Honestly I'm a lot more interested in this park after watching this than I thought I'd be. Totally agree about the theming on the boat ride, but it still looks like a pretty cool ride, I don't think I've seen one quite like that. Love the air conditioned queue for the tower ride, I wish more parks did that. Shame that the Intamin coaster wasn't open yet. I'm sad to hear they're already struggling, but I hope the word gets out and people start supporting it.
It's getting more attendees every day as word spreads! They had to have a soft opening after the delays due to staffing and supply chain issues. I live 10 minutes away and have already been twice.
The Lost Island Themepark was amazing! 🎢 We took our family a week ago and it had something for everybody. Love the rides and theming so much better than Six Flags or the other parks in KC or Des Moines. And the food was amazing! We ate at the Whalebone Grill and the entrees and sides were so unique and so good. You can tell they know what they're doing since they run one of the best waterparks in the US about a mile away. I agree with one of the other commenters about the lack of shade. It would be so great if they had some shade sails around, but it could also mess up the sight-lines that they've created. BTW - when you look at the park through a wide-angle lens, it's totally different than what your eyes see. It's a stunning park and a great price. Just get your tickets online instead of paying at the gate. 🥹
I hope they succeed. It looks like a fun couple of days when paired with the water park. And looking at the history of the water park I suspect they will continue to build and expand the theme park as well. If I can get there, I'd love to visit.
I got to say they really did a great job with this theme park. The overall landscaping looks beautiful the environment looks nice and clean. And the lands being its own theme is very creative. I really really hope this theme park catches a lot of tourists and guests in the future including enthusiasts if they ever decide to add new rides to its lineup. Because I see a bright future for this park if they keep it up.
I don't know if I'm going to say this right but I find it so weird how flat Iowa is. It's like you can see into the horizon which is so weird to me. It's pretty cool. I hope the park does really well, hopefully I can check it out next year.
@@heather.... Oh yeah I'm not knocking Iowa, it seems very pretty. I live in Vegas so anything that is green is very cool to me! It's just not everyday you see footage of a park with the ride in the foreground and the horizon in the background if that makes sense. It's odd is all and very cool.
@@oblivieon1567 haha no, I know. Even when people do, Iowan's are used to it. It's a great state (well, my opinion-not everyone thinks that) but it's definitely not the most exciting exciting state haha. We do have a lot of green. Spring and summer here can be very pretty. Actually there's a place in Cedar Rapids which is about an hour from Lost Island called Mount trashmore. It's a man-made hill build over a former landfill with 6 million tons of garbage underneath. It has multiple trails but the longest is a 3 mile trails (for both walking and biking) that overlooks the city. It makes me laugh but its pretty cool haha. 🤣
This actually looks like a nice start. I like it - I’d love to take a day trip down from Minneapolis in the near future. Love to head down when their coaster is open.

With the current lack of a season pass, I wonder how many locals are waiting until Matugani opens. I know I'm waiting until it opens to drive down from the Twin Cities as well. And I believe that there are now combo tickets with the waterpark as well.

I’m just hoping those grass hut roofs withstand harsh Iowa winters. I really hope this park makes it! I’m concerned for them though.
I saw Carpet Baggers tour and this place looks awesome. The trees and shrubs are just planted so landscaping is in work, but seems very well planned and themed. I think more music would fill the void of developing landscaping and curios how it looks at night???
I'll come here for sure but I might wait a little bit for them to add more because I could see myself spending only a few hours but I could probably also spend a full day at the waterpark.
They are offering park hopper passes at the gate to go to the theme park and the water park. One day and two day passes. People are coming to the theme park at opening and then heading over to the waterpark in the afternoon. Plus the casino is across the street.
I was there today and found it is larger than it looks initially. I went on most of the adult rides at least once. If you really explore it, it easily fills the day. I loved the theming and attention to detail. Attendance was still pretty low and quite a few families headed for the waterpark at the end of the day. I really hope more people give this place a look.
The one that spins on a track, is a Zamperla Disco like the tiki twirl at California's great America and the ones that go over a hill are considered a roller coaster type ride, and the smaller Disco is not a roller coaster but is on a track.

They do have "hopper" passes. A single day one and a two day one. You can't just bring in a bunch of large mature trees. Landscaping doesn't really work like that.
I work for the Themepark (ride operator). Benches are on their way. We do have plenty of places to sit down in all the realms (except Mura where the majority of benches will be added).
