Monstrous gains for just boltons. It should easily be an 11sec car at this point even on the stock ECU tune. The car will be a beast once tuned. Thanks for taking the time to dyno all the various changes to the car!🤙🏻

John, one important question. You ported the primary CATs at some point, then removed the cats and put straight pipes there and got overboost. Now you said "We put the stock CATS" back in. Are you referring stock cats that were ported or did you go buy new unported CATS to put just like it came from manufacture? Another words, when you offer a package, will the package require porting the primary CATs? Since thos cats were very restricted.
Ben Hayat we are running the ported cats, but they didn't add any additional horsepower (we have dyno results). We will have some options available when we get this last round of testing done.
Thanks for the clarification on the porting. It actually makes your packaging simpler without modifying the CATS (Cutting them). Just saw the review on Genesis G70 that uses the same engine. Hopefully your package can also work on the G70 as well. Many customers probably won't opt for Piggyback ECU as it could create other side effects. So, a "Hardware" parts package might be the best package to give this car a nice power and let it's own computer to adjust for the extra air flow.
Wow.. I'm taking my Stinger GT in for a Dyno in few days as stock to see what the numbers are.. I only have K & N filters in my oem boxes. getting snorkel scoops soon to help direct air in there. I don't want the larger cold air type, personally.. Question, car is tuned oem, to run on 91 as preferred octane, so will the ecu recognize 93-94 octane and make any changes to the mapping to run better with that ? and any more HP from doing that without a tuner ? or will it only run cooler and healthier, but ecu will not do anything, Zero for running on it with more HP, even if only the wee bit slightest ? ... I've got some 1/4 vids up and will have more this week coming.. hope you'll watch some of mine
This car makes more than 365 at the crank they've understated it's numbers just like bmw and audi do with their cars. This is a 400+hp car stock hence why it performs similarly or better in acceleration stock as the 2013 genesis Rspec 5.0 v8 which had 429hp.
The Genesis R-spec 5.0 v8 sedan was north of 4200lbs. Depending on how it's specced a Stinger GT comes in between 3,800-4000lbs. And, peak torque doesn't come on in the R-spec until relatively high in the rev range (5000rpm), while the Stinger gets peak torque from something like 1300rpm on up. That is a big reason we are seeing similar times between the two despite the difference in hp. That, and the fact that the Genesis R-spec just wasn't that refined of a powertrain. Hell, I drive a Taurus SHO (keeping an eye on the stinger to replace it eventually). It comes with 365hp 350ft/lbs stock and does similar times to the R-spec despite being heavier at 4400lbs and down 60+hp. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from the Stinger. It's a beast and could be somewhat underrated from the factory, but it's not as underrated as you're saying. Even going by the stock dyno results in the video, it would not be at 400+hp crank stock. 340*1.15=391hp.
Jose Ayala we are using a Dynojet. We suspect that the engine was underated. The drive train is also very efficient, so I would assume its at 12% loss, putting the engine at 390 crank horsepower. It could be a possibility we got a factory freak.
Rod Parry we are running in STD becaise that is the norm for Korean tuners. SAE only lost 7 to 8 WHP, dropping us down to 335 whp. If the request is there, we will make a STD to SAE video to show the differences.
John Bremo when I said, "deep pocket" I meant the 3.3TT with a sticker price of $54,000. I don't need 4 cars. When I trade my beemer in. I'm thinking about selling other one
John Bremo well sir that wasn't a fair comparison shoes cost a lot less than a car. And not to mention that it cost a lot to maintain the car's proper maintenance, but what ever floats your boat. The two cars that I have hybrid Toyota Camry and my m3 beemer I love them both but just keeping them clean is one thing but I hardly drive the bimmer becoz it doesnt get goid gas mileage, so i mainly drive the hybrid camry
So you said no tune yet, but then you said you are running LAP3 p-n-p box, are these figures before using the LAP3 or with the LAP3? By tune, you just mean you haven't messed with ECM tuning, just the box, right? These are really impressive figures. Nice vids.
Correct, I do not view a piggy back PNP box as a tune. Its working well, and making good power, but the true potential of a tune, will be inside the ECU. I am very impressed with the PNP box, hopefully we will be able to hit the 1/4 mile soon, and see if the dyno matches up with the 1/4 mile results.
The transmission is rated over 1000nm by KIA (in the factory service manual). Hopefully that is correct, and we have a very long time before we have to do anything to the transmission.
Oh, any advice on octane boosters re: if they work on Stinger (again, ecu adjust or not) and if it's safe to use once in a while or better stay away for engine safety, parts, warranty, etc. ?
Have you done any testing with 87 Octane gas in a stock car? All of my testing has shown that in cooler weather with a stock car the Octane of the gas doesn’t matter.
Tork Motorsports it isn’t that high of a compression ratio. The Stinger has a 10:1 compression ratio. The 2020 Supra has an 11:1 compression ratio and the S4 is 11.2:1. All of those have turbo engines as well. Also Kia only recommends 87 or above. They do say it can lose power in some conditions but those conditions are never defined. Just curious if you have ever tested it stock or know of someone who has put a Stock Stinger on a dyno with 87 octane in cooler conditions? Stock it should perform the same. However, with any modifications or in higher temperatures it should require higher octane fuel.
I’m curious if you’re planning on playing with a new gt-line 2.5T in the future. I’m very interested is seeing how much power was left in the table with the 2.5T and I’d love to see one in RWD tuned.
We already have a 1/4 mile video up, no tune. We are looking at April 1st for the next track day, and if all goes well, we will have the new spark plugs installed also!!!
so would putting bolts on (including cat delete) be able to not-infringe upon the Factory warranty? Would Kia be able to tell that the car was modified with bolt ons even if the ECU tune was stock?
Brian Chen cat deletes throw the ECU into a fit, to much boost for the factory ECU to deal with. So, warranty or not, cat deletes are not going to work.
so aside from cat delete, if I were to make things very clean and reverse it well, they may not be able to tell? Would they look at ECU parameters and determine the modification?
If you were to reverse everything... it should be easy to avoid any warranty issues. But... we are going to work on getting the limits figured out, so we know what's safe, and whats running a risk of failure.
I know you posted a long time ago but though I'd chime in. Secondary cat deletes seem to be fine, no issues and I've been running that way for 6 months now.
Wouldn't these cars run lean on WOT/open loop without a tune? Coming from other cars, tuning necessary when adding breathing mods to make sure the fuelling matches the increased airflow. Otherwise you run the risk of lean running in particular on open loop.
The ECU's have target fueling always in monitoring. There is not really an "open loop" in newer cars, the lambda sensor is always active making on the fly changes.
And the JB4 unit is? It's still a piggyback. Also, with this car being direct injected, the HPFP might not have the capacity to pump enough e85. I know that is the case with a similar engine in the 3.5l ecoboost.
I'm wondering if all this can be done to the G80 that has the same engine and transmission. I cannot find the intakes for the G80 but I see that they make them for the stinger. Any advice.
Kia pulled one out of their ass didnt they lol right out of left field. Honestly I like them a lot. The look and sound good. Tuning potential gotta love that.
Tork Motorsports the only thing I really know is Borla exhaust are 1,500$ an so are Jun b.l but I really don’t know about cat deletes 😹😹😹 I just want my shit to be fast
secondary cat deletes I would recommend, primary cat deletes I wouldn't do yet. There are some issues with the ECU we are trying to resolve this week. With all the cats deleted and very cool nights we are running into compressor overspeed codes (turbo overspeed) and we need to resolve that before we start tuning for primary cat deletes.
Robert Cary GDI applications run into fueling supply issues when you swap to E85. We will be looking at some different fueling options when we start tuning.
john jackson not that at all. The engineers have strict guidelines for emissions control, those guidelines are 30 years old. I can make a car run cleaner and get better mileage and still pass emissions, because I do not have to adhere to manufacturing guidelines for emissions compliance.
Try lighten up the car abit and it should get in the high 11s. I drive a stock RS3 with 400hp and it does the 1/4 in 12.2sec. Power to weight is the key.
Tork Motorsports i understand. In order to get this car to the high 11s without weight reductions, i reckoned you need a remap to get over the 500hp to make up its weight. Keep up the good work though..
Call me a skeptic but that just sounds unbelievable from just bolt on's and no tune on otherwise stock motor. I guess I will hold my final judgement until I see the track numbers. Track numbers tell more than dyno numbers in my book.
I watched the only video I could find which is titled "Modified Kia Stinger GT Runs the 1/4 Mile" is that the one you referring to? I saw you ran 12.5 @110 which is impressive but I guess I was referring to what you would run with your current dyno numbers. Your dyno numbers are close to what my bolt on E85 6th gen Camaro SS is running and I am putting down mid\low 11's with street tires on stock 20 inch rims. I would expect similar numbers (given the right DA and track conditions obviously) from the GT especially since it should be much easier to launch.
I used to think these were pieces of crap until I lost the one in my Evo new respect gained didn’t realize they were turbo I’m assuming this is the highest trim
Crazy Chris Unlikely but if true why would they do that? I can understand 10 or 15 hp but 40 hp? Also, the results in real world don't suggest the 407 hp either. Dynos all read differently depending on how the tuner sets it up. Not being a cynic, just being skeptical. Either way, this car is taking the automotive, journalist world by storm. Good on them, Kia.
Bryan Giraldo actually, we had this debate on the forums. We went out, found 4 other Stinger dyno sheets, and all of them were within 2% of our readings. So, either all the dyno's read high, or all Stingers dyno the same :)

Have you done any testing with 87 Octane gas in a stock car? All of my testing has shown that in cooler weather with a stock car the Octane of the gas doesn’t matter.
I have not done any 87 octane testing, to be honest. A high compression high boosted engine shouldn't be ran on low octane.

No, the 455 was with the piggy back (uncle chip I think) on the car.

@M A. full e85 maybe 👀
Did you change plugs?
Yes, after the intercooler.
So no news on cracking the ecu? Still just piggybacks? Why not try the racechip usa or burger jb4 units? The jb4 for example has e85 tunes available.
E85 and GDI require specific tuning, something that a piggy back will not adjust for. The piggy back on the car is working wonderful right now.
Tork Motorsports yes the lap3 unit is not capable.
And the JB4 unit is? It's still a piggyback. Also, with this car being direct injected, the HPFP might not have the capacity to pump enough e85. I know that is the case with a similar engine in the 3.5l ecoboost.

If you are worried about warranty, then modding shouldn't be on your list of things to do.
Do these modifications void factory warranty? if they do, which mods are allowed that wouldn't void the warranty?
No mod will void a warranty, they have to prove that the mod voided the warranty.
How long will the stock tranny and diff survive these torque levels though? Thats a massive increase over stock
The drivetrain is very robust, I do not think we will have any problems until we hit 800 + torque.

Im having a hard time trying to decide whether to get the g70 or the Stinger. Plz. Help!
If I had to do it again, I would have gotten the G70. I like the look of the car more than the Stinger. You honestly cannot go wrong with either one.
Tork Motorsports I need to check out the g70 up close personal and by taking a test drive, but their both awesome performing beasts
@@TorkMotorsports I'd take the Stinger over the G70.
so the cat delete in this video, is both cats removed or just the secondary?
Both
When you did the muffler delete was it with the stock exhaust
Yes
I'm wondering if all this can be done to the G80 that has the same engine and transmission. I cannot find the intakes for the G80 but I see that they make them for the stinger. Any advice.
Find me a local that has a G70/80/90 and we will start making parts for the car and testing those for you guys.
@@TorkMotorsports i actually traded the G80 3.3 T for the Stinger GT2.
I believe the 3.3l stinger has forged internals or at least rods
Yes, rods and very well designed pressure cast pistons.
@@TorkMotorsports Thanks for the clarity.
I wonder if you could swap this motor into a genesis coupe? Cause the G70 genesis uses the same motor
Its already been done.
Jus doing the muffler delete will gain hp an intake?.. btw i have 2012 kia optima sx-t
Manny787 yes, video explains it all.
Once those cats come out and an ECU flash. 500WHP easily.
Brandon Alger yes indeed!!! Cannot wait to start tuning the ECU in the car, 500 whp is going to be so easy!!!
Cat delete larger downpipes and midpipes and aggressive tune and colder spark plugs should be closer to 600WHP!
@@TorkMotorsports what do you mean by front mount. Are you talking about intercooler upgrade?
@@davidagurcia4121
Yes. FMIC
@@davidagurcia4121 yes, intercooler upgrade.
Is this the RWD or AWD Stinger driver train?
(I have the RWD)
This is RWD.
@@TorkMotorsportsperfect
Someone please reply, just by running 93 octane, bigger intercooler, intake, and muffler delete you achieve 455WHP and 500 lb feet of torque ???
We just made 470 WHP with bolt on's and tune.

@@TorkMotorsports that’s insane dude great work. You single handedly got me saving up for a stinger as my next vehicle
@@TorkMotorsports is it similar power gains to an AWD stinger?
@@speedtab215 yes
Is there anyway to bypass the stock cats to get more power?
I am going to say yes, but unless its a race car... deleteing the cats or "bypassing them" is illegal.
No tune between 91 and 93 ?
Just let the computer adjust for more octane
Steve Givelas sorry, those were the different settings on the PNP piggy back box.
which intake did you use, your product? And were the plugs changed using the lap 3? Thank you!
Our intakes and yes, we had the HKS plugs in the car.
Kia pulled one out of their ass didnt they lol right out of left field. Honestly I like them a lot. The look and sound good. Tuning potential gotta love that.
What happens if you put some octane booster juice in there?
You pick up a little performance.
How much would all that cost I’m trying to do it to mines I already have the intakes but how much is everything else
Og Popsicle I will have a better idea when we start manufacturing our parts. If I had to guess? $3000
Tork Motorsports the only thing I really know is Borla exhaust are 1,500$ an so are Jun b.l but I really don’t know about cat deletes 😹😹😹 I just want my shit to be fast
Tork Motorsports also if you got anything left around let me buy it 👀💪🏾
Og Popsicle fast is going to be what we do.
Tork Motorsports how long before production
I mean what did you do to increase the hp
👌
Is this awd? Rwd? Or engine dyno?
looks like it slows down up top, bigger single turbo could fix that but at the cost of that nice torque.
Zcypot yes, we need to address the boost galling off up top.
Is this the stage 1 bench flash tune?
No tune on this car, this is just adding a piggy back.
😍😍😍👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
need to tune a 2018 kia stinger can u remote tune the car or need to be in with the car
Just need the ECU, tuned several this week. Check out our website at damnfastdd.com
im goin to be making some custom donwpipe for it this week
guess call tomorrow to see what can we do
secondary cat deletes I would recommend, primary cat deletes I wouldn't do yet. There are some issues with the ECU we are trying to resolve this week. With all the cats deleted and very cool nights we are running into compressor overspeed codes (turbo overspeed) and we need to resolve that before we start tuning for primary cat deletes.
Holy crap when are you going to throw E85 at it?
Robert Cary GDI applications run into fueling supply issues when you swap to E85. We will be looking at some different fueling options when we start tuning.
Tork Motorsports really? I guess I don't know that much about direct injection. Anyway thanks for the info and I'm lovin these videos of the Stinger
Where are you guys based out of?
Seattle WA area.
Dumb question, how much is the fuel consumption now?
Kangwei Tan its actually better now, if I can keep from having fun all the time ;)
Damn, that's great.
john jackson not that at all. The engineers have strict guidelines for emissions control, those guidelines are 30 years old. I can make a car run cleaner and get better mileage and still pass emissions, because I do not have to adhere to manufacturing guidelines for emissions compliance.
john jackson its not about worse mileage, or performance... its the stupid 30 year old guidelines.
john jackson you have compromises with any internal combustion engine. You can only choose two of the three, power, economy, emissions.
What is a front mount
Front Mount Intercooler.
Is that the lap3 uncle or protuner?
That was the lap3 uncle chip or something like that.
Up until now, how much has all this cost?
Lumi J if I had to guess, around $3000
Tork Motorsports That's really good for the gains you got. Keep it up man!
Is this wheel or crank hp?
Always wheel horsepower from my shop ;)
Try lighten up the car abit and it should get in the high 11s. I drive a stock RS3 with 400hp and it does the 1/4 in 12.2sec. Power to weight is the key.
We are trying to avoid anything like that, we want a full weight car running 11's so no one is questioning how we made it happen.
Tork Motorsports i understand. In order to get this car to the high 11s without weight reductions, i reckoned you need a remap to get over the 500hp to make up its weight. Keep up the good work though..
We think its going to take 450 to 470 WHP and a very good launch. We will know soon enough :)
Where is your shop located?
Auburn WA
How much would it cost $$$ to get my stinger at the same as this one?
$10 to $12K but, good parts are getting hard to come by at affordable prices.
From where could I order all these parts and will it be safe to tune it?
torkmotorsports.net
So if i do a muffler delete ill get hp?
Yes
Needs big turbos. The top end gains would be huge.
We are working on that.
can't wait 'til you post the video of the transmission exploding...I'll get the popcorn
Well, someone has to find the limits of the transmission, right?
mitchlu factory rating of the trans is 1000 + nm. I doubt we will have to worry about that for a very long time.
Calculated Risk we plan on doing exactly that :) the more limits we find, the less the customers will have to worry about :)
I agree with that...good idea.
AFR@ WOT?
All over the place.
So this car makes 510 bhp and 560 tq ? 😮
yourfast07 500 wheel torque and 455 wheel horsepower.
Call me a skeptic but that just sounds unbelievable from just bolt on's and no tune on otherwise stock motor. I guess I will hold my final judgement until I see the track numbers. Track numbers tell more than dyno numbers in my book.
Torian Richardson look at our 1/4 track result video :)
All the numbers are adding up. Car with me in it weighs 3850 lbs.
I am going to go look now.
Can someone please do downpipe intake intercooler and stage 2 tune
Is there an updated video on what has been accomplished with the stinger now?
Not yet, soon.
Dyno Jet... The gains are nice however.
Yes dynojet dyno, and the gains are amazing considering it never made an attempt to stop parts from making additional power.
@@TorkMotorsports all good, they're just a tool. If you showed gains going from a Mustang or Mainline to a Dyno Jet I would be suspect. Lol
@@JordieG8 I always stick to the same dyno (Dynojet in house) so we don't get the conflict of using different dyno's.
340 whp is like 400+hp at the crank...

My car is the lowest trim, with the 3.3TT engine.
Wait, so stock the car is about 400 hp stock?
Crazy Chris Unlikely but if true why would they do that? I can understand 10 or 15 hp but 40 hp? Also, the results in real world don't suggest the 407 hp either. Dynos all read differently depending on how the tuner sets it up. Not being a cynic, just being skeptical. Either way, this car is taking the automotive, journalist world by storm. Good on them, Kia.
Anyone hit 500/500 yet?
Not yet, not tuning options are available... yet :)
@@TorkMotorsports You should update this man, I know you've gotta be close to this by now!
he said 91 octane tune... no way this car makes 455 whp just with a couple bolt ons
Sorry you feel that way.
This dyno reads way too high
Bryan Giraldo actually, we had this debate on the forums. We went out, found 4 other Stinger dyno sheets, and all of them were within 2% of our readings. So, either all the dyno's read high, or all Stingers dyno the same :)
Turbo upgrade 700hp easy
Easy!
Too bad it's just a 4 cylinder. Not like a v8 were just bolt ons you can get over 500hp
The Fitness Life It's a twin turbo V6, not a 4 cylinder.
The Stinger is 2.0T I4. The Stinger GT is 3.3TT V6.
