My all time favourite movie. Words are meaningless. Such sweet silence interrupted by sweet music only. A masterpiece.

If only all film makers could understand what you can accomplish without resorting to needless dialogue

Very true and Kitano's A Scene By The Sea may be the ultimate modern example of this.

True, but it can also be butchered (this one obviously is not butchered)

Helps to have one of Joe Hisaishi's best scores

Hermosa escena y por lejos una de las composiciones mas infravaloradas de joe hisaishi

Kishimoto actress is unique. Like ever spouse of Kitano.

Thought this was an awesome film. Living proof they DO make films as good as they used to, albeit not in the English language!

This movie is great. Now that i already have this on VHS and DVD, i'm still looking for it on the Blu-Ray. Even this scene inspired me to practise for drawing the comic books and animating a stop motion animation.

@Maria Jose Vega Lora Yeah, i think it would be awesome, and incredible, too. That's why, in over two weeks, i'm going back to school to study for drawing the comic books 😺👍. Also, this scene of Hana-Bi is so beautiful, it makes me cry for ever love 😿. And thank you for your comment ❤️🌹😻.

Great scene, but doesn't the music remind the main theme of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (also Joe Hisaishi)?
