God, please get Nick Valensi on here if you can.
THIS
Can you imagine?
I second this
Calm down 😂
YES! He really should consider the demand
In case you missed it, I want to remind all of you that the host, Scott Lipps, knows people and is friends with Albert.
The Strokes were a huge part of my childhood, I’ve been a fan since their first album came out. I can believe I’m 30 years old now…
Same dude. It was the Spider-Man movie soundtrack for me. They had "When it Started" on there, and fell in love ever since.
I'm 31 years old and I feel the same. I remember the first song that I listen from them was last nite, i was at my grandma's house and I saw it on MTV.
I love hearing about Albert and Nick's guitars and have heard them briefly mention them in other interviews so it was great to hear him go more into detail about their origin. I always thought he got both the Strat and Riviera on the same day on impulse buy but I guess there's more to it than that. I have his signature Strat and also bought a 1995 Epiphone Riviera plus two P-94's but couldn't bring myself to mod it since it's all original and in near mint condition. Great interview!
Australia in 2003, I was in Melbourne doing a fashion internship, on my last day in the country I wanted to go see The Strokes but didn't have a ticket. When my 'I'm-on-the-list-story' didn't work at the front door, I just went in through the back door, up the fire escape, just followed the music straight into music venue, snuck in to the crowd right behind the big giant bald security guard. BEST-GIG-EVER
iconic
I swear I have never seen a security guard with hair 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
As someone in a band, I think the coolest advice he said was how going to show's together as a band gets yourselves out there. Get involved with your local scene and you'll know your favorite artists! What a great interview. Albert might be my new favorite member of the Strokes.
Settle down Fab is everyones favorite XD
Always loved Albert’s style (both playing and how he looked on stage). Def an inspiration to me in my early 20s
thank you for this interview. Strokes are always very intresting and fun to listen to. They don't really talk much about their story so it's always a new stuff we can learn from them. Looking forward for their new projects 🙏
55:14 What I would do to see this live 😩
To hear songs from Little Joy, Phrazes for the Young, and Yours to Keep etc. at a Strokes show would be so cool live!!!
Don't forget CRX
I liked Nickel Eye too
and machinegum!!!!!
I love all the strokes albums, but i love all of Alberts albums even more, every one just hits so hard
As a massive fan of The Strokes, thank you very much for such an entertaining conversation, really really enjoyed being a fly on the wall for that, awesome interview!!!
I'm glad you were able to make some time for a few questions, there was little room for that among all the name dropping!
Absolutely can’t wait for the next strokes record
59:19 top 5 non-rock
1:02:10 top 5 places to eat in LA
1:05:26 top 6 strokes songs
"I'll come in there immediately" is so funny
Man, I love that Rolex Datejust he's had since the early 2000s -- what a timeless man that Albie!
Albert is great. Would love to see Nick on as well
The host likes a good name drop lol
He's friends with all of them too 😁
i found him really obnoxious and arrogant
He is awful. Bad interviewer who prefers talking about who he knows than listening to Albert 😂
Albert is so cool and such a talented musician. One of my favorite Strokes ❤❤️
Great interview! Someday 🙌🏽
Albert Hammond has some great solo albums
Under control is my fav song. Glad he picked that one.
Albert, keep doing your own things too. The more the better.
Soma is my favorite song from their first album ❤
Yeahhhhh! That was the Singapore setlist 😍😍😍 And all the songs age well, even Reptilia 🩷
bros trying to impress a rockstar with his many famous ppl he know , and u can tell alberts seeing straight through that shit lol😊
Again! ?
Goddamn apparently some people DO need grammarly. There is no possessive apostrophe in “Casablancas”
Okay I wasn't ready for him putting I like it by debarge as number one literally the only song I know by them and I love that shit never heard anyone talk about it 💀
I love that for random music Albert uses Spotify but to listen to the strokes he specifically pulls up Apple Music, gotta get those penny royalties
Great Interview
I had my come to Jesus moment with Guided by Voices around 1996. I was 20 years old and a friend of mine had Bee Thousand and Sunfish Holy Breakfast. We would smoke pot and drive back roads and listen to those cd's. It was magical to discover them. I was indifferent at first, but after a while the songs got stuck in my head. Queens of Cans and Jars was the first one that grabbed me. It was creepy, cool, melodic. Just great. Anyway, they are my favorite band of all time. Gbv! Gbv! Gbv!
That was a blast
That Phillip Glass song makes me cry every time
i would love the solo stuff being played by the strokes!
thank you for this episode! it was very interesting hearing albert :) greetings from mexico!
I’m with him on the Zeppelin bit, Pink Floyd for me!
I just wanted to learn more about my favorite artist
Room On Fire ❤
alright now get fab on here
please. he doesn’t do very many interviews, right?
did he really just ask him how he felt about influencing Harry Styles 😂😂
CARNT belive my first electric guitars the same as alberts first electric guitar and we still have them fender strat.
Interesting use of an apostrophe in Casablancas
Wish the interviewer would asked better questions lol.. The most important one would any info on a new Strokes album? And why hasn't anyone asked Albert why doesn't him and Julian record a song together where they both sing on a Strokes album... Also...Albert doesn't like Led Zeppelin!?? 😐 Whaaaat!? lol
Damn how does he not know Di Fara pizza for someone that lived in NYC for so long
he’s not native to there, he moved during college days and shortly after he became very successful so he prolly didn’t have a whole lot of time to explore
Can someone do a timestamps????
U can time stamp by d 😂
15:40 I remember reading that story on some RUclips comment if i remember that correctly.
Shoot that was in Narduwar's interview. Now i remember that
Albert sounds like lead singer of mgmt both from new York when he talks
Dang sometimes he really does and now I can't unhear it lol
Albert is determined to catch that fly!
😛 😜 😝
Scott Lipp's
1:07:30 did AHJ forget that Reptilia was on Room on Fire? Lol
somebody give albert a damn chapstick
soooooooo cool
God please get my guy Nick Valensi on here if you can
You should put more love on the thumbnails
Timestamps??
Yea please!! It’s hard to navigate a whole hour interview
ID on the watch?
BAEE
Man this interviewer doesn’t know how to just let the guest talk
Timestamps for the love of god please
Tell me Lipps is a fan of Catan without telling me he's a fan
Love Albert but that Zeppelin comment was insanity
Caught me off guard too I hate the Beatles and love zeppelin to each their own lol
Nah, I don’t like Led Zeppelin either. Fucking boring as hell. Black Sabbath is where it’s at.
Get Nick Valensi onnnnn
No news for a solo tour??? C'mon maaaaaaan 😢
Indeed, so weird, especially since he was so enthusiastic back then when he toured Francis Trouble. He was all about something along the lines of "I finally fully am my comfortable self on stage" and now even scrapped the handful of shows he initially announced for the States without any apparent reason.
The worst use of an apostrophe in a title goes to...
here's a multi millionaire whose pinning the top of his shirt up with a safety pin. I guess he really likes that shirt, huh? 😂 or idk, maybe I'm unaware of this as some kind of style choice, (i can't remember the last time ive seen that). great interview and he seems like a cool dude, theres plenty of better things to talk about pertaining the interview but i can't help it, it's like the fedex arrow, i can't unsee it 😂
It’s Rock n Roll man
Did Albi get some hair plugs?
He uh, has hair.
The interviewer is insufferable 🆘
this interviewers unfckinbearable
Julian forgetting lyrics and going off rhythm..go
This interviewer suhhhhhhhhhcks.
I don’t like Led Zeppelin either.
The only Strokes member whose solo efforts have sometimes bested the band (e.g., In Transit is better than any Strokes song; as are others).
nah
Crazy take
🤣🤣🤣
No way
His solo work is terrible in my opinion. Just awful.
