    Loving the white color this year. It's SUPER CLEAN
    Couple notes:
    - These are engineering samples don't have the new Microsoft Copilot key on the keyboard. It will be on the retail units
    - The Legion Pro 7i has a 100% DCI-P3 panel instead of 100% sRGB

      get a dongle - I counted 3 usb c ports, put the dongle on one of them and you have ethernet, hdmi and other ports depending on the dongle. If you need ethernet, then I presume you're looking at a fixed work station and you might want to have a link to a larger monitor etc. In that case get your ethernet port on a desktop docking station complete with other ports inc hdmi, , extra usb ports etc.

    Air containment is a reliable solution in high thermal load environments like data centers to ensure air supplies and returns do not mix, and thus reducing cooling efficiency of the air supply. This solution may not net a huge boost in cooling, but it is a simple and inexpensive method where every little gain helps.

    Laptops look really good this year. I want to get a new one this year but I have been waiting for the release of thunderbolt 5. I'm hoping that the port allows for more efficient performance of laptops with eGPU's. I have no clue how much better could this be (if any?).
    If it's much better, I would be interested to have a more portable laptop with a good CPU and no GPU for my regular work, and then have the option to add the eGPU to the game at home.

      Since ive had my 2070s 4k oled omen for a couple years...i cant really consider anything other than 4k oled. Its perfect for CPU temps since its 4k...and PVE titles never looked better. DLSS3 support and what can go wrong. 4k OLED a controller and a proper seating angle/stance. Only reason i need a desktop for gaming is for AAA/maxed out options...or games like EFT which is bogged by its engine and needs a strong single core performer. If i didnt have such a good PC i could easily enjoy older titles with the 4k laptop. Plus its a huge QOL boost for ARPGS and content consumption bar none. Id rather play arcade racers at 4k with lower textures than something maxed on a lower resolution the image quality and colors just POP to a point where higher textures/shaders almost seem negligible at lower resolutions by comparison.

    Hi Dave,
    I was wondering if you are able to share whether the new 7i (non pro) is still all aluminum with a glass touchpad like the gen 8 or if they are scaling down the quality like they did with the pro model?

    BEWARE! They are a freaking scam! I ordered one Lenovo legion 7i laptop and was delivered one with a broken screen. I reported the error within hours and was told I broke it even though the crack is on the inside of the laptop and I couldn't have caused that even if I wanted to! They have a few in stock and want to get rid of their defective pieces now, stay away! I am still stuck with that piece, approaching consumer court now. Notice the hashtag ad in the description here!

    i have a question ragrd white laptops, i am thinking of buying the asus zephyrus in white but my question is, if the white is getting dirty over time like more and more yellow although i clean the laptop etc or can it stay white as long as i clean?

    • @kylerclarke2689
      @kylerclarke2689 3 месяца назад +4

      Do NOT buy white electronics, especially ones that you will have your hands all over. Yes they get dirty, scuffed, and show every speck of dust. They also yellow over time, there's no avoiding the effect of plain old light on white plastic. Source: every white mouse, controller, monitor, case I have ever owned (it was a phase)

    • @torcuen7160
      @torcuen7160 3 месяца назад +1

      I guess this really varies depending on the materials and the exposure to factors like dirt, sweat or exposure to UV light.
      I don't know how resistant to color change this laptop is, but I think that in most "common use cases" you might be safe as long as you clean it (But this is just my opinion, I could be wrong 🤷). I also agree with Kyle that if it does get dirty it will be easier to spot than darker colors.

    What is the case material of the Legion Pro 7i? Last year they moved away from all aluminum and the keyboard deck suffered from more flex and fingerprint. Is this more of the same carbon fiber / magnesium that we see in the ThinkPad P series line?
