He's a real fella, didn't read the instructions to the end. Why are we like this, at least you did read most of the instructions. That spare air gizmo is interesting, for me who doesn't have scuba a gizmo like that would be excellent to give me a little extra time spearing
Howdee peeps blessings peace and love. Thanks 🙏 you have reawakened me somewhat Gotta get my life back and get another boat Thirty years working/repairing commissioning and warranty repairs luxury yachts ? But I had a real bad accident, head and spinal injury/trauma, Recovering in Canada 🇨🇦 but ready to hit the road with the dogs and travel and find a boat? Thanks for the awakening
I have a max prop and I would never attempt to work on it underwater. I have plenty of difficulty when on the hard... you have got guts... Cheers, Richard
James- consider using a "pancake oil-less" compressor and 50' hose connected to scuba second stage viola' Hooka rig! I worked as commercial diver for several years cheap and works like charm Just make sure its oil-ess compressor.
Perfect cue for the Spare Air - great device. Just amazed how much sailing is about being in the water unfouling props and ropes and checking anchors etc as it is on deck. Great insights.
Hey James, the cone gear has a mark "x" that lines up with the letters shown on part "1" in "fig.3", and the spinner (part "7") mark gets lined up with the letter on part "6" (spinner gear) because the pitch stops are different for left rotation vs. right rotation, do it wrong and you'll have no idea what pitch you've got. Hopefully you got it right by accident, but you might want to correct the video even if it's working okay.
James, I liked your channel because you are so knowledgeable about the mechanics of boats. Please stop the silliness you have been doing. Especially on this video. The best videos were when you sailed as crew from Hawaii. Keep it real! Best of luck
James I appreciate the Video. I shared it to my Facebook page. Maybe one of my Customers will enjoy it. Peace and Love in 2021! Cliff Battleship Marine.
Ahh what soothing guitar music. Came home after a long day @ an Assistant Living Facility. Took a shower, relaxed, sipping on sleepy time tea and watching your channel with this music was just awesome dude. Is it possible that you can leave info about the music artist/title of the song?
James !!! When you put in the high water alarm... make sure you can hear it outside the boat too... like in the cockpit when it's very windy and you can't hear anything.
Your videos are always well done James! Rental car was hysterical. Also, I always lock out/tag out my engine breakers when messing with the prop. God forbid someone accidentally engages the engine on button while you’re down there. That’s always been a fear of mine . Great job buddy
From a former owner of a 2-blade MaxProp: It is not similar. The 2-blade can hardly be assembled by one person on the dry. My understanding for the right pitch is that it should be adjusted so that it almost reaches maximum speed of the engine. Maybe 300 rpm less. If your maximum rpm is much lower, the engine will run too fuel rich at all rpm's and you will experience excessive coking.
Picking the right prop 101: Loaded/Unloaded boat weight. Prop pitch, size , condition, are all factors of your diesel being able to reach max rpm (redline.) If you have a usual boat weight and conditions you sail in, being able to hit red line at WOT (wide open throttle) is optimal.
Nice! I'm actually heading for a Beneteau Oceanis 523 Clipper as my first bluewater boat. Or a Cyclades 44 or Jenneau 54DS. Time will tell. Just one of the reasons I'm teaching myself to code right now. Give me three years. So back to hustling now. See you on the water.
James, this is James in Florida, Hey Buddy !!!! What happened with the repairs from the water damage? Did I miss that episode ? The boat looks great now. I would like to hear about the damages and how long it took to repair and at what cost. Just curious. It's kinda like reading a book and you come to a missing chapter. What happened, Bro ? Inquiring minds want to know. Great job on the prop repair though.
The video he released 20 mars 2021 when they visit the island and the old light house is from december last year. So we have to wait to see the repairs!! Look at his Instagram to see when stuff happens. If not the exact date it's closer to the real date. instagram.com/p/CJB5N9urT-N/
Check out Spare-Air....you can fill it from a scuba tank or at a shop where there is a compressor system. NOTE: when free diving and you take a breath of compressed air, when you ascend, you do so while exhaling to avoid ruptured lung parts which are air sacs that can over expand due to the compressed air inhaled at depth.
Isn't blade pitch measured in terms of the distance a zero-slip propellor drives the vessel in a single revolution, rather than degrees which changes as you go out along the bases. I see props measured in terms of inches of pitch, not degrees. I presume the blades are basically helical of course.
ah, just realised the answer and why "degrees" - the blades are essentially flat rather than helical. Means less efficiency when driving but I suppose the efficient when feathered is mire important.
Hello beautiful people. Take a minute and 'LIKE' this video. Helps me with the algorithm. Subscribe too, if you dig!!! Sending love from Curaçao! -J
Did you actually pay 💲 to rent that car.
They should be paying him :/
I don't always click the like button, but when I do, it's for Sailing Zingaro
Is this episode after you flooded the bilge
Is this after you sunk your boat or before? Did you actually sink your boat? What's really going on with your channel? What happened to your crew?
That rental car has got PERSONALITY!!!

Awesome Video, Thanks for sharing the tips and tricks on the MAX Prop.
Those doggoes are really CUTE!!!
props to you for saying leave the flounder alone top man
Awesome rental car man... With all the extras too... Sweet
A wealth of usable information...............
Also get a griddle pumice stone. Works great for scrubbing the prop. It will make it pretty like brand new in a minute. Works really good!
Well done! Good work bro!
Great vid! You're a lucky man.

"Feast your eyes...." xDDD That car rental ad was sick dude!
Gee there's some freaking good camera work on the underwater scenes!
The video underwater showing the prop came out spectacular!

Damn, I’d have a hard enough time doing that on a dry dock without dropping a screw and your doing it underwater. Nice work James!
I'm loving the scuba bottle, great editing James!
Thats the first time I have seen the boat in the water from the air like that and it's a beautiful boat. Congratulations on a great find.
James, I liked your channel because you are so knowledgeable about the mechanics of boats. Please stop the silliness you have been doing. Especially on this video. The best videos were when you sailed as crew from Hawaii. Keep it real! Best of luck
Never understood how those props worked. Now I do! Thanks for another great video.

Hi James
Looking forward to seeing you all set sail again. New to ypur channel but glad I spotted you in my recommendation s. ❤✌
Who needs a yacht when you can drive an Alto like that! 😂
I think Zingaro and Miss LoneStar should hang out! Do a little live stream.

Nice edit and video
Amazing how you can hold your breath that long.. I'm a certified scuba diver and I'm not sure I could don't that long...great job. Just awesome 👌 👏 😎
Thanks 👍
Octopi are amaaaazing. Changing color AND texture to match what's underneath (where their eyes can't even see)
Man what a beautiful boat!! Hull color, lines, shape .. from 17:00 drone footage
LOVE the Car! I had one like that years ago!
Nobody ever has a snuba setup? It always blows my mind.
James !!! When you put in the high water alarm... make sure you can hear it outside the boat too... like in the cockpit when it's very windy and you can't hear anything.
i have a light on my helm area that tells me that a bilge pump is running.

Great editing James....beautiful closing sequence 👌

Love the rental car. Totally customized, bet it took a while to do that.
Can only be done using enhanced creative driving techniques.
That rental car reminds me of your boat when you bought her! 🤣
Hahahaha. Better shape
Actually more like the old Zingaro after the wrecking
Awesome editing!
Great video, James. Looks amazing. Good luck getting her back in the water soon, brother.
Beautiful video. Thank you.
In Jamaica, a slice of pie costs $3.50. In the Bahamas, a slice of pie costs $5.50.
These are the pie rates of the Caribbean.
and a 1/4 of the pie is pi/2
Much more expensive in Portland, OR.
Only real ballers drive Suzukis like that. You sir must make a lot of RUclips money. XD cheers buddy I loved that little clip!
Always informative - you da man.
These videos are getting good man!
Hahaha, that custom rental car! Love it!

Oh yer that’s a Bas special.
I'm going to call this..... "DIY" brought to a new high. 😎👍
New low, actually. LOL.

I can’t wait to be on the hook again.
WOW, what a car.
Aquaman type sh!t....nice. But was interested in how you’re boat came along since the haul out and now?
stay safe - my son helps with diving for treasure ships
I've had my 3 blade max prop apart to reset pitch and I would definitely recommend against doing this in the water
Congratulations on 100 K!
Thank you so much 😀
Nice glasses bro...i love the intro.
Damn sweet ride hommes
That's a quality rental right there man 😳
Is this after the boat almost sunk? Is it all repaired now?
I decided to post it to Twitter too. Have a great week everyone.
Cliff
Noway ....in the water dry job is a must
Love sailboats but there is always something to fix! Especially in salt water!
Lmao your description of the rental was awesome
Or........ You could fit a Brunton Auto-Prop. Self pitching, better power under engine, better feathering under under sail............
Better feathering - really? I've got a Brunton but the blades don't feather as cleanly as the Maxprop.
@@Toob41 The Max prop is not infinitely variable in forward and reverse. Once it reaches its maximum pitch thats it......
Hey Aquaman cool video. What was that camo critter

The rental car reminds of your cat.

I would have put some loctite on the screws
I may have missed the operational check. Did changing the pitch successfully drop your engine RPM and increase your speed?
Hey why did the boat suddenly change colors.....😜🤣🤣🤣🤣
While doing that, why not scrub all the growth off with a stiff brush....
Logic? Lol
You have an amazing life man - how old are you?
Why’s the boat changed from blue to white?
🤣🤣🤣I had to comment, I used to drive a Suzuki Alto as a work car, they're a beast of a machine 🤣🤣🤣, i'll continue watching now 👍🏼
