    Interesting. I think I've even seen this before. It would be interesting to hear more of Kim Il Sung's speeches and discussions with world leaders during the tour! Maybe someone can put together a appropriately edited video to accompany this one.

    you know,this could be just me but when this man died..i truly feel the rest of north korea died with him. If you look at the video of his funeral and the reactions you can tell that was more sincere than when his son died, when kim jong il died it seemed like it was forced cries. I've done research on kim il sung due to my world civics class and he truly tried to make changes for north korea.

    Kim was no doubt an iconic figure. He and a few other Socialists leaders tried to create a new Non-Aligned third way which would be completely different from the evangelised American style of Capitalism and the Soviet /Chinese style of Marxism!
    Also, 1970s was a golden era for both socialism and socialist economic policies the world over. Arab Nations under Baathists regimes were progressing such as Iraq and Syria, USSR under Brezhnev was at its very best, the Vietcong kicked Uncle Sam and the South Vietnamese Forces into the South China Sea and the Yugoslavs were leading the Non-Aligned Movement. Also in Pakistan ...ZAB Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and in Bangladesh Sheikh Mujib ur Rahman had nationalised the Commanding heights of the economy within the private sector which meant that new nations were eager to enter into the existing Socialist bloc.

    I think Kim Il Sung was an effectively great leader. He was also misunderstood by the West because of his so-called "misdeeds." I also think that the DPRK made a mistake in invading South Korea in the Korean War, but then again, South Korea is still a country with its own history of dictatorships and occasional economic problems.
    I don't want to be reminded that South Korea is a great country because it is always not. What's worse is that U.S. troops are still there as an occupying force.

    • @robertpolanco1973
      @robertpolanco1973 9 лет назад +5

      maybe he sees that nk has a better government then "its not obligatory to learn religion but possible to be gay" government of the usa ? or the almost everyone has money communist over the poor capitalist?
      i live in romania a country that usa ruined i was born in 1995 (6 years after the death of ceausescu) and i saw it scince the 2000s , you profited of our oil our gold our forests our water our weapons our army and even our people for your needs , scince we joined nato and the eu we were forced to share gold for almost free witch is less then how it costs to get it oil the same , forests all brought by ikea and others , our army was placed over 20.000 in iran and afghanistan where my uncle died cause of you guys! and the worst one scince we are a eastern country we have very small movement in other eu countries but they have full on movment
      our people going to other countries for a better life finding they cant get a job as a romanian and dont have money to come back all because of AMERICA AND CAPITALISM

      You're referring to Kim Jong Il. This is Kim Il Sung -- he flew all over the world. If he were only using rail, he would have had to pass through US-aligned countries to get to Algeria (which would be impossible in the case of the Israel-Egypt border, because there was no rail link at the time), and Mauritania doesn't even have any passenger railways.
