I’m the future when I’m older I’m gonna come back to this and write a entire paragraph about how nostalgic this song is and how I want my childhood back
Haha. I promise when you are in your later 20s and early 30s and beyond you'll start understanding why people do this. I know it's corny as hell and cliche, but you'll see.
Dude same! Mario 64 was the most magical shiiitt ever!!! We went from 2D games to 3D platform and this game and it’s music was totally outstanding! I can listen and replay forever!
I never understood why the producers called it dire dire docks, if the song first play on Jolly Roger Bay and that’s exactly where my mind goes first when I hear this!! The first water level!
This song brings me to an abandoned dock in tropical weather with life in the waters bursting and sunken renaissances below the sea waiting to be found. A mystical cove full of wonder, beauty and treachery lurking to be found from shore
I often wondered if these songs were just written too early... so nice that people are still out there to give these songs the quality they should have always had. 😊 Great work.
The old days are gone. Long live the present. Never may the future come. This song is like a divers chord connecting us to long lost days. Time doesnt flow straight friends
Dire dire docks just reminds me of when times where good and fun and you could have a great time like whats happening with society and the world and there was less pollution And can you guys and girls pray for my mother to stop smoking thank you.
I like that you call it the Dire, Dire Docks theme (which is what Nintendo calls it too), yet you show the sunken ship of Jolly Roger Bay in the background. Not sure if that’s intentional or not, but still, both stages deserve the recognition for the beautiful design and this amazing song, so yay. 💙 They’re both my favorite stages from Super Mario 64. :)
Sounds so calming and the way the tune picks up mid song is just amazing 😌 Makes me feel like I’m actually floating on top of the ocean on a warm Summer day 😎☀️🌊
A truly fantastic take on arguably my favorite piece of video game music of all time! I don't suppose you know a place where one could safely download this piece? I'd love to have a way to listen to this in times without youtube access.
The sound used on this video isn't the original. The original is the KORG 01/w Dyno Piano preset. Super Mario 64 has KORG M1 and KORG 01/w sounds. Other games from the 90s also have the sounds from those two synths, Sonic CD comes to my mind.
@@saricubra2867 its been years since i worked on this project but i did a LOT of digging and found a sample that matched the spectrogram of the original, but i genuinely dont remember where i found it. it could have been the korg m1 but i think i remember checking and realizing it didnt fit perfectly. although, maybe you're right lol. the strings and drumkit are completely new though.
@@saricubra2867 Not really. They used mostly Roland SC-88, E-MU Proteus 1 and Roland JD-990 on it. (Which is also the the one where the E-Piano Sound came from)

This is what these songs sounded like to me when I was six years old 🥲
Dude the nostalgia I feel, I really want my childhood back

All it's missing is some pizzicato and Enya humming some nonsense in the background
