I´ve made over 100 faux ravens with a familiar base of old newspapers but glued and sticked it together with pvc cellotape and added real black painted goose feathers in combination with black fun fur to finish it up. But i do like your approax of making your raven as well. Good on you mate!

BraveBlueRaven Art and Craft muchas gracias!

      English ~
Recipe for "Paper Mache Clay" - this recipe was created by Jonni Good. Her website is ~ ultimatepapermache.com
      1 roll toilet paper
      3/4 cup white glue
1 cup joint compound - *you can buy this from a hardware store ... it is normally used for sealing gaps in a house wall
2 Tablespoons of Linseed oil - * I used Mineral oil also known as "Baby Oil"
1/2 cup of white flour - * I found I needed to add a lot more flour to get the right consistency
      1 large bowl
      warm water
      electric mixer
      measuring cup
First remove toilet paper from the roll, put it in a bowl with warm water
let the paper get very wet, then pick it up and squeeze out as much water as you can
Pour the water out of the bowl and put the paper back in
Break the paper into chunks - * about 1 inch wide. This makes it easier for mixing with the electric mixer
Measure all the other ingredients and add them to the bowl
Mix it all up with the electric mixer for at least 3 minutes - *The mixer will pull the fibres of the toilet paper apart and turn it into pulp so the clay will be nice and smooth and easy to use. When the clay is done, it will look a bit like cookie dough.
When pick up a bit the clay you will notice it is still a bit moist. If you pull a knife across it you will notice it is quite smooth - especially if the knife is slightly damp. It can be spread almost like frosting a cake with icing.
At this stage you can use it, but if you want it to be firmer then add more flour until it is thicker.
(I like it to be much firmer because it is easier to work with)
Keep the clay in an airtight container, in the fridge. It will last for a long time ... but sometimes it might go mouldy on top. I add some bleach to the dough while mixing (about 2 tablespoons) which keeps it fresh, white and free from mould.
I hope this helps you and I hope you enjoy creating. :0)
