The BEST movie I ever enjoyed in my life. Especially the virtuous love between Shigeru and Takako made me to realize the deep sense of the loves! Nobody should miss this movie.
@@CamilaLee_ Basically he finally achieved his goal and shared his hard work with the one that was with him since the beginning. He drowned in the end and she recovered his surfboard to commemorate his memory and their love. The last scenes are flashbacks we never saw, and all the new friends they'd made along the way. Makes me think its a celebration of life, love and friendship.
Still remain my favourite movie ever, since the 2001 the first time that i saw it. Pure poetry the story of this 2 guys their relarionship and the coming of serfing into their lives and the Kitano take us in the story with nothing over the sound of the sea for almost the entire movie making understood this 2 guys their condition of deaf person with the plus of the magistral soundtrack of Joe Hisaishi
@@Camino_Fans-1525. I suppose the protagonist dies while surfing at the end? That's a tragic ending no matter how you look at it. I only am able to find a copy of the movie without English sub...Still haven't watched it but it is easy to see what happens just by looking at this video. Also the music being so bitter sweet doesn't help keep your tear from slipping out either.

@@Camino_Fans-1525. Your english is fine and you have nothing to worry about. I think the ambiguity in terms of emotion comes from the music itself- an extremely emotion-filled tune that somehow successfully conveys hope, yearning, and sadness. It is warm and fuzzy at the same time melancholic.
@@servetcakr5856 deaf man die surfing in storm. There's no tragic emotional scene or elaboration though, to not take away from the meditative nature of the movie. She accepted the fact he became one with the sea.
It was nice to see the neon/day-glo sportswear and gear in this film. I remember my parents having bits of such for tennis when we went to the park in the late 90s-early 000's.
A broken surf board taken out of the trash. It says “sink or swim”. Anything goes. Hisahishi doing its wonders. Two auditory impaired. Just looking at the dirty Tokyo ocean. Silent love has no bounds. Those Tokyo beaches filled with garbage, the couple leave the broken surfboard at the garbage. They save up to buy another surf board. No speaking is necessary to convey this feeling…
Never heard any put it this way, but it's true. Even making a game with his name on it. I just wish he would do pure directing, but I do enjoy Sonatine and Hana-bi.
不器用で純粋ですごい！恋愛だけでなく周りの人の不器用な優しさも印象に残る、サーフィン仲間の接し方リアルですごい。こういう感じなかなか出せない。
これほどの純愛映画を撮れる天才は北野監督以外にいないだろう。

watching a movie twice in one day has only happened to me once so far, and that movie was Scene at the Sea. Silent Love. Pure Love.

飾り気がなくてすごく素朴な映画。人との繋がりってこういう感じだよなあって思う。

80年代以降の日本映画史において様々に素晴らしい監督がいるが、相米監督と北野監督が圧倒的な天才であることは論を待たない。
Oh My God This movie is so special. simple, just perfect simple. Love is just like this. Simple is the best. And the music is perfect for the movie.
曇った空鈍色のそんなに綺麗でない海岸ぼろいサーフボード飛び抜けて美人でもない彼女、
でもとんでもなく貴重でかけがえの無い黄金のような時間、
わかる人にはわかるようにゴロンと説明もなく、、
変な話だけど、カンヌのレッドカーペットで新しい嫁さんと手を繋いで👬いた北野監督の立ち姿にこの映画を思い出した、泣ける
好き嫌いはっきり別れる作品。
自分はもちろん前者。この映画が好きと思えるタイプで良かった。
こういうひとのことを、「天才」と形容するのである。
Nobody in the history of movies has better walking than this movie. The scenes featuring nothing but Shigeru and Takako simply walking are amazing.
「詩的」という評価は映画の一作品に対してはもっとも遠い言葉かもしれない。
映画には金がかかり、人員が多くかかるので、詩的(プライベートな感性)とは隔たってしまうからだ。
そんな中、世界映画史の中でもっとも詩的な大傑作を北野たけし監督が撮った。それがこれだ。

この映画は不思議なもんでほぼ全編が監督がサービスで作ったエンディングを観るために始まる序章。その序章が半端ない
エンディングを観るためにみんな観てるといえば観ているかもしれないがそうじゃない。本当に監督が考えたオマケのエンディングを観るためなんだよ
そして、その序章がどんだけ素晴らしく美しいことか

마지막에 모든 것의 시작이었던 저 장면을 담으니 생각이 많아진다.
만약 내가 저 때의 시게루를 말릴 수 있다면 서핑을 말렸을 것인가…….시게루가 겪었던 그 성취감과 행복을 경험하지 못 할거라 생각하니 차마 그럴 수가 없다. 끝이 어떻게 나는지 뻔히 알면서도.
この真正面、真横からの静止画・ショットは、存在の等しさを現わしている気がする。そこにかけがえのない時間が宿っている。ウェス・アンダーソンとは違う使い方。北野武はそろそろ再評価されるべき。

A brilliant film, Kitano should spend more time behind the camera....as soon as he gets in front of a camera he goes in for macho BS.
