- As with any other form of Motorsport, Spectator Drags includes some crashes. Here is a compilation (as has been requested a few times) of cars hitting the wall/tire-wall during spectator drags. Everyone was ok. All footage filmed by Carbon Video from 2012-2017.

That was unfortunately the very last mustang in that body style to have ever been captured on film fully intact before going extinct due to disadvantaged evolutional traits. Very sad moment.

I SHOT UP THE WALMART I DID full coverage doesn't matter. Soon as your car hits the track your coverage is null until you leave. You crash on the track your insurance will tell you to take a hike it's not their problem.

you're going to take your daily driver and do this, you better be willing to accept the outcome, whatever it is.
I run my car at Oxford. I realize and accept the risk because it's also some of the most fun I've ever had. That being said, I'd be absolutely devasted if my car got wrecked. At least on the track, it's a controlled environment with only one other vehicle to worry about. Far more uncontrollable variables driving on the street.

I know a guy who regularly races his new car in time trials. Less chance of wrecking when you're all by yourself but still plenty of people put their cars into the wall. The look on his wife's face when he told her insurance *doesn't* cover damages if he wrecks... LOL.

Has everything to do with the driver. Every mustang burnout crash video I've seen has been a direct result of the idiot behind the wheel not knowing when to lift. I race my Mustang and do burnouts with it all the time, never had this problem. Too many fools think they can handle a high powered short wheelbase car and find out the hard way that they can't.
Yes, it would be easier in a different car. Which is why unskilled drivers shouldn't buy a Mustang. That's the point I've been making here, sorry you missed it.

There's an odd amount of crashes where the non crashing car was a Subaru
I think it's just a northeastern US thing, you pretty much NEED AWD or 4WD, and Subaru seems to be the winner in that part of the country. So everyone out there has an extra one or 2 subies to beat up

A C6 Corvette, not one, but *two* DSM Eclipses (the heavily sought after first gens to boot), and the '75 C-10 and '83 C-10 both... That's probably close to a hundred grand in cars before the damage.

6:21 was a masterful slide, executed almost perfectly, the resulting crash, burnouts and doughnuts were worth him not completing the drift but it looked like he had it!

It's a lot harder than it looks. I've never run at Beech Ridge but I can tell you that Oxford does not have a lot of grip.
These cars aren't fully designed to run an oval track....some of it also has to do with inexperienced drivers
comibation of inexperienced drivers, cars with lots of torque, and the turn lends itself so that a lot of them were shifting as they were coming out of the corner. Dropping the clutch instead of rolling on the power, especially in those torquey cars will cause you to spin out like that

I think it was the guys on the outside who won more times. They "diamoned" the first turn which gave them a better line through the second turn to keep it in the throttle, while also pinching the inside guy off a little. I don't know if this would work so well with multiple laps; but for one it does fine.

Pretty sure a local oval on a Saturday night should have it. That's how I lucked into it to see it in person! Have spent many years racing karts and had a rental Mustang that weekend. Was tempted to have a go it was the having it go bad that I wanted no part of. The guy who made it to final put his car in the wall. They asked if he wanted a tow truck." Tow truck ? I can't even afford the fucking insurance!" So glad I had more brains than balls that night! Best time on a real track was a pace car ride for Toronto race and driving my own car on the F1 track in Montreal. At a really low speed ☹️. Track split for cars and people.
