What made Rod Hull so great was he could turn to talk to a talk-show host, absolutely with his back to another guest, and then Emu would attack that other guest, really made it seem like Emu was a separate entity. People really seemed to belive Emu was alive because of this amazing ability. It's like Rod had eyes in the back of his head. Emu would pull people's hair, bite their knees. all like it was doing it alone, brilliant.
Ten years later i just made the same observation...he did this effortlessly..what a amazing performer. Wish his life had been better. Are u still alive commenter ? I bet u forgot u even wrote this ?? Lol.. hello there hahla
Jesus, that is harder than it looks to make a inanimate seem animate. He gives that puppet life so effortlessly. Keeping it independent of you must be so difficult. To give the impression you and it are seperate. What a genius.
Rod Hull and Emu. You were one of my childhood hero. I still miss Rod so much. You make me laugh as much now as you did years ago. Your a true genius. R.I.P
When Emu gets that telltale snarl in his beak you know it is time to back the hell off. That thing was a psychotic menace and Rod Hull deserved a medal for even partially taming it.
How he used that pupet you'd think it was real. That's when we had real proper entertainment. Now we've got more channels on the box we've still got to pay TV licence. Now it's Freeview you shouldn't have to pay. That's what it means FREE!
But what a sad ending to his life, he climbed up to the chimney of his house to adjust his TV aerial, and slipped and fell to his death .. what a needless waste of such a talent.
Best days of my life was watching comedians like this,

39 years ago and still funny!
Chaotic but old rod mastered the act!
Who would've thought that 18 years later,we would lose both Lena Zavaroni and Rudd Hull.R.I.P to the both of them.
British humor is wonderful🤗 👌...and this is the first time I've seen this particular duo.

I loved watching those two when I was younger and still do , brings a smile to your face and a warm feeling in your heart ❤️.
Lena was so pretty, poor wee soul died to soon, R I p.
Yes very sad, and Rod died as well.
@@Mulberry2000 yes indeed, also sad, he died by falling from a roof or something,?
@@tonyt5919 Yep he was fixing his tv Arial.
Lena is just ohhh sooo adorable and no matter what show Rod Hull and Emo were on it was going to be hilarious 😆...Thank you Rod Hull and Emo.
Only just come across this clip,
R.I.P. to both of you...
Lovely lena laughing she was not doing that often enough
Poor Lena no longer with us - shouldn't be allowed... Classic clip of great Stars!
Lena is gone and so is Hull. Both passed in 1999.
She was so beautiful. Another showbix casualty.
Such a sad event on how they both met there demise, rip.Totally unique was Rod Hull.

Rod Hull and emu were the non forgettable duo. frightening people all over the world. Dick Clark was furious with him.
Still funny. Always funny
Emu was real!!!!! l loved him.
I never knew of Rod Hull and only now am catching up! You'd swear that Emu was real. Rod was so good to make his arm act disjointed from him.
Aww bless em two talents gone .great
Brilliant
Remember this, So funny..
Love it
Absolute classic 😅😅😅😅😅
Absolute legend
He did that bit earlier in 74 with the Hudson Brothers.
Think of how many years it took him to train Emu to understand English.
RIP

Does anyone else forget that emu is a puppet?
I was worried lena would get injured by Rod but he must of pre thought the best way to rough her up gently.....
Yes he was carefully with woman and children. The men did not get off so lightly tho. Just ask Michael Parkinson!!!!
For a second I thought rod said to lana, "I've heard you've had trouble with your little vaggie" and she responded with "its as big as that" XD
why is this not on tv anymore?. to funny for tv i presume?
If you dont like it dont watch it
How can someone know if like it it unless they watch it? They can't. If they dont like it they have a right to say so.
Do Emus like Beavers ?
I bet there was a fight in the dressing room for any lettuce leaves as thats what both birds lived on 🫤
😂
The girl was okay but pretty stiff crowd
Thankfully Hull didn't use this as an opportunity to go 'the full pervert', seventies style.
70's were great - Today is an awful illiberal time in UK - Snitchers Paradise now!
When television was still fun with a capital F ! 😂😂👍
They both died in 1999. Sad and odd.
Brilliant
