    I like the opening band better. also great job being able to pivot when something went wrong and figured out how to make it work. that's the signs of a professional soumd engineer. keep doing what u do

      They are a great band that gets better every year. He was actually missing a couple band members at this show. Lots of talent on stage.

    spring clamps or lockjaw pliers make an easy way of anchoring cables :) so I now expect you'll have done all this, and then decide to go for IEMs for the musicians/singers (singers are musicians) for all bands in the future. I love your M32 and X32 cases. I'm sure it should be possible to do all the monitors and FOH from one console, but obviously lots of switching of displays/controls. Are you considering a multi-track recording from them, or just a stereo feed for livestreaming and recording concerts?
    And yes, the joy of live soundchecks when the band shows up an hour late.

      IEM vs wedges isn't really the venue's choice.... though, having both available for bands is always a good thing if you can.

      I was thinking about some P16s or the Midas version for the drums and a couple iem packs for other people. Looking into some options

      Lockjaw pliers! Great idea lol I know this works I just always forget. Not sure on the IEMs. I still have a lot of artists that just want good live monitors. Yeah I normally do everything in one console, but If I have it might as well use it right? lol I want this venue to be a place bands want to play. So if I can improve how they feel on stage I'll give it a try. Thanks for watching and being in the comments!

    For those 2 unused jacks, I'd just bridge them to the other jack. Then you'd have the option to daisy chain off the wall jack instead of lopping speakers together.
    I hope that makes sense, I have tried typing it 3 different ways but I can't word it properly.

      I might even do that. I needed to run another monitor their this week. I have to run more cable next week. We might just do that.

      @@DCAVL I guess you're using active monitors ... so how are you running your power cables?
      Any thoughts of going to "ethernet" cabled monitors in the future?

    • @DCAVL
      @DCAVL  4 месяца назад

      @@makingmusiconline2309 no I run passive monitors. I prefer them most of the time. The box I installed he was talking about jumping cables to another connection. I have to make some changes in the system because I had a cable die on my couple nights ago. So we will continue this stage monitor journey next week lol

    AES50 is quite picky with its cables. Always use a cable that has a shield all the way through. I've had good luck with the CAT6A ethercon cables from thomann.
    I check with a multimeter to see if it's actually connected all the way through.

    • @DCAVL
      @DCAVL  4 месяца назад +1

      It was crazy. I had nice shielded cables and both of them had something going on. Never used before. Little cheep network cable from the bar stayed connected. AES50 is not my favorit. I'm really into dante these days.
      Thanks for watching Bart!!

      @@DCAVL Really sounds like a cable issue to me. AES50 works fine between x32 and M32 from my experience. We do 2-3 shows weekly with a x32 Rack as Stage Monitor Console and M32 @ FOH.
      Only difference being that we use DL32 as a stagebox and our monitor console is controlling the headamp / gain on all channels, so our FOH guy gets digital trim only. But it works great. For like 5-6 years now

    • @DCAVL
      @DCAVL  4 месяца назад +1

      @@TinoSchulz1990 it 💯 was the cable. Sad thing was that I had 2 bad cables. After you use your back up you start questioning if it's the cable. After I got the crappy cat5 from the bar it worked all night. So guess I'm buying new shielded cables.

      @@DCAVL nah unless it is power. just put some cable hangers or zip tie on a screw to hold it to the 2x6. Just not on the ground. If your site is inspected by the city then you may have to hop through some hoops getting to code.

      I like to have 4-6 ethercon's on a snake to house. It's cheap if you run them all at one time.

    Good cables aren't important. Wiggle wiggle wiggle YEAH! (then apply lots of gaff tape) Not having a monitor tech/desk sucks, cause friends don't let friends mix monitors. Seeing the low number of inputs, looks like 11 inputs on deck, you could just double up your channels and get independent gains and q's. 1-16 House, 17-32 Monitors using inputs 1-16 (remember to flip pages). That way my lazy azz doesn't have to move a desk. What if the band has 24 inputs? Just put the vox and whoever else is being "extra special person" on doubled. Not perfect but neither is moving the other desk and still cheaper than a monitor tech. FYI, More beer for me and I'm asking for a raise.
