A top 10 progressive rock album IMO I love how it blends prog song composition with a heavy 80's arena rock influenced sound, very unique album but it works really well.
I am 47…Misplaced Childhood is the record I have listened to the most in my life. I had the chance to see Fish performing live 3 times… last time was “farewell to childhood” in Switzerland.
His lyrics move me to tears, he is a poet, and thats that. What a legacy they have given us. Just wish I'd seen them live with Fish, they were good but with Fish, next level.
That was brilliant, absolutely awesome. Fish is an absolute legend and awesome to see both survived the divorce but left this legacy of fantastic tunes for us all. Thankyou lads, your music moves me to tears, poetry in music
One of the most under rated bands of the 80s that America never was able to get a real chance to hear. I lived in Germany during their height and got the privilege to see in concert with non other than Queen.
A spider wanders aimlessly within the warmth of a shadow Not the regal creature of border caves But the poor, misguided, directionless familiar Of some obscure Scottish poet The mist crawls from the canal Like some primordial phantom of romance To curl, under a cascade of neon pollen While I sit tied to the phone like an expectant father Your carnation will rot in a vase. A train sleeps in a siding The driver guzzles another can of lager To wash away the memories of a Friday night down at the club She was a wallflower at sixteen She'll be a wallflower at thirty four Her mother called her beautiful Her daddy said, "A whore". The sky was Bible black in Lyon When I met the Magdalene She was paralyzed in a streetlight She refused to give her name And a ring of violet bruises They were pinned upon her arm. Two hundred francs for sanctuary and she led me by the hand To a room of dancing shadows where all the heartache disappears And from glowing tongues of candles I heard her whisper in my ear "'J'entend ton coeur" I can hear your heart It's getting late, for scribbling and scratching on the paper Something's gonna give under this pressure And the cracks are already beginning to show It's too late The weekend career girl never boarded the plane They said this could never happen again So wrong, so wrong This time it seems to be another misplaced rendezvous This time, it's looking like another misplaced rendezvous With you The parallel of you, yo On the outskirts of nowhere On the ring road to somewhere On the verge of indecision I'll always take the roundabout way Waiting on the rain For I was born with a habit, from a sign The habit of a windswept thumb And the sign of the rain It's started raining
On the outskirts of nowhere On the ringroad to somewhere On the verge of indecision I'll always take the roundabout way Waiting on the rain For I was born with a habit From a sign The habit of a windswept thumb And the sign of the rain Rain on me! {it started to rain} A) wide boy Wide boys, wide boys, wide boys Born with hearts of lothian Wide boys, wide boys Born with hearts of lothian Wide boys, we were wide boys Born with hearts of lothian These hearts of lothian It's six o'clock in the tower blocks The stalagmites of culture shock And the trippers of the light fantastic, bowdown, hoe-down Spray their pheremones on this perfume uniform And anarchy smiles in the royal mile And they're waiting on the slyboys, flyboys, wideboys Rooting, tooting cowboys Lucky little ladies at the watering holes They'll score the friday night goals I was born with a heart of lothian I was born with a heart of lothian I was born with a heart of lothian I was born with a heart of lothian I was born with a heart of lothian, with a heart of lothian.
And the man from the magazine wants another shot of you Cause you look like an actor in a movie shot But you are feeling like a wino in a parking lot How did I get in here anyway Do we really need a playback Cause the wide boy wants to headphone by the watering hole Let's go And the man in the miror has sad eyes
Man I miss listening to old marillion with my buddy Dave. Writing songs and playing them in his garage. I would love to be able to revist those memories from time to time. I miss the olden days, don't get me wrong I wouldn't change how it is currently but miss those days.
Coisas do século passado!
Memories of my A-Level years. I remember me and friend hiking round the coast of Mull and 'reciting' Misplaced Childhood word for word, we even got the words in the correct order unlike Mr Dick here... 😉
QUE BAANDA..ESA SI ERA UNA BANDA...QUE RECITAAL DIOS!! AHORA MUCHAS LUCES Y NADA DE BANDAS COMO EN ESOS TIEMPOS...EJ EL MEDIOCRE DE MALUMA..JLO...NOO AGRANDADOAS BANDAS DE AHORA.
It is only a bitter suite than before of my coming and not the Apocalypse... i.e. the total eclipse of the heart and the soul while the brain is still working!
Funtion fun what my person never look and my person this retired in form anticipady and not disfruit the your final show thank's band marillion always my person in my pensament bye friends bye and bendition a oll they in your life
While I have no value in the modern day thumbs up/down society, having your limited amount of brain capacity tell you that you do not like it should be punishable by a beating at the least. Maybe it's Kayleigh and Fish's ex-wives who do not like it. Staying in today's moronic vibe, the Hansa Studio documentary brought me here, not some stupid video game or some such.
Misplaced childhood is a masterpiece
It's the magnum opus...an LSD inspired look at a childhood through the looking glass...
A top 10 progressive rock album IMO
I love how it blends prog song composition with a heavy 80's arena rock influenced sound, very unique album but it works really well.
Itˋs a modern opera about a poor boy👍👍👍👍

I am 47…Misplaced Childhood is the record I have listened to the most in my life. I had the chance to see Fish performing live 3 times… last time was “farewell to childhood” in Switzerland.
steve rothery (the guitarist) band are touring this summer
"I can hear your heart."
The setting of this simple sentence is so ... moving devestating and devestating moving.
His lyrics move me to tears, he is a poet, and thats that. What a legacy they have given us. Just wish I'd seen them live with Fish, they were good but with Fish, next level.
he still is

Saludos!

I'm Dutch and saw thelm in the 80's is Germany. I'll never forget this trip to your beautiful country...
MARILLION AND QUEEN??????
QUE BANDA IMPRECIONANTE!!! DICHOSA ESA GENTE VIENDOLOS!!
CornflakeRain Un recital sublime, simplemente espectacular
Visti tre volte negli anni '80. Meravigliosi. Li ascolto ancora
A spider wanders aimlessly within the warmth of a shadow
Not the regal creature of border caves
But the poor, misguided, directionless familiar
Of some obscure Scottish poet
The mist crawls from the canal
Like some primordial phantom of romance
To curl, under a cascade of neon pollen
While I sit tied to the phone like an expectant father
Your carnation will rot in a vase.
A train sleeps in a siding
The driver guzzles another can of lager
To wash away the memories of a Friday night down at the club
She was a wallflower at sixteen
She'll be a wallflower at thirty four
Her mother called her beautiful
Her daddy said, "A whore".
The sky was Bible black in Lyon
When I met the Magdalene
She was paralyzed in a streetlight
She refused to give her name
And a ring of violet bruises
They were pinned upon her arm.
Two hundred francs for sanctuary and she led me by the hand
To a room of dancing shadows where all the heartache disappears
And from glowing tongues of candles I heard her whisper in my ear
"'J'entend ton coeur"
I can hear your heart
It's getting late, for scribbling and scratching on the paper
Something's gonna give under this pressure
And the cracks are already beginning to show
It's too late
The weekend career girl never boarded the plane
They said this could never happen again
So wrong, so wrong
This time it seems to be another misplaced rendezvous
This time, it's looking like another misplaced rendezvous
With you
The parallel of you, yo
On the outskirts of nowhere
On the ring road to somewhere
On the verge of indecision
I'll always take the roundabout way
Waiting on the rain
For I was born with a habit, from a sign
The habit of a windswept thumb
And the sign of the rain
It's started raining
On the outskirts of nowhere
On the ringroad to somewhere
On the verge of indecision
I'll always take the roundabout way
Waiting on the rain
For I was born with a habit
From a sign
The habit of a windswept thumb
And the sign of the rain
Rain on me! {it started to rain}
A) wide boy
Wide boys, wide boys, wide boys
Born with hearts of lothian
Wide boys, wide boys
Born with hearts of lothian
Wide boys, we were wide boys
Born with hearts of lothian
These hearts of lothian
It's six o'clock in the tower blocks
The stalagmites of culture shock
And the trippers of the light fantastic, bowdown, hoe-down
Spray their pheremones on this perfume uniform
And anarchy smiles in the royal mile
And they're waiting on the slyboys, flyboys, wideboys
Rooting, tooting cowboys
Lucky little ladies at the watering holes
They'll score the friday night goals
I was born with a heart of lothian
I was born with a heart of lothian
I was born with a heart of lothian
I was born with a heart of lothian
I was born with a heart of lothian, with a heart of lothian.
And the man from the magazine wants another shot of you
Cause you look like an actor in a movie shot
But you are feeling like a wino in a parking lot
How did I get in here anyway
Do we really need a playback
Cause the wide boy wants to headphone by the watering hole
Let's go
And the man in the miror has sad eyes
Marillion, with Fish, They belong into the TOP5 Bands in the Universe - this is so brilliant........ the drums are crazy.....!!!
uau!!! I love this band!!!! I think that they must to be back like a Reunion, with Eternal Fish in the vocals!!!
j`entend ton coeur….j`entend ton coeur….I can hear your heart….I can Hear your heart….hear your heart…..
Goosebumps, one of the bests sows ever performed.
Absolutely class , the passion and love of the music is evident with the band here
lucky to see them in Lyon (the town named in their title) in 87. One of my good memories of live music !! and i often make it alive with lorelei Dvd

A great era of the band! :D
Fish is Fish is the only one...
Man I miss listening to old marillion with my buddy Dave. Writing songs and playing them in his garage. I would love to be able to revist those memories from time to time. I miss the olden days, don't get me wrong I wouldn't change how it is currently but miss those days.

una delicia para los oídos.
Loreley Concert in Germany
A MAIOR OBRA PRIMA , QUA JA OUVI!! ❤❤
Capolavoro ininterrotto
Love this Scottish accent ❤
Epica!!!
❤❤❤❤❤
Sensacionales!!
POP: Lets make hits with 3 chords and a 4/4 beat
Marillion: HOLD MY BEERS !!!!
@Colin Hart to wash away the memories of a Friday night.. ..
Peak of their powers live .
80s💙🐟
Some formulas are difficult (if not impossible) to replace.
Marillion with Fish, definetly is one of those.
Coisas do século passado!
❤❤
Is the lady doing backing vocals the same that appears singing with Rick Wakeman in "1984"?
Memories of my A-Level years.
I remember me and friend hiking round the coast of Mull and 'reciting' Misplaced Childhood word for word, we even got the words in the correct order unlike Mr Dick here... 😉
Marillion at their best,I was lucky to them with Fish several times
Man Steve Rotherys solo makes me so emotional in this song, wish I could’ve seen them live.
Not too late, and he have only gotten better. Alex Lifeson and Steve Rotherey must be the most underrated guitarists.
steve rothery band touring this summer
I'm sorry if it has been asked before, but where is this show from? And might it be available as a dvd or similar? Thanks.
Live at Loreley
And yes it is available on dvd
Shame they’re actually pretty underrated…it’s their timing they came out…that’s all.
"J'entend ton coeur"
I can hear your heart, can hear your heart, canhear your heart... Amazing
Marillion con Fish, insuperables. Corta
Sin duda :)
QUE BAANDA..ESA SI ERA UNA BANDA...QUE RECITAAL DIOS!! AHORA MUCHAS LUCES Y NADA DE BANDAS COMO EN ESOS TIEMPOS...EJ EL MEDIOCRE DE MALUMA..JLO...NOO AGRANDADOAS BANDAS DE AHORA.
Fish and Marillion❤
It is only a bitter suite than before of my coming and not the Apocalypse... i.e. the total eclipse of the heart and the soul while the brain is still working!
What guitar model is this from Steve Rothery? please
Live 1985
Back when one could wear one's hair in a neck embracing type of manner…...
Uwielbiam
Fish rulez!
Tyrion Lannister on guitar. He was so young then, I almost didn’t recognize him!
Marillion became too impersonal for Derek, but what a great 5 years we had in the 80s.......
We sure did, so lucky to have been there for the ride. Blessed.
Marillion = Fish ¡¡¡¡¡¡
Edinburgh.....................
Impresionante 🥰
inspirative
I miss The Fish.
énorme!!!!!
Funtion fun what my person never look and my person this retired in form anticipady and not disfruit the your final show thank's band marillion always my person in my pensament bye friends bye and bendition a oll they in your life
3 heartless people over there!! Get a doctor!!!

@@janwaalwijk666 ...so...you agreed? Are you too sarcastic so I dont get it? Or maybe my SOOO POOOR english makes me dummy. XD
I think you agreed.
@@alexxbass Yes I agree. \
The woman is out of tone don'like this......
Its one o clock and its time for lunch..
Genesis y Marillion
nice copy of 80s Genesis..
