Thank you for the great video but I can't help but notice the metal chain being stored next to a battery with exposed battery post.
    1:36
Where I work we had a truck catch on fire because people were storing metal in the battery belly bin. Metal moved around made contact with both post , heated up red hot and started a fire.
I apologize for pointing this out I'm not critiquing I just see a safety concern that's all , love the videos 💕 thank you

Great video showing your Cat. She is sure an extremely well fitted boat. four couples could be very comfortable sailing this absolute beauty. This would mean Yana and William you'd have to find area to put your belongings. The solar power and the wind power you have aboard is "WOW"!!! It's a lot. Definitely you are ready for off grid sailing. It is a lot of boat just for two wonderful people. Looking forward to next video stay safe and enjoy yourselves.

Wow! What a beautiful catamaran! I can’t believe how much space is on that thing. When I get the chance to go to a boat show, I’m going to definitely do it because I didn’t believe they’d be near as many rooms just by looking at the two big hulls and then the space between.
Thanks, you two!! love you guys and I will definitely be looking for more. Be safe.

Lovely boat guys! Can I offer some words of advice. I was a little concerned to see the exposed battery terminals in your anchor locker. I would strongly recommend covering all battery terminals to protect against accidental short circuit. The lithium bank is relatively high up in the locker but it contains a huge amount of energy that you do not want to accidentally release. The lead acid battery in the bottom of the anchor locker could easily be shorted by anchor chain and cause a fire. Love your videos. Stay safe and keep up the good work.

Thank you for the input. We filmed the episode before some of the details were completed. Waiting on polycarbonate to fabricate a battery protective box and building a shelf for the windless battery up high away from the chain.

Hi guys, enjoying your content thanks.
I am a sailor and will be watching your learning curve with interest. Good on you both.
Can't wait to see you on a beautiful day with your para sailer spinnaker up. You will be do proud of yourselves.
One point though. I was alarmed to see your 12 volt battery with no plastic insulator cover over the terminals to prevent some metal object like all that anchor chain or a stray screwdriver causing a short and fire which could even then set off your lithium bank into uncontrollable thermal runaway.
Also hope you have a really really loud temperature alarm with a probe or 2 or 3 taped to the side of that lithium bank.
Please do that immediately for your safety.

Beautiful catamaran!! After seeing the tour I'm pretty sure we were on a mooring in Koh Lipe when you pulled in a few days ago. Love the videos and welcome to the catamaran world!

Hey lovely couple. I am sure you'll learn sailing along the way, and the boat starts to look a lot better. I am just concerned if you'd "anchor" near us as you did in this video, using a mooring ball like this? video part (1:13) Why? it's one line through the loop that can shave quickly and then you're free to drift. Instead use two lines through the loop, each back to the boat on a different side. If one lone snaps, the other will still hold. Maybe it was just a short stop...But nevertheless I thought I mention, you would not be the first to find out too late. You're in my favorite sailing area, nice like the rest of Asia but more constant wind. Looking forward to the next one. Happy sailing!

    • @DawnHunters
      @DawnHunters  11 месяцев назад

      Hello Walter.
Great advice re the mooring ball. We actually have two lines, one to port and one to starboard plus a center to the winch that can pull us closer to mooring if required. When grabbing a ball for a few hours we only use the center line.
      Good observation!! And welcome aboard.

Keep those cells watertight and belayed..😉🧙‍♂️ I hope they are padded as well as a boat in rough seas can be subject to 7-12 G forces.
It's a good boat to live aboard and you always have the option to go hybrid power with regen
In the future as you have the both skills and the other energy sources to follow that hybrid path, if it becomes viable.
The big advantage of running the ice motor as an diesel electric generator is the Stoichiometric efficiency .. cleaner emissions and reduced wear and servicing of drive system plus you can place it anywhere just need buz bar and or cable link to high small light high torque transmission free ultra low maintainance silent pollution free motors that can regen while under sail 🤔.

You're adding so much, you'll have to haul out again just to raise your boot top.
If you add more, you'll soon need a bigger boat.. not size, but weight.
