Where was this video when I started learning about this, the 30 minutes of this video are packed with some information and tips that took me a few hours worth of videos to learn about 😅
I taught for 20 years and I think you have some of the best explanation skills of anyone I've encountered. Very precise and concise, making it easy to understand. You and your crew are a lot of fun as well. Well done.
Awesome overview with reasoning on why you’re doing what you’re doing. Succinct. Principle based. Makes comprehension, retention, and application easy. You’ve done a lot of training and it shows. And have higher education than most, which helps with being able to train with brevity. I watch a lot of other climbers and they know their stuff from experience but don’t explain it as well.
Wow young man. Your a great mentor for all the cowboys out there. So pleased they book you to get the job done right. Great team work boys. Warm wishes from Cayton bay yorkshire England.
Nice video. When negative rigging what are your thoughts regarding the placement of your flip line and climbing line in terms of above or below the rigging line pulley. Thanks.
I think the best answer is to have the flip/climb line positioned in a place where you can bail out of the tree at any point. I prefer to have it further away from my saw, so I go below rigging.
1:14. It always blows my mind that homeowners would rather have a nice tree removed instead of doing a relatively simple home repair…like replacing a few pieces of fence! As a 30-year arborist who loves trees and shade, I’ll gladly trade off doing a few more home repairs in order to keep my trees!
Obligatory engagement comment: See this is good in theory. But maybe you should do it my way. Just flip-line up, struggle the whole way, never be comfortable because you can't sit in your harness, burn out your legs in 40 minutes and then cry yourself to sleep at night as the fatigue finally overtakes the soreness. I should mention - I only do this a few times a year, and am a complete amateur. Get on my level, VTS! 🧐

Why do most climbers leap frog and not shoot the line up? And also why do they climb up just to come back down? I am a new climber so just curious
