I'm french, i've known this song for a long time, but some reasons I didn't realize he was singing french words with his accent... Thought he was pronuncing some name : "John Tone Tanker" or something lol The way he pronounces it does not sound french at all...
@joepublic4082, Almost a year late with a reply, but if you see this, fish sings I can hear you're heart, as that is the English translation of the French words he sings before in the previous line.
Used to walk around Hackney Downs with my Walkman on listening to this while walking the dog. Takes you to another place. Didn't like it when you had to turn the tape over though 😕
And my appreciation,I hope I would have the chance to share show or explain my way..in better days or private to those kept saving me from the temptations..yesterday..now or tomorrow..With no reason they've been good and much more.(its me)
Um, it's funny isn't it but even now after hearing this tune 100s if not 1000s of time but I still am not sure if he says "I can HEAR your heart" or in context wiht the song & in conjunction with the "where the heartache disappears" it actually says "I can HEAL your heart" & uh, personally I think it's probably the latter but you don't agree & uh, neither does Google when I bring up the lyrics. [the latter does make more sense though don't ya think.?]

@toddpattison Yes check the lyrics or Google the lyrics and then translate the French line into English, it does mean I can Hear you're heart.
J'entends ton cœur in french means I hear your heart but good doctors use a stéthoscope first to hear your heart in order to heal it.
