By this video lecture, I understand the overall process for those people who work under this. The power of the court holds the standard that there is still a moral way of processing the rights of people whether they are guilty or not, and by that, they can give a proper process and justice to those who can't defend themselves because of injustice.
What I learned after watching the video is that supreme court is crucial for explaining the law, resolving the cases and protecting the rights and the freedom of the citizens. The courts is the one who protect the freedom and rights of the citizen while ensuring the fairness judgement of society. It make me realize how is it important to know this kind of information therefore people have knowledge about how justice works and understand their rights as a citizen and acknowledge the importance of judicial system in maintaining fairness in society.

It's important because it interprets and applies laws fairly, helping to resolve conflict and make sure everyone's rights are upheld. Its independence helps keep the system fair for everyone.
The video was indeed informative, giving me a better understanding of the Judicial department in our country. Whenever I think of the Supreme Court, I always envision a key as this represents access to justice and the legal system whenever there are disputes or conflicts within and ensuring fairness under the law. The Philippine Supreme Court is acknowledged as the highest judicial authority in our country, responsible for interpreting and upholding the Philippine Constitution which is important in any country as this maintains order, and peace and offers protection, especially with the rights of the citizens. As mentioned in the video, I also realized how important it is for the judicial department to stay “apolitical” because by staying neutral and fair, the Supreme Court keeps the trust of the public in its ability to uphold justice and protect everyone's rights equally, no matter the political situation. With that being said, it gives the citizens an assurance that regardless of their background or beliefs, we can expect fair treatment under the law.

Following the video lecture on the Philippine Supreme Court, I gained a deeper understanding of the pivotal role played by the judicial department in ensuring justice within our system. It was emphasized that this department operates independently from political influence and is mandated to uphold fairness and impartiality in alignment with the Constitution. Additionally, I learned that the qualifications for members of the judiciary are notably stringent, surpassing those required for presidential candidacy. Those aspiring to join the judiciary must have served as a judge in a lower court or practiced law for at least 15 years in the Philippines, underscoring the high standards upheld by this esteemed institution. In contrast, the qualification for presidential candidates only mandate basic literacy, underscoring the differing prerequisites for these significant roles.

Its broad jurisdiction, administrative oversight, and commitment to fair legal practices highlight its essential function in upholding democracy and the rule of law in the Philippines. It plays a pivotal role in maintaining the country's legal and judicial integrity. Its powers and responsibilities are extensive, encompassing the ability to hear and decide critical cases involving high-ranking officials, review lower court judgments, and issue important writs such as mandamus, certiorari, and habeas corpus.
After watching the learning material, I have learned the crucial part that our Judicial Department plays. Our Judicial Department ensures that the law protects the citizens and the law will not be violated. This department also ensures that the people in power acts accordingly and puts the interests of the citizens before anything else.
Watching this lecture made me realize that the judiciary department is essential to ensure that the rule of law and justice are upheld. The Supreme Court and lower courts having judicial power is a key part of keeping the government in check and stopping power abuse. It's all about guaranteeing that everyone gets fair treatment under the law and that individual rights are protected. Its independence from the executive and legislative branches is crucial in providing a check on potential abuses of power, thereby fostering accountability and transparency in governance. The concept of grave abuse of discretion is also important as it is all about the judiciary preventing government officials from making arbitrary decisions. The Supreme Court has a significant amount of power, including interpreting the Constitution and overseeing the legal system. The high standards for judicial appointees show how important it is for judges to be honest, skilled, and fair, which helps ensure that the judiciary stays neutral and fair. All of these things combined make sure that the judiciary does its job well in upholding justice and constitutional governance.
The Judicial Department is one of the most crucial departments of our government. The Supreme Court, being the highest court, is very important to become unbiased and be protective of no one. I always believe that understanding something should make things easier for you once you need or are put into position. Understanding how justice is served in the Philippines must be taught to everyone. The role they have to provide security and peace to our country is very huge, and also an issue for ordinary people. Their integrity is damaged because of how difficult it is for poor people to get the justice they deserve. We have a very slow process and sometimes, it takes years or decades for a case to be resolved. I hope the country's judicial department won't stay like this forever and improve as justice isn't just for the rich, but for everyone.
I learned a lot from this video, which better explains our Judicial Department. One of the primary functions of the Supreme Court is to review the constitutionality of laws, executive orders, and administrative regulations. It has the power to declare them unconstitutional if they violate the Constitution

I learned in Article VII: The Judicial Department the different terms and how those terms flow to our Judicial Department. The 2 types of Due Process, Procedural Due Process - procedure, there must be a notice and a opportunity to be heard. Notice/Subtina/Summon notifying the person kung siya pa ay pinapatawag dahil siya ay kinakasuhan, there should be a opportunity to be heard in both side. The other one is the Substantive Due Process - judgement based on the evidence presented by the parties and applicable law. Judgement ng isang hukom ay nababatay sa ebidensiya, dalawa dapat para masabing Substantive Due Process. And Many More! This video gave me more complete and concise explanation and insight about everything what's going inside in our Judicial Department.
Prior to this lecture, I have little knowledge about the Judicial Department of the government. Their duties are unclear to me. However, after watching this video, I realized how vital this branch in maintaining the decency and justice that the nation intends to possess. It is interesting yet admittedly right to see that the Supreme Court is crafted to be the judge on cases involving authorities within the government and cases that concerns the public. They are meant to be neutral, apolitical, and unbiased, which is important to be able to provide the justice and accountability that every citizen deserves.

I reflected to the lecture I have watched and learned how supreme court works. I was enlightened from what I learned and will able to use this knowledge in an applicable moment somehow. Because, nowadays we have little vision of what's happening in the government and this a good thing to start on to be part of the new generation.
What I learned in this video is all about Judicial Power, Grave Abuse of Discretion, how judicial department works, and the power of supreme court. I learned how the due process make sense, the 2 types of due process.
Procedural Due Process is "there must be a notice and a opportunity to be heard" or sa madaling salita ay binibigyan ng oportunidad ang parehong panig upang magsalaysay at dito pumapasok ang procedural due process. Isa pa, pinapadalhan ng Subpoena o ng Summon ang taong kinasuhan para malaman na siya ay inaanyayahan sa korte upang maibahagi ang kanyang panig.u
2nd is the Subtantive Due Process - "judgement based on the evidence presented by the parties and applicable law." Hahatulan naman ang taong kinasuhan batay sa mga ebidensyang inilatag sa korte at pagpapasyahan kung ano ang naaangkop na batas.
