Bought one new in 93 for the wife - it was fantastic. What always amazed me was the seat only adjusted fore/aft and backrest angle, with no steering wheel adjustment, yet we both found a perfect driving position. Proof that good design overcomes the need for 18 way electric seats that lazy car designers resort to.

That is an absolute pip, a real beauty. I had two K11s, loved them. My first went over 220K and was going strong until a horrible little twokker crashed into me.

  • @MuscleBandit
    @MuscleBandit День назад +5

Lovely rare example that Matt. I just gave away my 2002 K11 to a mate who does food delivery as he needed a car. These have started getting to the point whereby parts are discontinued so owners are having to shop around for second hand parts, in certain cases.
Heater regulator chips always go leaving just the full fan speed, I got a new chip from Ebay for a few quid and replaced it myself in about 4 minutes in the passenger foot well.
Try to get one without electric windows as they WILL keep breaking.
Try to get one without a sun roof as it WILL start leaking.
The lacquer on the paint WILL start to peel as your (perfect example) has proven.
They WILL need under sealing and owners will need to stay on the look out for corrosion including the cross member in front of the radiator as water will pool inside it causing this issue.
Otherwise, they are a cult modern day classic for good reason, they will run with basic maintenance until they rot away in years to come because of how simple cheap and dependable they are.
Parts which have not yet been discontinued are some of the cheapest on the market.
The K11 is the only car I have had two of, a 1.4 manual and a 1.0 manual and they were both amazing little cars.

Also, no; you're not supposed to use that Disability-assist knob with two hands. It's designed so that folks with severely limited arm/hand strength can turn the wheel more easily with just ONE hand. _Maybe_ if you ever find another one of these being offered to you, perhaps have your brother go pick it up for you. I miss cars like this pure simple engineering lest things to go wrong and that has been garaged all its life and extremely looked after that’s why it is in such fantastic condition. Used to work on these back in the day.glad u have had an enquiry about that coz a car that old with that mileage doesn’t hang about for long. Best of luck to the new owner and happy driving to them.

What a neat little car that Micra is, it looks immaculate now that all the touchups have been done, and with a manual sunroof and windows, it's less to go wrong with it electronically, and being 30 years old, you won't need to pay the road tax which was quite high for a 1275cc Micra, I definitely think that you'll get the money that you're asking for it Matt, I hope that the first person that's shown interest in the Micra that you mentioned decides to buy it, the best of luck.

One of the best cars ever made, loved my Mum's 1.3 LX - I so wanted that engine in my Old Mini 1275GT - what a combo that would have been
I also really share your enthusiasm for the Micra

I love old cars like this, there's something so appealing about it's simplicity. Sure AC, central locking and hydraulic steering would be nice but I'd still drive it with pleasure. I've driven one before owned by a family member and they are fun to drive, like a little cart, because of it's low weight it accelerates quicker than you'd imagine despite the 1.3 engine.

Save the old cars!!!! A rare find and yes it may just be a Micra but this will be bought by someone with nostalgia, as these may be someone’s first driving lesson car or relative/parents car back in the days. Glad Matt is saving some old cars. Old cars over new anyday. Also big up Retro plates, they are brilliant.

My mate bought one in 96 when he moved to London - his was also one lady owner.
At the time I thought he was mad, but he ran that little thing for 12 years without issue - non descript, no one would nick it and it was cheap as chips to run, utterly reliable.
    Crackin little motor!

Flimsy. My bike had it's clutch cable end pull off just as I stopped behind one of these as I went into neutral, making the clutch jump back as it was just disengaging 2nd gear to neutral and the bike moved forwards from stationary @ 2' at idling speed.
The bike's front tyre caved in the bumper and entire portion behind the bumper of the Micra in front of me.
Dread to think anyone would survive a severe crash in one of these if 2' movement from stationary, at idling speed, from a 390 lbs. bike could do that amount of damage..
    The bike? No damage whatsoever.
Swore never to buy a Nissan for 2 reasons, one was this.
