I love this style of racing. It starts off clean until the first bent panel or flat tire then it's like a drop of blood in a shark tank. Just an all out free for all!
@@C64Lover They used to have to modify them so the drivers didn't die, CB Contact is for cars with modern safety standards, seems like a pretty small oval, so they don't go that fast either. I’m surprised a few of these cars still had dashboards, windscreens, plastic bumpers, dashboards etc. I thought all that was supposed to be removed before racing?
How is a winner declared in Bangor races? Laps or last one running? Is the concept like team derby where you have runners(make laps) and blockers (that block for the runner and try to take out the other teams runner)?

It's funny seeing modern banger racing, when I was a kid it was all old Sierras, granadas, Volvo 240 estates and other such 70s and 80s junk, that was knackered and rusty. Now it's stuff you still see frequently on on road that still looks modern and not like a "banger" should.

I did banger racing in the early 70s, when i think of all the cars, now classic, that were smashed up.
Venerable Jaguar X-Type and Volvo stood up to a lot of bodywork restyling!
Aren't these both rebodied fords actually?
c64power.com - the X-Type was based on the Mondeo platform and built by Jaguar under Ford ownership but I’m not sure about the Volvo.

Its determined by laps, so in a way both are true, the last man standing usually is first because he completed the most laps, not always true though
