Love part 1. Looking forward to more. Staying up on the rim at the badlands is one of May's favorite locations. I think it is more about the photograpy and hikes for her. But, she is always wanting to go back.
Thanks Drew. Thanks for stopping in. Feels like forever since we chatted. You must have your notifications on, because it's been ages since I have posted. We have heard great things about camping on top of the rim, but have't checked it off our list yet. The Badlands are defiantly great for photos and hikes We did a few the next day, but still need to figure out how I tell that story with all the restrictions around filming National Parks. This will be where my video picks up on Part 2 as we make our way into Colorado. Anyhow, the Badlands are a really unique park with plenty of wildlife and geographic eye candy. We love this place and its a great stopping point as we travel out west.
@@FreysOnTheSide I think RUclips knows I stop by often to see if you have a new video. So the second it came out RUclips put it on my feed. That is a challenge with the NPS restrictions. I didn't even think of that.
The small church was certainly one of those “what’s that” as we were driving past. We were glad we stopped as it was a fun little memory of our trip out west.
Absolutely! It’s nice to work through an adventure with no set addenda. We were able to experience some amazing places. Can’t wait to share the rest of the trip out west.
YES - a sleeping bag, can you believe it!? Although I don't know the rating, seams pretty thin...lol. Play time is so much fun at camp. There is something special to watch the kiddo use their imagination and being comfortable outdoors.
@@FreysOnTheSide Even if there was a rating, I don't know if I would trust it. Haha. So hard to get an accurate rating these days unless you spend half a grand on a sleeping bag. It is great seeing your kids growing up and being so comfortable outdoors.
Thanks for sharing another family adventure. We have had peanut butter, hot sauce, olive oil, and a jar of taco seasoning due to vibrations so far and you are right it will happen again.
Having the wild life around camp was a fun experience, although you tend to have your head on a swivel, making sure they don't change their mind on being friendly. Stay tuned on our adventure out west, we have a few more encounters along the way.
Great video guys! Your kiddos are gonna laugh so hard at themselves when they’re older. 😂 Love how comfortable they are in front of the camera. They’re naturals!
Thank you! It’s fun to share our adventures. Watching these videos several years down the road is probably one of my biggest motivation. At one point I’d cut the video to make it flow better, leaving out some of the extended scenes. But found we selfishly enjoy the longer cuts of the trip to better remember.
I can only imagine. I am just starting my editing journey and I wouldn't even know where to start with that. Something I've always loved about your videos are your narrations. You have a great ability of weaving together narrations with your video that tells a great story.@@FreysOnTheSide
Awesome to hear from you! How have you been?! I have heard great things about the Overlook and defiantly need to check this spot out. This day probably would have been great, because I don't think the winds were all that bad.
We thought it was pretty cool! In fact, Part 2 has Carhedge in the journey. Funny you brought it up. I am sure they have patches, but honestly failed to look.
Whoa, I haven't seen your channel in a bit, you've gotten so good at making vids! Hey, did you get permission to use that song by The National Parks, How We Run? We're headed to the Tetons soon and I was wanting to use it. Didn't know if copyright was cleared on one of the services like Epidemic or Artlist.
Nice tight edit. Love it man. What do you think about having your tent on the Jeep Vs Trailer. The tent on my Jeep is annoying. Always having to tear down before going anywhere. I've thought about putting it on the trailer. Curious about what your experience is like. ALSO, I'm inspired. Need to road trip. Been living with cabin fever for 1.5 years. Can't wait.
How have you been?! Hope all is well and you enjoyed your summer. Great question on placement of RTT. Personally we like the tent on the Jeep, but yes it’s a pain - can’t park in the garage, gas mileage is horrible and parking in bigger cities is impossible with the height restrictions on parking ramps and there is always a bit of hesitation point the Jeep and trailer down an unknown trail. We have always found ourselves in “base camp” style Overlanding with the trailer. All that said, the benefit of having the tent on the Jeep is flexibility. We have the Jeep set up to be a self supporting camper, so if we break camp and either don’t make it back to the teardrop or don’t want to bring the teardrop, we can. Great to hear from you, sorry for the delayed response, as we on our way out of town for a TC Teardrop event. Get out there and enjoy living big in those small trailers.
Cool! I've been doing much better this year. 2022 was bumpy but crawling back pretty good - the reason I've had no videos lately too. Great explaination. I have the same gripes with it on the Jeep. We, too, do more of a basecamp style camping and my Jeep isn't set up for camping all the time. Mostly, it's set up for the teardrop business. Great feedback I appreciate it. @@FreysOnTheSide
Love the "take it one day at a time" mentality! Looks super fun!
Thanks for stopping in Fletch. I am pretty sure you earn the most loyal friend on our channel.
@@FreysOnTheSide Ha! I love watching you guys explore. The intro was the bomb too. 😀
Looking forward to the series!! 👌🏻

Alright RUclips! I probably surprised RUclips as well. Lol.
Man, that was precious hearing your daughter read part of the account of the crucifixion.
The small church was certainly one of those “what’s that” as we were driving past. We were glad we stopped as it was a fun little memory of our trip out west.
Love it! "Hey you didn't tell us there was the worlds largest candy store!". HA HA My kind of camping, no plans, relax, and take time.

Those REI stops never go well for us. We end up with way too many gadgets.
Ha, this is very true. The great minds of design always find a way to solve and issue I didn't know I had.
Was that a sleepign bag for barbie? Love it. Being a boy only dady myself, it is fun to see what your daughter brings to camp.

Right! Chalk this up as part of doing business. As we take the trailer farther off the beaten trial, the seemingly impossible to open...open.
That intro was bonkers! Nice!
Nice, the suck back out at the end too! Great trip so far, can’t wait to see the next chapter!
Glad you enjoyed the intro and outro. We have plenty of content to share from our trip out west. Stay tuned.
Very Nice Matt, the buffalo was cool seeing in the wild along with the prairie dogs

That intro!!! 😍💪❤🔥🔥Great to see the whole family out having a grand adventure! Why does the coffee creamer always have to spill, drives me insane lol
Thanks friends. The intro was a ton of fun to create. Blasted coffee creamer!
@@FreysOnTheSide I had to watch that intro like 3 times already lol and the tie in at the end was cool as well. Don't pet the fluffy cows?! :)
@Live2dayWanderland hahah check - No fluffy cows.
Also, it will be fun to watch the data on retention with the intro and the rewatched.
Also, not sure how you edited the eye effect… but WOW! That was incredible!
