    Do you use snapshots? How do you like to use them?

      Snapshots can literally change almost Every Parameter on the Amps & Pedals. It is sooo helpful / useful. Really amazing feature

    I have several presets for different types of music; within each I use snapshots to provide different sounds, typically clean, rhythm 1, rhythm 2, lead 1; some have lead 2, but I rarely go above four snapshots, and at most 6.
    not too different from what you described here; great to see others doing similar things, tells me I may not be as crazy as I think. 😁

    Love this video. Learned a lot, like holding down the settings button so it only changes it on that snapshot.

      I'm feeling A LOT better now thanks! I haven't tried the Stomp XL yet. I wonder if I would have chosen it over the standard Stomp when I bought mine. Great, compact piece of gear though. I plan to do some videos on the (standard) HX Stomp by the way. Hope you find them useful.

    BTW it uses less DSP if you put each amp on a different signal path, rather than 2 on the same one.

    • @ProFunctionist
      @ProFunctionist  2 года назад +1

      That is true! Also depends how you want to do your set up. I think I generally like to put amps on the top row and post-amp/preamp FX on the bottom row, but I've had to do both ways at different times. Thanks for the tip. Very useful for Helix users to know!

    Add a 3-5 db volume block and a delay block to stomp together, and you might break leads on both clean, dirty etc.

    Great video. How do you get it so you could have snapshots for clean, crunch and dirty channels, and then also pedals that stay on regardless of what the snapshot is? Identical to if you were to change channels on a normal amp and then have your pedals manually operated

    • @ProFunctionist
      @ProFunctionist  2 года назад

      Hey. Thanks for the comment! As far as I know, I don't think you can have the pedals work independently of the snapshots. I seem to remember that's how it used to be but an eventual firmware update made the pedals snapshot specific. May a 'Helix historian' can correct me if I'm wrong.
      And as far as I know, you cannot configure the pedals to work independently of the snapshots either. (If anyone reading this knows differently I am happy to be corrected as I can definitely see the benefits of having the pedals set up this way).
      I hope this helps in some small way. Thanks again!

      RTFM 😉: Manual 3.0 page 45: Snapshot Block Bypass On/Off
      There may be situations where you don’t want snapshots to control a particular block’s bypass state; that is, you’d prefer to turn it on and off manually. For example, you may want manual control of a Boost block at any time without worrying whether a particular snapshot might turn it on or off.
      1. Within the Home screen, select a processing block within the signal flow and press ACTION.
      2. Turn Knob 5 (Snapshot Bypass) to set the behavior for the block.
      By default, all blocks are set to “On” to automatically control their bypass states via snapshots. Change to “Off” to disable snapshot control of the selected block’s bypass state.

    I use snapshots exclusively for amp setting changes or amp switching.

    Thank you very much! Can you match the levels too within the different snapshots? It seems to me (but maybe my ears are deceiving me) snapshot 3 (push) and Dirty sounds much louder than snapshot clean. Just wondering...

    • @ProFunctionist
      @ProFunctionist  3 года назад +1

      Yes, you can match the levels with each snapshot. In fact, I have just got back from a gig where I was doing that a lot during the gig. It was a different band and I was using different guitars (and an EQ pedal before the Helix to match the input levels) so had to do a lot of tweaking to sit right with the set up this band had plus their choice of songs. It's become an extremely useful feature in the last few gigs I've had.
