  • I will walk you through Cisco On Premises Calling using Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), aka Callmanager, IP PBX, etc. What is it? How does it work? How do you build one? A lot of companies are looking to move to cloud calling these days, but there is still a place for on premise calling offered by the most powerful calling platform in the world. If you have any questions, post them in the comments below - enjoy!

This might seem like a silly question, but is it possible that much of the Cisco Telephony market will be replaced by Teams? Just wondering because if I was interested in learning this stuff but got discouraged upon hearing that some enterprises were moving away from traditional handsets to MS Teams
Once upon a time I had studied and got a Novell certification, but not long after more and more corporations switch from Novell to Microsoft

Hi Pentti, that's a tough question to answer - predicting future marketshare. I don’t think you’ll go wrong studying Cisco, Microsoft, or many of the other cloud calling solutions out there mainly because the fundamentals are similar and in the event you decide to move companies, you’ll be able to leverage a lot of those fundamentals. At their core the newer tech is built in the cloud and if you understand the core (network, services, devices, features, etc.), this will all translate well from one provider to the next. I wish you all the best!!
