Bruh the amount of emotional turmoil that Nikki went through when they made you think the mother killed her baby ... such a roller coaster of emotions
This movie was based in the 60s so a lot of men lacked that sensitivity back then and also it was a very trusting era. The door not being locked and him going to check on the neighbors when he heard a scream
Also, people left their kids alone a lot back then. This is before stranger danger.

Even though I feel this movie wasn’t the best and kind of cliche most of the time, the scene when she was tricked into thinking she killed her baby in my opinion was actually really awesome. Definitely one of the highlights of the film that actually made me pretty unnerved.

Cool story this was my first horror movie I watched as a kid at the theater. It was me, my dad, and my boy we went to the amc and oddly enough a bunch of kids from our school was there that night for whatever reason. So we bought the tickets and my dad walked us in, we bought food and started heading to the screen room then we faced a Karen built lady at the stand where you show the tickets, she said “you cannot watch this movie unsupervised so I can’t let you through” we sighed and turned around, we didn’t want my dad to watch it with us we wanted to feel all grown lol. So we called my dad and he walked us in, right after we sat down he walked out of the screen room and left the theater, he went home and left us there. So to keep it short the screen room was filled that night, it was a day or two after the movie came out I believe so the hype was real, the screen room full of adults and just us two 13 year olds and everyone was screaming! Lol while all the kids from our school was in the lobby flirting with each other and playing arcade games me and my broski were shtting ourselves watching the movie for hours, then we went home and had to sleep in the huge living room at home and heard noises coming from the basement as our living room stairs led to the front door then the basement, we had a paranoid night to say the least but it was great memories 😝
The women that buying Annabelle doll at the end is the mother of girl that we Saw in opening scene the Conjuring film. This movie take places before the Conjuring.
There is no gaslighting like horror movie husbands...
It's not specifically husbands, it's "those that aren't experiencing it themselves", whether they live in the home or not, but is typically the spouse. In horror movies following a family, typically only one person in a couple experiences supernatural stuff and for whatever reason, it's usually the woman. The plot needs the spouse to not be there (otherwise they'd experience it too), so the writers make up reasons as to why they have to be away from home at the times they want something to happen and then because said spouse weren't there to see anything until the plot needs them to, they're always the ones trying to come up with rational explanations. It's like horror trope nr. 2 in the unwritten horror movie manual, lol. In The Conjuring 2, it was the mother.

in the conjuring 2, the mother realizes pretty fast that there's something off. like 30 minutes in max (even though we're not in england until like 15 minutes in)
and there's a good reason for this trope to be a thing. it makes the audience feel more empathetic to the main character, and feel the isolation and frustration that he/she feels when no one believes them.
in this film, the woman is a housewife in the 60s so it makes sense for her husband to be away from her alot. it also makes sense for the demon to make his moves while its just her and the baby, to further break her down. and with the husband being a doctor (and still in the era when women could be placed in mental asylums for "female hysteria"), it makes sense for him to be skeptical.
so in this case, I think the trope is warranted.

Omg I was never spooked out about dolls until this movie...And when your dealing with children...it's even more scary. I love Nikki's reactions to Scary movies they are very relatable if you have children. I have one Daughter and she is 5 and everything that these parents just did, I would have never done with My child EVER regarding My child. I agree it makes it more entertaining watching Nikki's reactions because you can tell she has a pure heart and I love you guys reactions to movies! suggestion for you guys to watch! ready or not is an amazing horror/comedy (i know weird combination but works very well) film where the main character finally marries her boyfriend and meets his family (who he has been estranged from for most of his adult life). that night, after the wedding, (as per family tradition) the new arrival to the family, the main character, has to randomnly pick a game that she must play to be welcomed into the family and gets assigned hide and seek. let's just say some shit happens. brief warning though for some slight gore and fake blood.
LOL at Nikki 🤣🤣 I love the Conjuring universe. Annabelle: Creation is my favourite of the whole franchise and genuinely one of the scariest films I've seen (and as a lifelong horror fan, I don't scare much). Great movies imo.

The Raggedy Ann doll is the real one, like what Annabel is based on, it wasn't like the original movie design for Annabel.
Steven should get a tattoo of Nikkis hand mark like a squeeze. That would be adorable. I know a lot of people are scared or think couple tattoos can be a bad thing or cause bad karma. But I think it would be the cutest tattoo!

The company that makes Raggedy Ann they didn't want her associated with demons, so WB had to design the doll completely different for legal purposes. But the real Annabelle is in the Warren Museum of the items the Warrens kept form their cases.
Just discovered your channel and it’s definitely a fun one. Horror movies are my jam. The perfect genre for a reaction channel. I agree with you Steven about not judging movies as good or bad, but rather if they’re entertaining or not. Boredom is what a viewer doesn’t want. And I’ve seen some stinkers that I absolutely enjoyed because at the end of the day, they entertained in their absurdity. The Annabelle series of films are great and get so much better as they go along. Enjoy the Conjuring Universe! And keep those horror reactions coming!
Just couple little fun facts:
The Annabelle doll actually exist, it's really placed at glass box at Ed and Lorraine Warren museum, but it looks way more harmlessly. For these movies they designed new look, because the producers and directors wanted a doll, that would look creepy from the very beginning.
The apartment where this film was partly filmed, is the same place where some strange things should have happened in connection with Annabelle doll and it is also the same place where Ellen Degeneres had been living for a while, that should by confirmed by herself in one of her videos.
If you’re going too fast and don’t take your foot off the pedal in time when adjusting the fabric or taking out pins, yes it’s easy to sew your finger. I can only assume it gets better with experience.😂😂
"WHERE IS JOHN?!"
He's completing his residency - residents can end up working in excess of over A HUNDRED HOURS a week. They're technically not supposed to exceed 80 now in most states but in practice they often end up working more, and John here is doing it in the '60s, waaaaaay before limits were put in place. When they're able to get an hour or so of sleep, it's often at the hospital.
Imo, John being a scatterbrained mess who always says the wrong thing and isn't present for a good 90% of the film is one of the most realistic aspects of it. If you've ever spoken to a resident physician on the rare occasion that you see one outside of a medical setting, they're fuckin GONE, like unconscious on their feet, getting at most two hours of sleep a night for weeks at a time, don't know what month it is, etc.
That's scary being that they make life and death decisions..🤔
Nikki and Steven hating on the husband is so freaking funny to me cause I was the same way when I watched this movie 🤣 he makes so many bad and stupid decisions lmao

It's interesting to watch how horror movies affect you guys. Steven alters between smiling and making the same facial expressions as Zed in the Police Academy movies. Nikki alters between triggering her Tourette's syndrome and morse coding on nearby shoulders.
The 2nd movie of Annabelle is scarier than Insidious 1 and 2 combined
The priest is the voice actor for Kadgar in Warcraft. I keep expecting to hear him say "knowledge is power!"

I know Ed and Lorraine Warren are not in this film. However, they are really cool to research. Hearing about all their exorcisms, the museum and everything I find so interesting. I live in Connecticut and their buried an hour from me. Thinking of going by soon when the kids are at school and leaving some flowers.
