I got a 2015 lml and changed to fox shocks huge improvement while pulling. I'm at 92,000 miles and love the power. I also run EDT from Hot Shoot Secret to help with fuel quality and lubricates my pump with there lx4 additive. Looking at newer trucks from my old '90 F250. Those backup cameras are friggin cheating for lining up with the hitch. I used to put a magnetic stick of the top of the hitch and in front of the ball. Just try to get them close.
2019 GMC 3500 srw and got 10.4 mpg towing a Jeep on an open trailer in west Texas. Kept it at 78 mph on I-10. My previous gas Chevrolet would get in the low 9’s but couldn’t easily run that fast especially not with cruise on.
Nice video. That black truck looked good in front of your trailer. What you said about the power is exactly why I think a lot of these just ridiculous power numbers they have now come at certain conditions. Because just the eye test with the acceleration looked comparable to the 2017 Ford that had much more power on paper.
It really did, I still think this is the best body style for GMC! The power is hard to gauge because these trucks have gotten so dang heavy... I’m planning on posting the 2020 Silverado Duramax this week! Thanks for sharing Matthew 👍🏾
I look forward to seeing that one and getting your perspective on its performance. I don’t particularly have anything to compare mine to with real personal experience. At least not apples to apples. I’ve towed with an LML 2016 Dually but it was a flatbed and had about 4000 pounds of pressure washing equipment plus an 18’ enclosed trailer that weighed about 10,000 pounds total. It handled it like a champ but would top out at about 65 mph on about an 8% grade hitting it at 55 and then going WOT. So not a fair comparison because my truck will just fly up that same grade with my trailer. Anyways the trucks are very heavy. Based off the payload numbers my truck is around about 200-300 pounds heavier than that one. Mine is a 10000 GVWR too you know and has 1802 payload I think.
