GSP is the GOAT. 13 title wins, across 3 generation of fighters, over 10 years, 2 divisions, no peds, avenged his only losses by finish, beat champions and number one contenders all his career, has one of the best resumes and mostly dominated all his fights. People say Khabib is the GOAT because he's 29-0 but the fact is that Khabib only has 13 ufc fights and 4 title wins. People also say Khabib has dominated every person. Yes he did so incredibly but GSP beat everyone at their own game. Outgrappled Penn, Serra, Diaz, outstruck Bisping and Condit, Outwrestled Shields and went toe-to-toe with Johnny Hendricks. He was good at every area of MMA. Love Khabib but GSP is definitely the GOAT.
@@ardithackovija6135 yall are cute for thinking that. GSP legit outwrestled and dominated NCAA wrestlers his whole career. Jon Fitch, Jake Shields, Josh Koshchek, Sean Sherk, Matt Hughes and went toe to toe with Prime/PED Johnny Hendricks. Usman barely took down Masvidal and didnt even attempt to wrestle with Colby, you think he can take down or outwrestle GSP? Lol
Why do people always talk about title fights? It doesnt even matter, the only reason GSP has more title fights is because he got his in 3 fights khabib had to win about 9 fights to finally get his shot. If khabib got his title shot after 3 fights he would have more title defenses.
For your next list: Demetrius Johnson First flyweight champion and made that division significant in a time when people didn't pay that much attention to anyone under 185.
Kazushi Sakuraba deserves at least an honorable mention for helping put Japanese MMA on the map with PRIDE at one point outgrossing the UFC and for also breaking the image of the unbeatable Gracie family and their unbeatable Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
Don’t get me wrong..Conor took the game to another level...but so did Khabib but even better. 4 years mma wasn’t as popular as it today in the Middle East. But after that Conor vs Khabib fight...it became one of the most exciting sports to watch here. So thanks to both Conor and Khabib for showing the Fun side and respectful side of the sport
Conor brought a lot of new fans to the sport. A lot of them might be casuals who worship McGregor but I am willing bet that a large portion of those fans are more hardcore fans. Credit where credit is due.
@BIG DADDY I come from a south Asian background (Pakistani) and what khabib has done for the sport in the Middle East and South Asia is incredible. He even got my dad to watch a fight 😂😂
Y’all always come out with bangers. Teaching me a bunch of new stuff about the sport and I love that I still have so much to learn. Thanks for the vids
Matt Hughes best be on this list he was the first power house wrestler to combine that talent with finer part's of submission grappling and Jiu Jitsu, with confident striking with high level American wrestling that alone changed the game.
Ehhhhhh, I don't know if that's a positive thing... I think he brought in a shit ton of meathead casuals - and they've already abandoned him, and the sport... Soooo... 🤷♂️
Unpopular opinion: Khabib Nurmagaedov is an inspiration and had a huge influence on the sport of MMA, However I don't think he should be number 1, Royce Gracie (obvious), Ronda Rousey (women in MMA), Chael Sonnen (Self Promotion). Are all more influential in my opinion.
Can't believe that Anderson Silva and Fedor Emelianenko, two of the greatest of all time in their weight classes, are not on this list! With all due credit and respect for Khabib, but The Notorious Conor McGregor should be the one at the top spot of this list.

@@redmarine2717 Never said he didn't and your reply makes no sense in the context of my comment. What I said is that he brought MMA into the mainstream, not that he was a role model.
@@redmarine2717 I honestly think you are just here to argue, therefore I see no point in continuing this conversation with you. You are entitled to your oppinion, just as I am entitled to mine.
First off khabib and number one makes zero sense. The title is people who changed the UFC. And your putting a guy who changed nothing? Ronda should be number 1 or conor in terms of changing UFC. You can't even find a single point to put. All you said was oh khabib retired undefeated.... Okay?
@Johnny Wong conor completely exploded the ufc in popularity. Becoming massively main stream. Exposing all of ireland to ufc. Created an entire persona, moved into the world of boxing. Khabib is one of the best fighters but he didn't change MMA. If anything ronda should be number 1.
How did she change MMA? She popularized female UFC competition, nothing more. khabib on the other hand brought MMA to the whole islamic world and showed something nobody ever was able to. to do every time the same, his game plan was known by every opponent and still they couldnt do anything against it.
Khabib is an ultra impressive athlete, celebrity and person. However placing him at number 1 above literally everyone else in MMA in terms of how he "changed the game" is ludicrous. Henry Cejudo for example retired on top, saved a division, was a double champ and is not even on this list. This is a pure example of an entertainment channel prioritising what is popular now in opposition to what is factual. GSP has done much more than Khabib to change the sport of MMA however unfortunately he didn't just defend a world title so he will have to stay at 6th for now. The fact that Anderson Silva was not even mentioned further protests how fickle you guys really are.
Either recency bias or they are just catering to the fact that Khabib has massive support right now. These guys rarely miss but they did pretty hard here imo. No Khabib hate and I wouldn’t even be mad at someone calling him the GOAT, but calling him the number one fighter who has changed MMA is pretty ridiculous and honestly kinda disrespectful to some of these other fighters. Also GSP at 6 when he has arguably changed the actual fight game more than anyone else is crazy
29 fight winstreak, most 10-8 rounds in ufc history, never got dropped, never got cut and finished 3 killers in a row. We witnessed greatness. Thank you Khabib and Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.
@Winston Mosquehill not really he didn’t really stop anything. People still trash talk and it actually went up. And he still trashed talked, such as calling other fighters raspiest
Urijah Faber changed the game by having talented lighter weight classes, from wec days that ufc bought out…Dominic Cruz , Renan Barao , Joseph benavidez , Demetrius Johnson, Miguel Torres, Ian McCall , brad Pickett, mike brown , Brian Bowles etc
Yeah y’all were doing so good until you placed Khabib instead of Anderson Silva . The fact that he isn’t on this list totally discredits The whole video. Not to mention y’all didn’t even explain how he revolutionized the sport. Just the fact that he dominated
The recency bias in this video is staggering, the content doesn’t even follow the criteria of the title. Khabib’s dominance is something special and stuff of legend, but it doesn’t put him over every single monumental pioneer in mma and the most influential stars like Conor and Ronda.
If Connor mcgregor isn’t in this wtf he skyrocketed UFC’s popularity if you ask anyone to name an MMA fighter they’d say Connor. I don’t even really like him but his impact is undeniable
You probably don't know but Khabib is the one who popularized UFC in Asia especially in Islamic countries. Conor got viewers from mostly in Europe and US as mostly his fans are from these countries. That's why Dana desperately wants Khabib to come fight cause UAE is becoming the new fight capital of the world and ain't anyone will sell more tickets than Khabib there.
“Let’s be real,He deserves a place on this list” ? Why are you saying it so ashamed? McGregor literally made UFC the most popular organisation in combat sports period, what are you guys talking about? I feel ashamed that he was so loved by you guys before the Khabib fight but then to not look bad you went on hating the guy.
How is retiring in your prime an achievement? Imagine if all the great fighters will retire in their prime... Is unfinished business if you ask me...blue balls
@@karenwerner615 trust me man , the future will not be kind with Khabib ! He will be rembered as the undefetead dominant wrestler who had a lot of potential but never went up in weight to challenge himself and retired in his prime...disappointing
There was a lot more you could have mentioned about Khabib/The Nurmagomedov's. They made people appreciate the art of grappling and MMA style wrestling a lot more. Their methods are now being studied by numerous elite athletes. And they led to the phenomenonal rise of MMA in the caucus region with many young talented fighters coming through to the UFC now.
I don't know how you can say Khabib's retirement is the most influential thing that has happened if it hasn't even been a week. We don't have any evidence of it changing anything. Further, it doesn't really make sense that this is going to change how fighters look at their own careers because this was a very unique, personal circumstance not done out of legacy but out of a promise. I think great champions for the most part will keep on fighting as long they can make money.

Jason: I'm not sure, give me something awesome!
Barber: Say no more.
My pick would be Fedor Emelianenko. Always calm and polite and the first fighter who was world class in every aspect of fighting. GSP, Rousey,Khabib,Aldo,,Werdum,Velasquez have credited Fedor for inspiring them to compete in mma
Silva changed the game by teaching us what it looked like to be invincible
true that !

Usman would eat Georges for breakfast
@@levacarvalho lmao joke of the year
@@bryanyau2001 it's true
You forgot Fedor, the first fighter considered goat, and first to be undefeated for 10 years who defined what a all rounded fighter should be.
For your next list: Demetrius Johnson
First flyweight champion and made that division significant in a time when people didn't pay that much attention to anyone under 185.
Conor took the money game on another level, not the fighting game.

Fighter pay is actually really good, just not a absurd as top level boxing, and that it isnt the ufc's or any promotions fault that the fighter that is getting low pay, or that they boring or uninteresting.
I agree but this list is not about that, Fedor and Anderson were more important than him in forming the MMA legacy.

Yeah y’all were doing so good until you placed Khabib instead of Anderson Silva . The fact that he isn’t on this list totally discredits The whole video. Not to mention y’all didn’t even explain how he revolutionized the sport. Just the fact that he dominated
Dominated by losing 11 times?
The recency bias in this video is staggering, the content doesn’t even follow the criteria of the title. Khabib’s dominance is something special and stuff of legend, but it doesn’t put him over every single monumental pioneer in mma and the most influential stars like Conor and Ronda.

McGregor changed the sport the most he turned the ufc to another level it's not up for debate
