Great video, thank you for giving me a good look at the revolver that I just bought today! The dealer I bought it from wouldn't let me handle it because of the Corona virus. These are crazy times !!! I bought it for the same reason you carry it, I in countered a mountain lion three weeks ago hiking deep in the mountains by myself, with only my pocket knife for protection! Next time I hike solo, I won't soil my pants from fear!!!
Unless your range requires your firearm be carried in a hard, locking case, I see no problem with the cardboard box; it helps keep the price down. I usually take my gun to the range in a soft, padded case, and sometimes use a multi-gun hard case for storage. Same with magazines: when a gun comes with only one mag, I start looking for the higher-capacity version of the mags, assuming I like the gun enough to carry.
You are correct. It's just a pet peeve of mine that for all that money it comes in a cardboard box. I really don't need any more gun cases, it's the principal of it. I do love this gun tho.
I've had this bad boy since the last century lol. Great revolver, very accurate. My firing pin broke in half somehow though...on youtube now finding info on that.
Great video and I definitely agree with all your points on the baby I have the 3-inch M60 also and absolutely love it, love to carry it and love the look and feel. I did however swap some wooden altamont grips like you suggested and it was a game changer for me. I don’t however particularly enjoy running 357 through it just because it’s a work out after a few cylinder reloads but all in all one of my favorite revolvers ever!. Thanks for a great video
I, too, own a Model 60 with a 3" barrel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but constant feeding of .357 mag rounds into a j-frame revolver like the model 60 would eventually cause the forcing cone to crack and the crane (or swingarm) would eventually loosen up and wear out, although I do occasionally fire .357 rounds at the range when I'm of a mind to do it at that moment.
I always shoot .357 loads and never have a problem. Unless it is defective, it shouldn't crack. I can see hot loads but standard 357 loads shouldn't cause any damage to it.
I just bought this model in the .357/38 +p cal. It’s a beautiful gun. While I have a set of sequentially numbered Colt Defenders in .45 acp I absolutely love, I still have a crush on S&W revolvers. I mean there is nothing more reliable than a wheel gun and I wanted this to keep in my truck while out at the ranch. I bought a half case case of .38 +p on sale and intend to carry it loaded with those. I could handle the magnums, but my hands are usually beat up out there from working with fencing tools. Plus, I just couldn’t bare beating up my “twins” out there. If I had any idea how nice this Model 60 was going to be I would have had second thoughts about making it a work piece. (May have to buy an older used one.) Anyway, I really enjoyed the review and will subscribe for more. Thanks, G.W. P.S. Any hints or suggestions to make this one better would be appreciated although I can’t imagine improving on it.
I beg to differ on whether a 5 shot conceals better than a 6 shot. I have both, 640 Pro and 66-8, I appendix carry both and believe me (under normal circumstances) there’s no difference in conceal ability with either.
@@progun45 Thanks. I don't think I would fire a whole lot of .357s. I like this revolver better than the Kimber K6S 3 inch DASA. Next question. Is it possible to change out the front ramp sight for something that is more visible?
That is a Pro Series, not a Performance Center. Also that satin finish on it scratches easy and looks rough after awhile, and the night sights are garbage. I had a M19 Carry Comp Performance center and it had the night sights and were not worth anything. The Regular M60 is a far better buy to me than the Pro 60.
Absolutely correct advice, do not train with 38 special than carry 357 you wont hit a barn door.
My one and only gun I have ever owned. Just in case I ever find someone wanting to cause harm in my house.
It's a great gun and packs quite a punch. Thanks for subscribing.
I’ve had this model for a long while and I will say it’s probably my favorite. For me a keeper. Does have a little recoil like you said but not bad.
I love this gun, it's my favorite revolver.
Thanks for posting. Just bought a Model 60 (3-inch barrel). Can't wait to check it out!
You are going to love it!

It is a great revolver but not the most durable.

Glad you liked the video. I agree shooting .357 our of it can be a little harsh but it is a beautiful gun and one of my favorites.

@@progun45 Thanks for the info..
Really great gun❤
One of my favorites

It is a beautiful gun and well made. I like that it is very easy to carry and light weight and really packs a punch.
S&W M60 is standard issue weapon
Of the South Korean Polices.
I love that gun!
I wish I still had mine.
One of my favorite guns
I traded mine, but was lucky enough to get her back. Never again!
Great review, and great advice. Thanks 🙏
Thanks Brother
I have 60-14 with fixed sights 2 inch barrel. Kicks like a mule when shooting 357.
It is a lot of fun to shoot.

Beautiful !
Thank you!
My biggest concern is will it hold up to. 357 magnums being fired through it frequently.
I have shot thousands of 158 grain .357 magnum with no problems
@@progun45 Thanks. I don't think I would fire a whole lot of .357s. I like this revolver better than the Kimber K6S 3 inch DASA.
Next question. Is it possible to change out the front ramp sight for something that is more visible?
@@seanmathews1826 Yes.. Very easy. Just a pin.
Is that a model 60-15? It's a beauty.
Yes Sir, one of my favorite guns.
Not the performance center pro series with night sites, stainless steel with wood grip but still nice 👍

Looks like the exact same gun like there was in the show "my name"
It is a great gun.
Is this a K frame?
The Model 60 is a J Frame
