are strong and honestly I think you'll be happy with both... the sx is the only one that's too gnarly for technical offroad haha
@luislozada6445 the hitlis wasn't even on my radar when I built this bike up... BUT I've heard a lot of really good things over the last few months. Really considering it for next season upgrade
@@JasonHamborg you won't regret it. The power is unbelievably linear and does amazing here in the Colorado gnar. It's certainly worth way more than he charges. It has been the best mod I've done and I've tried it all on a yz (except the estart which idk if I ever will). The hitlis works best with an apex sx head/dome after all my 'experimenting'.
He does mention it in the description. I have the Fisch Moto e-start on my 2019 YZ 250. Right now I have just over 40 hours on it and it’s worked flawlessly.
I opted not to put electric start on my 22 instead I invested in a Rekluse auto clutch which eliminates stalling and is a game changer when things get technical. Best bike out there and definitely best suspension
The rest of the world calls them YZed. The yanks have to be different......... like the rest of the world uses metric, but the yanks persist with bloody "Imperial" measurement.........

GYTR chain guide and flywheel! And come race the corduroy enduro next year!

Doesn't make sense, the yz 3rd won't work, 3 vs 4 dogs so gears won't mesh.
Apex Head/jetting
-Apex lists a jetting chart for Keihin carb that works pretty well (32/1 mix)
Use wish that Yamaha would install a true wide ratio 5 or 6 speed gear box.

Handlebar mounts
-Mako 360
-dont raise bar height
-lighter
-full range of motion/absorption
Del Sagio fork mod
-XR Kit for KYB
-replaces high friction base reservoir with an air bladder ...
One of the best platforms to start with in history!!
You don’t try the hitlis system for the power valve ?
@luislozada6445 the hitlis wasn't even on my radar when I built this bike up... BUT I've heard a lot of really good things over the last few months. Really considering it for next season upgrade
Clutch/throttle cables
-just replace them every season
-keep levers clean
In the past I've tried the motion pro cables... they are okay, but I prefer the feeling of stock!
Chain guide
-GYTR chain guide better
-Bullet Proof Designs makes a reinforcement bracket
Will look into this!
Can't call it the ultimate build without trying hitlis. Missing out my boy.
@rideoutwest7885 duuude that's what I'm hearing! It wasn't even on my radar until pretty recently!

Frig you dad, I have money now 😂
Why you have removed tubliss on the rear?
I have a wheel with an XC style tire and tubliss. Plus a wheel with the mouse and soft gummy tire.
