I'm a DIYer and I've been following you, the Kilted Guy, and Vancouver Carpenter; and you three have really helped me as I currently do a level 5 finish on my walls
Hi, I'm a contractor. I do almost everything on our remodel projects including drywall. I'm forwarding your videos to my workers so they'll see how to finish joints perfectly!
I have a 750 sq foot shop addition that I have 1 wall left to install the drywall on then on to tape and mud. Appreciate your videos as I have learned many good techniques from you. Thanks for sharing
I'm a carpenter by trade but for the last ten years I've been the head maintenance guy for a group of landlords. Everything you've shown is the same way as I would do it. Good to see some accurate information on RUclips. I've got a few videos myself not very good at making videos but I'm learning. Good job
Hey Paul. So I remember learning about the concave side but I totally forget. Can you do a video explaining that, just with the knives themselves not while doing a job?
Right on Chris!💥👊🏻 How ya doing buddy? Here’s a video about the concave side of a drywall knife: ruclips.net/video/MKdlKgSjwJk/видео.html Thanks for watching and commenting bro.😎 -Paul
@@PaulPeck awesome man thanks bro! I have learned a ton from you. I'm good, just finished first coat of final paint on the studio and the HVAC unit should be here this week.
I’m a DIY type but not incredibly handy. Paul, can you do a video on cracked drywall from door corners that seem to recrack after repairs are done? Was it a bad technique that caused it or something else. We have used both kinds of tape. We did use, though, the joint compound already mixed in a jar from a big box store.
I've done drywall all life. Youre working it and I don't know if you were taking time to talk. You can coat the mud by grabbing the knife full of mud all the way across it and just wipe off tips on both ends of knife on pan and apply down middle in one shot, so you don't hav to keep making passes to fill it. you run that field joint in one big pass. One time coating it with mud. One time feather each side of mud just aplied, 2 passes down field joint. and then one wipe down center and done. Lots of mud to catch by not feather your mud on both sides of knife on pan before applying it. If any of that made sense. Good job good work. It would just be more efficient, same results.
Can you skim coat over painted walls, my bedrooms have a horrible texture and a noticeable line where two pieces of dry wall meet where you can tell a horrible texture job was done.
Yes you sure can Alicia!👍🏻 Check this video out: ruclips.net/video/mZIbAiXO3o4/видео.html Let me know what you think. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!😎 -Paul
Dry wall on the exterior of a house in a climate with 80% humidity most of the year. That's about as cheap as it gets. It least use material that will hold up.
Was just curious. I see your RUclips name says tapeless drywall finishing. Does that mean you don't use tape of any kind? I'm a painter so overlook me if that sounds dumb, just never saw that before.
@@c.b.-11 yes, no tape at all. We have been doing tapeless drywall finishing for more than 10 years and no issues so far. You can check my channel for more info. Thanks 🙏

Hey! I’m a handyman and was curious what your charging for a 12x12 patch?
depending on where the patch is and what has to be done
You explain it perfectly I just paint for the most....
I notice you never take the sticker off the knife

why skip trowel when you did the work to flatten what skip trowel is meant to hide? Such a silly thing to do.
