To be clear just because I love this game and I want people to pick it up, the version shown in the video is 0.9.3.2 not actually 1.0.
The 1.0 version actually includes a _lot_ more stuff even including an Ascension system, Endless mode, tons more monsters, artefacts, traps, etc. so there is even _more_ of a reason to pick it up.
Thanks for posting that, was a little on the fence but now im sold.
And just for those wandering by, Retro is a pretty cool chap himself. It's worth checking his channel out. (I am in no way affiliated, I bumped into him from Wanderbot and the Wholesomeverse)
Glad to see the game isn't as harsh as it used to be. Like you said, parties of adventurers usually reached dungeon boss and just rained havoc on the monsters for no good reason. Now it looks more balanced and manageable, it's cool.
So nice to not see cards!

random rearrangement moves them to a position they are not occupying, so where you put them does still matter

20:50 - It's not "tanki-ness" as much as elemental defense you should worry about. If the hero is going to use an air attack in the back, use Peskara who has 50% air defense.
I remember this game not being good when I tested it, guess It changed for the better.
There was an elemental run where I was stacking weakness to nature and poison using traps and with poison and weakness monsters. So bad I had like 5 weakness and +10 poison on a hero. Meaning in a few turns they are mostly dead. Traps if set up to work well with your monsters can carry a run.
26:12 I think the most aggravated I think I’ve heard Splat in a while if not ever.
Use the ballista after the trap room it doubles the damage, really op
I've been enjoying the most recent changes. Already feeling like I get more monster/trap variety after some unlocks. Still very rarely doing Morale focused runs. Grinding out stat tree points sort of hurts. Looking forward to release this week!

Love this game! Although I was definitely hoping for a new boss for the 1.0 but no dice. PS, the rearrange ability still leaves some strategy because it changes the focus of your placement to where you Dont want your characters
I don't get why he didn't think of this idea. I immediately thought "Well don't put them where you want them if they are going to just move them"

A game you should look at is magic age, it's small in EA and it's based on dnd 3.5
with the mage i always have the weakest monste in the front of the first fight, because it never ends in the front after the spell

So I just got all excited that this is coming to mobile, then I look and see it's also for consoles... If I'da realized that, I would have had this a hot minute ago. Lol. It's be cheaper on mobile, but PS4 has the complete edition for $35, so I'm just getting that.

The combat depends mostly on your setup.

Not even sure what you mean by that tbh. You have to choose which minions and traps to get and which room to put them in, also which upgrades to get, building synergies. So yeah, once combat starts it is only a matter of placement and choosing between 2 or 3 abilities but you do a lot more stuff before that.
@@SangerZonvolt Hm depending on price and content to come i think your argument is valid. But what is show here looks quiet boring. Also i think a game that can be played 3x the speed without problems has a underlying design issues that roots far deeper than "left or right" player interactions.

Screen shake and motion blur are both cancers to video games.
I think you can at least reduce the screen shake in the options. Been a while since I played.
There should be more games on consoles, but PC, phones are not included. Like PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch where you play as villains, no anti-heroes they are between good and evil. Just strange up being evil in games that's all I want in games. There's too many on PC and we don't always know they exist out there. Please, don't say play GTA I heard enough about the game and already play them. I know you play as a villain in that one but it's more fun to be a villain in a fantasy world than being one in a world that already exist and villains in modern world games are usually suck. I like GTA, but San Andreas was way better, after that, it lost it's charm and most games have milking sequels and it does hit that rock bottom eventually. Okay I like Trevor because he always do dumb things off, and on screen, and I fine it hilarious. I have a sick sense of humor when it comes to idiot characters like that. But who wouldn't, dumb villains or awful characters are funny in games like that. Trevor is one my favorite character I like seeing his villainous stupidity.
Okay, sorry, I got off topic. I meant playing as a villain in a fantasy world is more fun than being a villain in a modern world. Unless you add more offensive missions and bad content in the game. But since it's 2021 it would get a rated A on the game if add something more morbid to the game and people would cancel culture it, it's sad but true. It's hard to add playable villains in games than adding likeable heroes. But I like playing as a villains in games and I wouldn't never harm people in real life it's just a game. Screw 2021.
