- Highlights of the #9 Hogs comeback win at Alabama in 2003. The Tide would break open a 10-10 halftime tie with 3 quick touchdowns to open the third quarter, but Arkansas would gradually chip away and rallied to win, 34-31, in double-overtime.

Loved watching #9 run the ball
I recorded this before I was able to actually watch any HD content! But I knew I would be able to one day. It was hiding in the back of a cabinet (with the 2004 Bama game). @WarMachine2013 did a great job of highlighting the drama. (So many missed field goals!)

I was too young to remember watching this game live, but I do remember game highlights of this game were included on the Ambush in Austin VHS I had. Loved reliving this, but holy crap CBS cut away so quick. They really do hate us lol
Well the game did start an hour after it was supposed to because of weather and then it went double-OT so it ran well into other programming.
@@WARMACHINE2013 i knew it ran long but didn't realize it started so late. I know that it was for programming purposes. Still, the media doesn't like us though, lol

Bama fan here. This is definitely in the top 10 (maybe top 5) most devastating losses I’ve experienced as a fan. The Tennessee 5 OT loss later that year was even worse.

What about the laughable loss to Arkansas in 2006 after Tiffin went 0-72 on fgs that game. Seems like our losses to Arkansas are always crazy. We did pull a stunner though in 2007 on the last second.

Verne Lundquist was extremely excited every time Alabama scored a touchdown.
That never changed. He was such a Bama homer.
I miss watching Matt Jones as a kid
I played with Matt in high school (before he moved to Fort Smith). If he had been motivated to go 110% even 50% of the time, he would have been unstoppable. But, Matt didn't "get up" for games unless he got mad. Even then it only lasted a series or two. Don't get me wrong, I loved watching him at the U of A. However, what might have been if his work ethic was better?
You could hear Verne Lundquist's sadness when Gallon intercepted that pass in double OT, lol.
Verne was an admitted tide homer.

Alabama is the luckest football program in college football history. The best 2 coaches in history at one school. Bryant and Saban. Without them they are just another program.
I totally forgot about this game. 2003 was a disappointment. Coach Houston Dale Nutt. Love to hate him or hate to love him, the guy brought life back to the program. He won many games he should have lost yet the problem is the games he should have easily won but lost, sometimes in terrible embarrassing fashion. Then there are games he won but you feel like it's a loss, like this one. Arkansas should have coasted to a victory in regulation. Some say a win is a win, but it's frustrating. Very, very frustrating. Always a Hog fan win or lose. Go Hog's.
