Why i still adore Kahaani (2012)? Because of the way Kolkata was embedded in the screenplay so well. I was awestruck with every scene. Probably, the best thriller of 2010s, period. ❤️
And also loved the acting of actors. Some gems will remain gems

illegitimate is the right word! Great on paper, very faulty in execution!
The problem lies in the faulty execution of a very compelling story. Now imagine this film in the deft hands of someone like Sujoy Ghosh or Shoojir Sircar. They would have done wonders.

Watched it on Prime today. I fast forwarded thru the end scene monologue due to which i didn't even realise it was 13 mins. What a waste of time. It killed the mood of the movie.
Same here dude.. like a monolouge which was so lengthy... and in some point of time... the monolouge wasn't even on point 😅😅
I love Emraan Hashmi as an actor but he has only done either thrillers or romantic horror movies. An actor like him really deserves good roles. He is an example of talent despite coming from a film family.
Then see bard of blood
@@ajitprasadmahato2089 I loved Bard of Blood
Or just straight up horror movies like aashiq banaya aapne
Watch shanghai
That's not completely true...watch hamari adhuri kahni, watch him in light herated film like tumsa dekha nahin, dil to bacha hai ji or good boys vs bad boys..
Even Shanghai had Duaa and Khudayaa... iconic songs can't be separated from Emraan sir
That monologue from Mr. Bacchan would have worked well if Imran had been involved in that kinda crime. Also, I could not comprehend Rhea's character and its requirement in the premise.
If Rhea's screen appearance is summed up, it won't go above 5-6 mins.
Rhea's character was there only to justify Mr. Bachhan's monologue at the end as she is shown as victim of such crimes, still irrelevant though!
Publicity stunt...They couldn't promote it personally so they included her..thr news spread like wildfire then...
The Delhi milestone right at the beginning of the movie was simply laughable. I too felt that Emraan was driving somewhere in Eastern Europe till that milestone came out of nowhere.
So the overwhelming conclusion being Hashmi deserves so much better in terms of scripts and writing that actually utilise his prowess.
This has been the problem with several thriller projects over the years ..where the directors failed to give justice to the written material ...Raghavan with Andhadhun , Johnny Gaddar etc and Ghosh with Kahani are two of the few directors able to give a well balanced product ...
Badlapur was also good
( but i guess can't be put up in the genre of suspense thriller as it is more of revenge story with some elements of thrills

If you watch the last 30 minutes of the film closely you can tell that AB is reading his dialogues from cue cards or maybe a teleprompter, which means he might have had to do the whole monologue in one take for continuity and you gotta appreciate him there. He is 78 and still going at it !!There are a few cuts to the judge in the monologue but that’s just so that the audience doesn’t go to sleep, Anyway…. the affair was predictable because of the N.O. initials and so were the rest of the twists but still,
It’s good to know that we have people in the Industry who are willing to try new things rather than item songs, dialogue-baazi and six pack abs and salute to that ❤️

Watch and talk about Bengali films *"Hiralal" (2021)* and *"Tarikh" (2019)*

*"Hiralal"* is a well-made biopic of India's first ever filmmaker *Hiralal Sen* and that's why it's a must watch for every film enthusiasts and cinephiles.
And *"Tarikh"* has an amazing cast of Saswata Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty and Raima Sen and all of them were superb. It has lovely cinematography to elevate this film and interesting camera work (angles) used for storytelling purposes.
*"Tarikh"* won the National Award for *Best Screenplay (Dialogue)*

Basically, it's typical Emraan Hashmi fare of the mid 2000s. A good soundtrack, a competent Emraan, a good story but terrible execution resulting into a mediocre final product.

So basically Chehre is an average thriller with Emraan Sir, Amit Ji, Raghubir Sir, Annu Kapoor Sir being brilliant and the actresses being a waste of time. Can't wait for Lord Emraan Hashmi Sir to be in a completely action mode in Tiger 3 next year where he'll show off his full on rampage mode like he showed in Bard of Blood and Mumbai Saga. I'll watch Tiger 3 especially for Emraan more than Selmon Bhoi and Katrina.
he has denied being a part of tiger 3
Emraan Hashmi is not an actor, he is an emotion.
Emraan Hashmi ... The only reason I've allowed myself to watch this, since it was announced 😎
The film has three major sources of inspiration - Shantata Court Chaalu Aahe, Die Panne and Table No. 21.
Don't know about Die panne..but yes ..shantata court for sure
Emraan Hashmi really shined through...was great in bard of Blood and the Body too...he really deserves a truly good film
Emraan is a brilliant actor who sadly has been doing substandard thrillers (typical Vikram Bhatt stuff), although this one is by Rumi Jaffrey.
Hope Tiger3 changes the game for him (only if it’s actually good.)
yeah ofc it will as the masses would be like omg he is so good forgetting it's the same person they are seeing since 12-13 years...sadly emraan is just axeing his own branch by choosing these thriller films where he comes does something for a thriller climax has a song with a not so popular as well as not so good at acting kinda actress and then leaves
If he is doing tiger 3 , then he is repeating the mistake.
@@nomadicmritunjaya774 no the movie would be a high budget one. Keeping the story, logic, and sallu bhai's acting aside I think it's a gr8 comeback for him because in recent years he was noticed well only in hamari adhuri kahani and a lil bit in baadshaho...
An actor is the canvas on which the character is painted by a director. The more blank it is, the better. This is why stars don't make good character actors. They carry too much luggage and leave too little scope for creative expression. An average director is similarly a liability for a project.
Beautifully said. I find exceptions to that in the Hollywood system where say DiCaprio or Johnny Depp are massive stars but are convincing character actors as well - maybe not as much with Leo as Johnny since Depp is more of a chameleon. In Indian cinema I definitely agree. Stars don’t make good character actors at all.

Why The Director Didn't Throw Rhea out of this Movie 😞😞
apparently she is most desirable woman of the year according some ridiculous website :D even without all the controversy, I cant see past her buck teeth, let alone desirable
Well, well. The makers should have realised that's it's not the 70s and 80s anymore where Big B could save even the most atrocious projects.
is it me or are all the faces really smooth. I feel like they put too much makeup on or softened the pic too much. We know BigB had wrinkles. It add depth to the charector.

Jammy Bhai, it's bout time you become producer to a great script. Forge an alliance of the greatest members to make the movie. We need movies like Minari, Sound of Metal and other Oscar nominated movies in India.
But making any movie is not as easy as criticizing it
Remember when most of the stand up comedians made fun of kapil
But when they themselves got chance to make a reality show with a big budget
They failed miserably
Emraan Hashmi is Extraordinary Actor But he didn't get good script which is somehow very Sad
My view is Emraan died in the car hitting the tree and the cottage where he is judged is purgatory. When he falls that is Emraan meeting his final fate.
This is like Pink or Badla directed by Vikram Bhatt.
The monologue felt like a situation where your english teacher gives you 2000 words essay homework and you try to cover up the limit with unecessary words and stories 😄. The monologue was so shit in the context of the movie's premise. I was looking at my watch thinking when it would end. The movie had no relevance to the word Chehre in my opinion.
Imran hashmi in every frame looks stunning and the way he smiles🔥🔥 just took my heart
It's not a coincidence....it is a classic case of David v Goliath only here David was sushed down by the Goliaths of the industry. A girl who studied in FTII (I think) wanted to adapt this play and even secured the rights of the play to be adapted to a screenplay (she checked later on with the authorities in France I think and she found she was the only one who bought the rights) and wrote the screenplay and showed it to a director here in bengal but then she got sick and took a break only to find out her screenplay has been adapted by the same director only now he is refusing to acknowledge the fact. She had also approached producers in Bollywood but didn't get any answer from them and later on finds out it has been adapted as a hindi film as well.

Empire the review kab aayega ? I watched the whole series and liked it.
The movie flaunts a strong message which is must required to be instilled in this generation. It conveys a morale to be at an arm's length not just from crime but also from minor bad habits leading to irresistible mistakes which are backed by saying that if the whole world is involved then why not me? But the wrong act is non defendable no matter what. Only a broken reed, only a person lacking in morals slips easily into heinous acts and still doesn't realise anything or doesn't want to. They chose a good plot to showcase the whole court room drama in a smooth way. People need to have brains to welcome such work from Bollywood.
This is what I hate with analysis like this. Criticism of a movie ends up becoming "public has no brain". No. This is a God awful, boring cringefest of a movie underpinned by a 13 minute borefest monologue which ties no way into the story, on a shoddy plot that looks like its written by a 5th grader
