honestly, I feel like he aged better than everyone else in his band - looked older than his bandmates in his 20s, but hitting his stride in his 40s. good for him
I couldn't imagine what life growing up would have been without the strokes. Best band ever. And it was all carried by Albert's catchy riffs and hypnotic licks. Cool to hear the mind and life behind the music
At first, I couldn't decided if I like the rawness of your videos/"podcast"/youtube channel. Now, I can't get enough of it. I think this is what makes you unique - unrefined, so raw, unfiltered, REAL. Love it Charlotte. :) I put on your videos while working from home and it feels like friends chatting in the background and then I remember, "Oh ya, it's Albert Hammond Jr" or Scarlett or whoever!
I met him when he played High Noon Saloon in Madison WI. Amazing person and artist. Wish I could get that moment back because there’s a hundred conversations I wish I coulda had with him and watching this interview just enhances that regret because I’ll never get that chance again. The more interviews and opportunities you get to see his personality come out, the more awesome of a person you see he is. I feel similar to the other members of the Strokes as well but Albert is most definitely my favorite in the band.
loved this so much, as someone who recently got into the strokes, its really cool listening to albert talk about his life. also, never heard of charlotte but she's a great interviewer!
38:30 I know Jack White has said quite a bit that that's his philosophy for songwriting, keeping yourself from most mental distraction to leave space for your brain to think and come up with something on it's own
Please do a part 2 and touch on his health and fitness journey and how it’s changed over time. You can tell he was excited to get into that and I’d love to hear it. Awesome interview, I watched the entire video!
Also if there is a part 2 I’d love to hear him get more a into his style and fashion journey. I see he has done some collabs with designers. Is he into fragrance if so, which ones?
i've watched it twice because i had such a great time during the first listening i just had to get back. great interview! love the bits about religion and meaning, i'm 100% with albert on these matters
Hey Charlotte, This was such a good podcast. I enjoyed every bit of it. It’s so great to see stars on your podcast. This shows versatility and creativity to your channel. I can’t wait for more next week!
The Strokes were formed in 1998. She was BORN in 1998. Who the hell do you think got his ass on her terrible podcast…? Thank Matty Healy for that connection. Do you think a 24 year old affluent, nepo cry baby with parent problems trying to be emo and interviewing her rich friends and banging Healy knows anything at all about The Strokes or music? What a low point for a famous musician like Albert.
Albert said so many things that I relate to. I'm a highly sensitive person as well, and I cry at everything (especially listening to the Strokes)! I had to go and watch Normal People because he talked about it, and he's right, it is so sad!
This was such an amazing interview/podcast, i love albert and this got so deep sometimes I loved it. also loved the shoutout to harder harder harder i love that song so much
More podcast Albert! The strokes members dont do much of this stuff... I see myself alot in albert, playing with alot of techinal musicans, but my style is more vibe/simple/groove. Simple is often overshadowed by for example complex jazz players.
@@chloemiranz yes! You would think she could direct herself in the same way, that’s what’s so funny to me. She lets herself off the hook in a way that she doesn’t with guests, she always directs the conversation like a pilot 👩✈️
The segment on belief was intresting, I think general people who haven't studied religion look at it as bad; not saying it's all good. But general catholics don't take the Bible, especially the old testmemant,as complete truth but as metaphors.
Love Albert. Super interesting take on life having meaning / higher power/ religion etc at the end... He seems to care to much about what he does to say there is "no meaning" but very very interesting chat. Will have to dive deeper into it next time ha!
Dream collabos: Char + Madison Beer Char + Emma Chamberlain Char + Devon Carlson (again♡) Char + Olivia Obrien (again♡) Char + Kaia Garber etc… I love your podcasts! Keep it up! I love you!
wtf was not expecting him to be a guest on here love it
he's just a dude, it really shows lol
Man I love Albert, he is always open to conversations and he seems like a really good person.
He’s connected to his inner child and it shows. How beautiful is that
Are you calinng him immature??
He hasn’t aged a day. Loved this conversation. Thank you!
The hair transplant helped.
It is a hair system (an expensive one), not a transplant
@@g.garcia106 'Hair system' lol - otherwise known as a wig
@@sratus yes. It’s a hair solution. And for your information: having the hair of a cadaver glued to your scalp does not make you less of a man

Albert is an insanely gifted, kind and self aware human being.

You should have a q&a section in the podcast so we can ask the guest questions so they can answer it real time!

1:03:00 I felt that when listening to the Harry Styles song as well, definitely strokes influenced
albert is such a genuine dude
can’t express how happy I got when he said something should be coming in june

This was very unexpected but very cool😁
I feel like this whole ep is charlotte trying to convince him how great he is
How are you so concise and direct and great with questioning others but you are so scattered and confused when you are just by yourself 😅
Shes such a great interviewer in my opinion

Me too Albert, me too
I enjoyed this so much !!! Still holding on to The Stokes because still a hard fan and love the album Melodies of Hiatus ❤

Awesome interview, he gets a bit Seinfeld humor here and there especially on that strokes influences in his solo work part! Love Albert!
