Hello! Good question. FPGMA has been re-elected (and was allowed to run in 2004 for the presidency) since Article 7 Section 4 states that: "... No person who has succeeded as President and has served as such for more than four years shall be qualified for election to the same office at any time." She succeeded Erap in 2001 and has served the unexpired term of the latter (which is less than 4 years since the term is set to expire in 2004). If Gloria had succeeded Erap around 1998-2000, she wouldn't have had the opportunity to run again in 2004. I was not able to put that on the video so thank you very much for this question!

Quality Leadership: By setting additional qualifications, the aim is to raise the bar for leadership in the Philippines, ensuring that those who hold the highest offices in the land are well-prepared, experienced, and committed to serving the nation's best interests.
I believe the following three requirements should be logically added to the Philippine Constitution for the presidency: 1. Minimum college education: To guarantee a foundational level of educational qualification for the top leadership role, candidates should be required to hold at least an undergraduate college degree. 2. Years of public service required: In order to have significant experience working for and understanding governance, candidates must have at least five to ten years of experience working in some capacity inside the government (public administration, elected office, military, etc.). 3. Maximum age restriction: At the time of the election, set the age limit at seventy-five or seventy-five. Although intelligence grows with age, an older limit may ensure leaders don't stay in power because health and endurance are equally crucial for the hard role.
Given the chance to amend the constitution, I would add three qualifications for presidency: 1. A College graduate- The presidency is perhaps the most powerful position in government, with authority concentrated in a manner similar to that of a legislative body. A president's decisions have far-reaching implications for the country, highlighting the enormous responsibility bestowed upon this position. This demonstrates their commitment to serving the public interest and provides practical knowledge of governance.

Which is crucial in understanding and addressing complex issues, and formulating policies and decision-making that will affect the nation. 2. Experienced in Public Service - Having prior experience in public service will ensure that the president understands government operations, policy-making, and addressing the concerns of the public allowing him to lead effectively. 3. Public Service Commitment: Would prioritize the public good and have a better understanding of the interests of the people they serve if they had a track record of public service, either through elected office or advocacy work.
If given the chance to amend the constitution and add 3 other qualifications for the presidency, the following are the 3 additional qualifications: - A minimum age requirement of 45 years guarantees maturity and life experience-two things that are essential for good decision-making and leadership. - At least ten years of experience working in the government or public sector ensures that the candidate is well-versed in how the government operates and has demonstrated a commitment to public service. - An absence of a criminal record guarantees that the applicant has a background of honesty and reliability, which is essential for a position with such heavy responsibility

Good in decision-making - It is crucial because the decisions made by these leaders directly impact the lives of people in the country, shaping policies, economies, and societies. It ensures that candidates have the ability to consider the welfare of the population and make choices that benefit the nation as a whole.
1. Knows how to represent everyone It's important for our leaders to understand and represent the diverse perspectives and experiences of our population. Maybe we could encourage candidates to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, whether it's through their policies, their team, or their outreach efforts. That way, we can ensure that everyone's voices are heard and respected. 2. Prior Experience in Government When voters see a candidate with this kind of experience, they can feel more confident that the person knows what they're doing and is ready to take on the responsibilities of being president or vice president. When someone has this kind of experience, it helps them understand how government works from the inside. They get to see how decisions are made, how different parts of government interact, and what kinds of challenges leaders face. It's like getting hands-on training in how to lead effectively. 3. Vision and Leadership Qualities Candidates could be evaluated based on their vision for the country and their leadership qualities. This could involve assessing their ability to inspire others, build consensus, and make tough decisions in the face of challenges. Leaders with a clear vision and strong leadership skills are better equipped to steer the country towards progress and prosperity.
I propose that the following three qualifications should be logically incorporated into the Philippine Constitution for presidential candidates: Educational Attainment: Requiring a higher education degree to ensure informed decision-making and understanding of complex issues. Public Service Experience: Mandating prior experience in government roles to ensure familiarity with public administration and governance. Ethical Standards: Implementing strict ethical standards and background checks to promote integrity and public trust in leadership.
1. Having an educational background such as a Master's would ensure that candidates possess a strong grasp of governance principles, the rule of law, and economic policies. 2. I believe it's important for candidates who have shown leadership experience, whether in the public or private sectors, to ensure that they have the abilities needed to lead a nation effectively, as can positions in national governance like those of mayor, governor, or member of Congress. This experience should demonstrate their ability to manage, make choices, and lead different departments as well. 3. Ensuring that candidates have not been found guilty of crimes could demonstrate a dedication to leadership and adherence to the rule of law. It is worth considering carefully whether or not candidates should be required to have criminal histories.
1. College Degree Holder - This academic credential should be added to the list since it will somewhat ensure that they have the intelligence to take on the position 2. No current investigation or has past criminal record - A clean criminal record will tell that a person respects and follows the law 3. Has significant experience in public service - Having experience in public service ensures that the president will have the capabilities to run the country
1. Must have the leadership that can influence people, he/she can make good decisions to overcome difficult challenges, and he/she can guide their organization to me more efficiently. 2. He/She must have at least a college degree 3. He/She must have a clean ethical record so that they can build trust between them and their people.
1. Minimum experience in public service. The candidates must have a significant professional experience in public service, government, or a related field. This would provide candidates with a deep understanding of the workings of government and the complex challenges facing the country. 2. This requirement could specify a minimum level of education, such as a college degree or equivalent qualification. 3. 1. College Degree - This requirement could ensure that candidates have a solid educational background to effectively lead the country 2. Public Service Experience - To have a proven track record of serving the public interest, understanding governance. 3. No Criminal Record - Because the President and Vice President serves as the highest official responsible for upholding and enforcing the laws of the country, a criminal record can erode public trust and confidence for their ability to govern with integrity, honesty and a commitment to the welfare of the people.
If given the chance, I would like to add these three additional qualifications: 1. Degree holder- A President must have at least a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution since this certification guarantees a basic level of education needed for effective leadership and decision-making. 2. Good moral standing- To maintain the standards of honesty and trustworthiness, the president must have a consistent record of good conduct and moral integrity, free of substantial allegations of corruption or unethical activities. 3. Physically and mentally fit- President candidates must have an age limit since older age might be related with health issues. Setting an age restriction ensures that presidents are physically and psychologically competent in carrying out their duties throughout their terms.
1.Leadership Experience: One additional qualification could be a requirement for candidates to have held a significant leadership position, such as governor, senator, or cabinet member, for a minimum number of years. This would ensure that candidates have demonstrated their ability to lead and manage large organizations or government bodies effectively. 2.Experience in Public Service: Another potential qualification could be a minimum number of years of experience in public service or government leadership roles. This could help ensure that candidates have a proven track record of serving the public interest and managing governmental responsibilities. 3.Physical and Mental Fitness: A requirement for candidates to undergo a medical and psychological examination to determine their physical and mental fitness for the demanding responsibilities of the presidency or vice presidency. This could help ensure that candidates are capable of fulfilling their duties effectively and without significant health issues that could impair their performance.

Skills & Experience - Must have some experience in leading a small community then understanding the people. 3.) College Degree Holder - The candidate must be a degree holder to ensure that they have enough knowledge to lead.
If I were given the chance to amend the constitution, I would propose the following qualifications: 1. Experience in working for the government: - Providing years of service for the government can truly guarantee one’s understanding of the administration, governance, and can truly show the dedication of one to serve the public. 2. Qualifications for Education: - Requiring a minimum educational background can guarantee that the candidates have a solid foundation in fields like law, economics, or public administration. 3. Financial and Ethical Transparency: - Upholding strict transparency requirements can prove ones integrity and competency to prevent corruption and maintain the trust of the public, which of course promotes accountability and shows priority to the welfare of the Filipino citizens.
There are three things I would like to add in the Constitution before a Filipino could be qualified to run for the Presidency: 1. Must be a college graduate It is honestly and bitterly surprising to learn that an educational requirement is not included for a President's qualification. Hence, I would add that a running-President must be a degree holder and should submit proof of being a college graduate. 2. Must submit SALN To prevent and ensure that a running-President does not have an unexplained wealth, he/she must have submitted his/her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth prior to election. A candidate would only be declared qualified to run if he/she submit his/her SALN. Otherwise, he/she would not be eligible for Presidency. 3. Must have an experience in other government branches Competence and knowledge are one of the key qualities a President must have, wherein both are best observed through experience. A running-President must have at least worked under the two other branches of the government-legislative and judiciary, that will allow them to be an expert in meddling and deciding upon bills best for the masses before its enactment. - Reamillo, Ruth (BABr 2-4D)
3 additional qualifications for Presidency and Vice Presidency: 1. Has an educational background and at least a degree about law, administration, and/or public service. 2. Has no criminal record. 3. Possess significant leadership experience.
If I were to amend the constitution and add three new qualifications for the presidency in the Philippines. Here are the three qualifications I would suggest: 1. Proven Leadership Experience: The candidate should have at least ten years of experience in a leadership role, either in government, business, or a significant community organization. This would help ensure they have the skills to lead a country effectively. 2. Clean Public Record: The candidate must have a clean record with no history of corruption or serious criminal activity. This is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the position and ensuring public trust. 3. Educational Background: The candidate should have at least a college degree. This ensures that the president has a solid foundation of knowledge and critical thinking skills, which are important for making informed decisions and understanding complex issues.
If I were to propose additional qualifications for the presidency in the Philippines, I would suggest the following: 1. Experience: Presidential candidates should have past experience serving the country (Government). Experience should be Mayor-level or higher positions only. 2. Educational Background: The presidential candidate should be a college graduate. 3. Advocates and platforms: The presidential candidate should have their advocates and their platforms on how they will lead the country
My 3 Qualifications for Presidency and Vice Presidency are, 1. Minimum Public Service Experience, To show an awareness of the complexities of governance, candidates must have an important history of serving the public at various levels of government. 2. Ethics and Conflict of Interest Screening, By requiring financial interests and potential conflicts to be shared, this mandatory screening improves openness and honesty in government. 3. Civic Education and Constitutional Literacy, In order to maintain democratic values and exercise effective leadership, candidates must exhibit a thorough understanding of the Constitution and how government functions.
Educational must have: By requiring a particular degree of education or experience in pertinent subjects like political science, law, or public administration, candidates for president might be guaranteed to meet this need. Experience in Public Service: Requiring candidates to have at least a certain amount of experience in public service could guarantee that they have a track record of upholding the public interest and have hands-on governance expertise. Ethical Standards: Including a requirement pertaining to integrity and ethical standards could highlight how crucial it is for presidential candidates to exhibit honesty, openness, and moral behavior.
1. He/ She has a prior government experience - In order to be an effective President or Vice President, it is important that candidates have experience in government and a good understanding of how the political system works. This would help them to navigate the complex issues facing the country and to work effectively with other branches of government. A requirement for prior government experience would also help to ensure that candidates have a track record of public service and a commitment to the common good. 2. Mentally Fit and Ready - The President and Vice President are responsible for making critical decisions that affect the lives of millions of people. It is essential that they are mentally fit to carry out their duties effectively. 3. Has a Higher level of education or experience - While there are no formal education or experience requirements for the Presidency or Vice Presidency, it could be argued that these positions require a certain level of expertise in areas such as law, economics, or foreign policy. Therefore, adding a higher education or experience requirement could ensure that candidates have the necessary knowledge and skills to lead the country effectively.
1. They should have a sound of understanding of international relations and diplomacy, this shows how they're able to effectively represent our country on a global stage and in working on complex geopolitical issues. 2. Must have a proven track record of their experiences in the government before or should at least have a minimum numbers of proven experience in public service to see how effective they are as a leader in their respective fields. 3. Should have a strong commitment to upholding human rights principles, including equality and dignity for every individuals. And having the ability to effectively resolve conflicts that's important in maintaining unity and stability within their country.
1. To possess the qualities of real president. To not be biased just because of its surname. 2. No background of any anomalies, corruption and abuse of power. And has a clean record and no criminal records. 3. Has an educational background, a high degree owner. Has a real degree.
1. Term Limit Extension -This would allow individuals to serve more than two terms, providing a continuity of leadership and ensuring that the nation is not constantly disrupted by changes in administration. 2. Foreign Language Proficiency: Another qualification could be the requirement for the President and Vice President to be proficient in at least one foreign language. This would enhance diplomatic capabilities, enabling effective communication with international partners and allies. 3. Executive Experience Requirement: this qualification could be the establishment of a minimum amount of executive experience as a prerequisite for running for the Presidency or Vice Presidency. This would ensure that candidates possess relevant leadership skills and knowledge before taking office.
If given a 3 opportunity to add another qualifications for presidency it will be: 1. LAW DEGREE GRADUATE- for him to be able to understand more about the constitution. 2. Environmental work experience- for balance not bias attitude. This will help him or her to have more information on the surrounding. 3.Maybe lets change sa age limit to 50 although its old on this generation but experience is the most best in every situation.
If I were given a chance to amend the constitution and add three qualifications for presidency, I would Consider: 1. College Graduate/ Degree Holder- This is to ensure that the individual who aims to be a President Candidate has a certain level of formal education. Also I believe this will serve as foundation for his/her leadership 2. Years of active service in Philippine Politics- This is to ensure that the candidate has a background and has practical experience in public administration and governance. 3.Non-Partisanship Requirement- The candidate should have a record pf non-partisanship or be endorsed by multiple political parties. This is to promote unity and reduce political polarization by encouraging candidates who can appeal across party lines.
1. Educational Attainment - Must have at least attained a bachelor's degree. I believe in the saying that education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world; so it is just right that the one to be responsible for the future of the country has this power. This would ensure that the president has at least a basic understanding of governance, economics, law, and other critical areas essential for leading a nation. 2. Mandatory Presidential Debates - Candidates must participate in a presidential debate. This would show the candidate’s capabilities. It is a great way to measure and predict how our country would be if that person were to lead our nation. 3. No Criminal Record - Candidates should demonstrate a history of ethical behavior and integrity. This could help uphold the moral standards of the presidency. A thorough background check is a must and that includes a review of their financial records, personal conduct, and adherence to ethical practices in their professional and personal lives.
If given the chance to amend the constitution and add three additional qualifications for the presidency, I would consider the following: 1. Leadership Experience - Candidates must have had significant leadership roles in government, business, non-profits, or other areas to show they can lead big organization. 2. Health Check - Implement a requirement for candidates to pass a comprehensive health and fitness examination to ensure they are physically and mentally capable of handling the stresses and demands of the presidency. 3. Financial Transparency - Candidates must reveal their financial status, including family assets, and provide tax returns for several years to promote honesty and prevent conflicts of interest.
If given the oppurtunity to amend the constitution, I would propose , Diplomatic skills - a president should be good at dealing with other countries ,keeping peace and making strong alliances. Crisis Management - a president needs to stay calm ,make quicl decisions, and lead effectively during emergencies. Visionary Leadership - a president should have a clear vision for the future and inspire people to work towards long -term goals.
1. the candidate must have accomplishing experience / solid record of dedicated service that can mimic what the president of the Philippines would do. 2. the candidate must have an inspiring behavior that can challenge the country's underlying root of economic and social malaise. 3. the candidate must have the potential as the president / vice president of the Philippines.
If given the opportunity to amend the Philippine constitution, I would propose criteria that emphasize integrity, competency in governance, and commitment to national unity. First and foremost, a candidate should have a proven record of integrity, demonstrating honesty and ethical behavior throughout their public and private life. This requirement would help ensure trustworthiness and accountability in leadership. Secondly, competency in governance is crucial. The President should possess a solid understanding of governance principles and hold significant prior experience in leadership roles, equipping them to effectively manage the complexities of running a nation. Finally, a commitment to national unity is essential. The President should be dedicated to fostering unity among diverse groups within the country, promoting inclusivity, and respecting cultural diversity. These qualifications collectively aim to ensure that future Presidents not only possess the necessary skills and ethical standards but also prioritize the unification and effective governance of the Philippines.
1. neither a criminal record nor any past criminal history involving him or his relatives. Upholding integrity, respect for the law, and trust are the hallmarks of a president who has never committed a crime or whose family has never engaged in criminal behavior. This ensures the public's trust and effective leadership. 2. must hold a degree or diploma and be able to demonstrate that they earned it through the proper channels. 3. He must listen to others in addition to his own ideas, and he must have a list of their forthcoming projects that solve people's problems.
1. Educational attainment - mandating a minimum level of education such as degree will ensure that candidates possess necessary knowledge and skills to effectively govern the country in an objective manner. 2. Require candidates to have significant and successful history in public service such as leading impactful public sector projects and contributing to national development initiatives. 3. In presidency, candidates should have a visionary leadership and strategic planning. In this qualification, it will ensure that they have the ability to execute long-term development plan for the country. Also this will serve as a vision on what the future holds if they win the presidency.
If I were given the chance to amend the constitution and add other 3 qualifications for the presidency, I would the add the following: 1. Degree holder or with highest educational attainment - Any course will do but if have taken a course related to the position you are applying for is an edge. This will serve as his/her foundation needed for strong decision-making on complex issues in our country. 2. With at least 5 years of experience of being a public servant - Experience is the greatest teacher. We can evaluate the candidate based on his/her past experience or performance if he is doing her duties effectively. 3. Patriotic - meaning with good intentions for the country and people. Should not have a criminal record, someone that is worthy of public trust. For me, our current qualification of presidency is very low. Popular people like actors and bloggers dominates the candidacy most of the time than those who are really concern and has a love for the country.
If given the chance to amend the constitution and add 3 other qualifications for the presidency, here are the additional qualifications for the presidency: 1. The candidate should at least complete a bachelor's degree, which could determine his/her level of competency and knowledge to understand and analyze complex situations. 2. The candidate should already exposed to public services and have successfully initiated projects that help the people and the communities. 3. The candidate should be globally aware and have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of global issues, international relations, and diplomacy.
- has a degree - has served the country - has never committed a crime or atleast found not guilty As individuals, it is within our rights to select the best candidate for the job. We require a person who is completely honest and has never broken the law. We don't require a person who will simply give us money or buy our votes.
3 additional qualifications for the Presidency and Vice Presidency - A degree holder - Served the country - Has a clean record My justifications for these are that both of them should be a degree holder so that it solidifies that they know what they are doing and have the proper knowledge to lead a country. Served the country because they need to know the struggles of protecting one's country or provide service to the country and last but not the least he/she should have a clean record so that no dirty work would be applied in the government.
If given the opportunity to amend the constitution, the following qualifications should be added for presidential candidates: 1.Educational background. This rule is an obsolete ruling. They must be at least graduate from a university or college, with a good track record. 2.Has strong conviction in deciding matters of national interest. 3. Have at least 10 year experience on any of the 3 branches of our government. (i.e. Judiciary, Executive, Legislative). This is just that we can guage his capacity as a government official. And so we can have the opportunity to exploit any misdealing he/she have done during these 10-year run as a government official.
If I were given the chance to amend the constitution I would like to add: 1. Financial Transparency - the candidates are required to disclose their own financial record to ensure that the public money is not embezzled. 2. Educational Requirements - the President or Vice President should have at least a college degree to ensure that they have enough knowledge to lead the country. 3. Health transparency - they should be required to release their full medical records to ensure that they are still physically ang mentally capable to lead our country
Three additional qualifications for presidency and vice-presidency: 1. The individual must have completed a higher education (Associated with Politics, Public Administration, or Law). -Ensures that if the individual becomes the president, they will know how the political and economical systems of the Philippines functions, and therefore, be able to ideally fulfill the responsibility of the President. 2. The individual must possess a record of being associated with military and community work; must also possess outstanding financial knowledge. -The experience from the military works and community works can and will be used when performing the presidential responsibilities.
If I will given the chance to amend the constitution and add 3 other qualifications for the presidency, i would definitely add the following: 1. Must have a higher education attainment. As the highest leader, the president serves as a role model. Having a higher educational attainment sets a positive example, emphasizing the importance of education and lifelong learning to the citizens. 2. Has experience in Public Service. A candidate must have at least ten years of experience in public service or government roles. This could include positions such as senator, congressman, governor, or mayor, giving them practical experience in leadership and administration. 3. Has a clear criminal record. This means that a candidate has no record with convictions for serious crimes such as corruption, abuse of power, or any violent offenses. It just shows that there's an integrity and trustworthiness on the presidential candidate.
Why was gloria re elected if its not allowed?
Hello!
Good question. FPGMA has been re-elected (and was allowed to run in 2004 for the presidency) since Article 7 Section 4 states that:
"... No person who has succeeded as President and has served as such for more than four years shall be qualified for election to the same office at any time."
She succeeded Erap in 2001 and has served the unexpired term of the latter (which is less than 4 years since the term is set to expire in 2004). If Gloria had succeeded Erap around 1998-2000, she wouldn't have had the opportunity to run again in 2004.

If given the chance to amend the constitution and add 3 other qualifications for the presidency, the three qualifications are:
A clean track record- A candidate should have a strong background and clean records to reassure the people. Achievements and a good history show a person’s credibility, reliability, and reputation.
A degree holder- being a degree holder can greatly enhance a candidate's credibility and ability to lead effectively. The knowledge gained from basic to advanced education can be valuable in governance. As every Filipino has the right to education, having a degree in our generation where education is more accessible and available to many, can help a leader govern more effectively and efficiently.
A minimum year of experience in politics here in the Philippines, to serve the country- having some years of political experience is good for a leader in the Philippines because it helps them understand the real-life situations of Filipinos. It enables them to govern effectively for the benefit of the people and stay informed about critical social, economic, and other important issues faced by the country.
1. A candidate that has the ability of leadership that can influence people and guide the members of the organization.
2. A candidate that has no criminal records or any connection about criminal records in his/ her family history. We all know how important it is to show a clean and right history if you want to get the respect and trust of your country so as simple as following the law is a must in a qualification for running president and vice president. As simple as that you can gain more respect and trust to your country.
3. A candidate that has an experience in public service in serving his own country and a candidate that has a plan for the brighter future for his own people of the country that he/she will serving for the future.
1. College graduate

2. Ethical Governance: Requiring candidates to meet ethical standards can promote integrity and honesty in leadership, fostering a culture of ethical governance and accountability to the Filipino people.
3. Quality Leadership: By setting additional qualifications, the aim is to raise the bar for leadership in the Philippines, ensuring that those who hold the highest offices in the land are well-prepared, experienced, and committed to serving the nation's best interests.
I believe the following three requirements should be logically added to the Philippine Constitution for the presidency:
Given the chance to amend the constitution, I would add three qualifications for presidency:
1. A College graduate- The presidency is perhaps the most powerful position in government, with authority concentrated in a manner similar to that of a legislative body. A president's decisions have far-reaching implications for the country, highlighting the enormous responsibility bestowed upon this position. Comprehensive education is essential for making sound judgments that affect the country. A well-educated president can undoubtedly think more deeply about the country's problems and work harder to solve them than the alternative.
2. Significant knowledge of government procedures is essential, as is the ability to navigate complex political terrain and a thorough comprehension of economic principles in order to design policies that promote prosperity and stability.
3. Has a strong track record and has served as a public servant for at least 10 years, with no record of corruption or criminal activity.
Proposed additional qualification:

This ensures they can effectively communicate with a diverse range of constituents and stakeholders, both domestically and internationally, enhancing their ability to engage with the public and represent the country.
3. Experience in Public Service: must have prior experience in public service, including serving in elected positions or holding significant roles in governmental or non-governmental organizations. This demonstrates their commitment to serving the public interest and provides practical knowledge of governance.
My 3 additional qualifications for the Presidency and Vice-Presidency are:
1. Must have at least a bachelor's degree in political science or any related courses because I considered it important for the President and Vice-President to have sufficient knowledge regarding the laws and constitution of the Philippines.
2. Have an experience in Public Service and able to accomplish remarkable things such as passing ordinance or laws that is for the betterment of the filipino people.
3. Transparent in his/her records financially especially if he/she works as a public servant before running as a President and Vice-President to avoid electing corrupt officials.
1. Proven Leadership Experience: Require candidates to have a significant track record of leadership in government, business, or public service, demonstrating their ability to effectively lead and manage large organizations.
2. Ethical Standards and Transparency: Mandate candidates to have a demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and transparency in their professional and personal lives, ensuring they uphold the highest standards of integrity.
3. Understanding of Global Affairs: Require candidates to possess a deep understanding of international relations and global affairs, including knowledge of geopolitical issues, diplomacy, and international trade, to effectively represent the country on the global stage.
If were given the chance to amend the constitution and add qualifications for the presidency, I would suggest the following:
1. College Graduate / Degree Holder - This ensures that the president has a foundation at a basic level of education.
3. Has no graft, corruption, or criminal records - A president serves as a role model for his citizens. This is why a candidate must have a clean record or any convictions for serious crimes such as corruption, this is to establish trust, integrity and also transparency as this will ensure ethical governance.
1.) Executive Leadership: Having executive experience in the public or private sectors would show a candidate's capacity to oversee sizable teams and make difficult choices.
2.) Global Fluency: Defending national interests in a complicated global environment requires experience and understanding of foreign policy and international relations.
3.) Public Service Commitment: Would prioritize the public good and have a better understanding of the interests of the people they serve if they had a track record of public service, either through elected office or advocacy work.
If given the chance to amend the constitution and add 3 other qualifications for the presidency, the following are the 3 additional qualifications:
- A minimum age requirement of 45 years guarantees maturity and life experience-two things that are essential for good decision-making and leadership.
- At least ten years of experience working in the government or public sector ensures that the candidate is well-versed in how the government operates and has demonstrated a commitment to public service.
- An absence of a criminal record guarantees that the applicant has a background of honesty and reliability, which is essential for a position with such heavy responsibility
1. Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field: Ensuring a basic level of educational qualification ensures candidates have the necessary knowledge and understanding of the complexities of governance.
2. Financial Transparency: Requiring candidates to disclose their financial records promotes accountability and reduces the risk of corruption, fostering trust between leaders and citizens.
3. Prior Government Experience: Having prior experience in government positions provides candidates with practical understanding and skills necessary to effectively lead and serve the nation.
1. Leadership Experience
: To effectively lead the country, candidates should have a strong track record of leading others in business, politics, or other related sectors.
2. Crisis Management Skills
: Candidates should have good crisis management abilities to efficiently maneuver through difficult situations, given the unpredictable nature of governance.
3. Ethical Integrity
: To ensure dependability and responsibility in decision-making, integrity and ethical behavior are essential for occupying the nation's top posts.
1. Leadership experience - It ensures that candidates have demonstrated their ability to effectively lead and manage complex organizations, make difficult decisions, and navigate challenges. This experience provides the practical skills and strategic vision necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the highest office in the country and effectively address the nation's most pressing issues.
2. No criminal records - Having no criminal records is essential for candidates running for the presidency and vice presidency because it helps uphold the integrity and credibility of the nation's highest offices. To ensures that those entrusted with leading the country have demonstrated respect for the law and possess the moral character necessary to fulfill their duties responsibly.
3. Good in decision-making - It is crucial because the decisions made by these leaders directly impact the lives of people in the country, shaping policies, economies, and societies. It ensures that candidates have the ability to consider the welfare of the population and make choices that benefit the nation as a whole.
1. Knows how to represent everyone
It's important for our leaders to understand and represent the diverse perspectives and experiences of our population. Maybe we could encourage candidates to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, whether it's through their policies, their team, or their outreach efforts. That way, we can ensure that everyone's voices are heard and respected.
2. Prior Experience in Government
When voters see a candidate with this kind of experience, they can feel more confident that the person knows what they're doing and is ready to take on the responsibilities of being president or vice president. When someone has this kind of experience, it helps them understand how government works from the inside. They get to see how decisions are made, how different parts of government interact, and what kinds of challenges leaders face. It's like getting hands-on training in how to lead effectively.
3. Vision and Leadership Qualities
Candidates could be evaluated based on their vision for the country and their leadership qualities. This could involve assessing their ability to inspire others, build consensus, and make tough decisions in the face of challenges. Leaders with a clear vision and strong leadership skills are better equipped to steer the country towards progress and prosperity.
I propose that the following three qualifications should be logically incorporated into the Philippine Constitution for presidential candidates:
Educational Attainment: Requiring a higher education degree to ensure informed decision-making and understanding of complex issues.
1. College Degree Holder
- This academic credential should be added to the list since it will somewhat ensure that they have the intelligence to take on the position
2. No current investigation or has past criminal record
- A clean criminal record will tell that a person respects and follows the law
3. Has significant experience in public service
- Having experience in public service ensures that the president will have the capabilities to run the country
1. Must have the leadership that can influence people, he/she can make good decisions to overcome difficult challenges, and he/she can guide their organization to me more efficiently.
2. He/She must have at least a college degree
3. He/She must have a clean ethical record so that they can build trust between them and their people.
1. Minimum experience in public service. The candidates must have a significant professional experience in public service, government, or a related field. This would provide candidates with a deep understanding of the workings of government and the complex challenges facing the country.
2. Implementing a minimum educational qualification for candidates, candidates must possess a certain level of knowledge and competence necessary for these high offices. This requirement could specify a minimum level of education, such as a college degree or equivalent qualification.
3. The candidates must possess a solid understanding of national security issues, foreign policy, and international relations.
1. College Degree - This requirement could ensure that candidates have a solid educational background to effectively lead the country
If given the chance, I would like to add these three additional qualifications:
1.) No criminal records - The candidate must not committed any crimes in the past this shows that he/she is following and respecting the laws.
2.) Skills & Experience - Must have some experience in leading a small community then understanding the people.
3.) College Degree Holder - The candidate must be a degree holder to ensure that they have enough knowledge to lead.
If I were given the chance to amend the constitution, I would propose the following qualifications:
1. Experience in working for the government:
- Providing years of service for the government can truly guarantee one’s understanding of the administration, governance, and can truly show the dedication of one to serve the public.
2. Qualifications for Education:
- Requiring a minimum educational background can guarantee that the candidates have a solid foundation in fields like law, economics, or public administration.
3. Financial and Ethical Transparency:
- Upholding strict transparency requirements can prove ones integrity and competency to prevent corruption and maintain the trust of the public, which of course promotes accountability and shows priority to the welfare of the Filipino citizens.
There are three things I would like to add in the Constitution before a Filipino could be qualified to run for the Presidency:
1. Must be a college graduate
It is honestly and bitterly surprising to learn that an educational requirement is not included for a President's qualification. Hence, I would add that a running-President must be a degree holder and should submit proof of being a college graduate.
2. Must submit SALN
To prevent and ensure that a running-President does not have an unexplained wealth, he/she must have submitted his/her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth prior to election. A candidate would only be declared qualified to run if he/she submit his/her SALN. Otherwise, he/she would not be eligible for Presidency.
3. Must have an experience in other government branches
Competence and knowledge are one of the key qualities a President must have, wherein both are best observed through experience. A running-President must have at least worked under the two other branches of the government-legislative and judiciary, that will allow them to be an expert in meddling and deciding upon bills best for the masses before its enactment.
- Reamillo, Ruth (BABr 2-4D)
3 additional qualifications for Presidency and Vice Presidency:
1. Has an educational background and at least a degree about law, administration, and/or public service.
2. Has no criminal record.
3. Possess significant leadership experience.
If I were to amend the constitution and add three new qualifications for the presidency in the Philippines. Here are the three qualifications I would suggest:

If I were to propose additional qualifications for the presidency in the Philippines, I would suggest the following:
My 3 Qualifications for Presidency and Vice Presidency are,

2. No background of any anomalies, corruption and abuse of power. And has a clean record and no criminal records.

1. Term Limit Extension
-This would allow individuals to serve more than two terms, providing a continuity of leadership and ensuring that the nation is not constantly disrupted by changes in administration.
If given a 3 opportunity to add another qualifications for presidency it will be:
If I were given a chance to amend the constitution and add three qualifications for presidency, I would Consider:
1. College Graduate/ Degree Holder- This is to ensure that the individual who aims to be a President Candidate has a certain level of formal education. Also I believe this will serve as foundation for his/her leadership
1. Educational Attainment
- Must have at least attained a bachelor's degree. I believe in the saying that education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world; so it is just right that the one to be responsible for the future of the country has this power. This would ensure that the president has at least a basic understanding of governance, economics, law, and other critical areas essential for leading a nation.
2. Mandatory Presidential Debates
- Candidates must participate in a presidential debate. This would show the candidate’s capabilities. It is a great way to measure and predict how our country would be if that person were to lead our nation.
3. No Criminal Record
- Candidates should demonstrate a history of ethical behavior and integrity. This could help uphold the moral standards of the presidency. A thorough background check is a must and that includes a review of their financial records, personal conduct, and adherence to ethical practices in their professional and personal lives.
If given the chance to amend the constitution and add three additional qualifications for the presidency, I would consider the following:
If given the oppurtunity to amend the constitution, I would propose ,
Diplomatic skills - a president should be good at dealing with other countries ,keeping peace and making strong alliances.
If I were given the chance to amend the constitution and add other 3 qualifications for the presidency, I would the add the following:
1. No criminal record
2. Have an experience on leadership and serving the community
3. College degree holder
If given the chance to amend the constitution and add 3 other qualifications for the presidency, here are the additional qualifications for the presidency:
- has a degree
- has served the country
- has never committed a crime or atleast found not guilty
As individuals, it is within our rights to select the best candidate for the job. We require a person who is completely honest and has never broken the law. We don't require a person who will simply give us money or buy our votes.
3 additional qualifications for the Presidency and Vice Presidency
- A degree holder
- Served the country
- Has a clean record
My justifications for these are that both of them should be a degree holder so that it solidifies that they know what they are doing and have the proper knowledge to lead a country. Served the country because they need to know the struggles of protecting one's country or provide service to the country and last but not the least he/she should have a clean record so that no dirty work would be applied in the government.
If given the opportunity to amend the constitution, the following qualifications should be added for presidential candidates:
1.Educational background.
1. Minimum 10 Years in Public Service
2. Pass a Civics and Ethics Test
3. Must have a degree in political science or governance
1. College degree holder
2. No criminal record
3. Has served the public for atleast 10 years
If I were given the chance to amend the constitution I would like to add:
Three additional qualifications for presidency and vice-presidency:
1. The individual must have completed a higher education (Associated with Politics, Public Administration, or Law).
-Ensures that if the individual becomes the president, they will know how the political and economical systems of the Philippines functions, and therefore, be able to ideally fulfill the responsibility of the President.
2. The individual must possess exceptional communication skills (Has experience of performing political speeches, etc.)
-Ensures that the orders, plans, speeches, and other presidential responsibilities are communicated meticulously, diligently, and ideally to the audience, government workers, and other people associated with the presidential responsibilities.
3. The individual must possess a record of being associated with military and community work; must also possess outstanding financial knowledge.
-The experience from the military works and community works can and will be used when performing the presidential responsibilities.
If I will given the chance to amend the constitution and add 3 other qualifications for the presidency, i would definitely add the following:
1. Advanced Education Requirement

3. Residency Requirement
