We're the Russos I love this! However when oh when will they realize the dark wood is SO OUTDATED!! No one I mean no one who’s ever been in a light & bright RV, would never put that dark & claustrophobic dark wood in there! This is a few years old so maybe things have changed. I would also decline the electric love seat, get an electric fireplace & space for my dogs beds.

After watching this video, I laid down for the night and decided that I'd go ahead and spend the money to buy one. So, I went out and bought one of these rigs. I must admit that they are super nice and worth every red-penny I had spent on it. However, as I was driving it back home from the dealership with a big'ol Texas sized grin, the rig started shaking really bad and I heard my wife screaming, ... "hunny, ... hunny, wake up, ... it's time for work!" So, sadly, I woke up and went to work at my job down at our local McDonalds. But ... it was sure was nice owning one in my dream while it lasted! ;-D

If I can ever afford a good Rv I’m definitely getting a super c rather than a class a Rv because I’d feel a lot more safe with a freightliner front end rather than a bus frontend where you are sitting literally inches from the front bumper and if you get in an accident I think you would do much better in a super c than a class a.

I actually expected the price to be much higher, fill the roof with solar panels and the only thing you would have to worry about then is the tanks. I would replace the toilets with high end compost toilets and eliminate the black tank all together and use the extra tank area for additional water storage. Then all you have left is grey water. With that change you could dry camp for weeks on end and then some. Hopefully it has over 1000 mile range without refueling. I would also use false walls behind the bedroom TV for a gun rack and other things for quick access. This thing is a beast!!!

    • @Weretherussos
      @Weretherussos  8 лет назад +3

Great ideas - check out our videos on ShowHauler, all custom and they go for between 350-500k (and better built than the Renegade). Since they're custom, you could absolutely have them install composting toilets and they have built in gun racks/safes behind false walls and panels :)

Great fun watching you guys review these fancy toys. As much as they would be nice the high price tags also brings higher operating and insurance costs, plus I would hate to leave it anywhere and tour around in the car. Also you're right about checking the usability when the slides are in, even more important if you run into freezing temperatures where slides can freeze in or out very easily. We have a 2012, 31 foot Winnebago Access Premier Class C, gives us lots of room for our travels, pulls our Mini Cooper and best of all it's paid for! Stay within your budget and you'll enjoy your travels even more. Cheers Gary

There is not always a chance to open slides when parked. Safety is a concern, and while many of the buses look amazing...having that truck nose out there sure is a big comfort !! Nice demo btw !!

  • @5AXISDLOCKHART

Very nicely done reviews. The Icon series is a bit too fancy for us common racers like myself. The time when the big class 8 super Cs make perfect sense is when loaded down with a race crew and all their stuff plus a trailer loaded with thousands of pounds of stuff. The safety and stability when towing is unmatched, fuel range is nice too. We carry 200 gallons of diesel and can go to most of our events out and back without needing fuel stops.

    • @Weretherussos
      @Weretherussos  8 лет назад +1

+David Lockhart when I [Joe] used to race, I'd rent a small trailer and pack all our stuff around the bike and squeeze as much as I could into the back of the pickup. Was always envious of the guys with RVs. I agree with you totally. If we had something like the Ikon when I raced, Kait would have made me sit outside and only come in when I had changed into clean clothes are the day was done!

Currently, have retired from RV life, cause of medical conditions/small retirement finances. Retirmenet funds have not met with the international financial index. SS Ins. is nothing, does not combat cost of living. Plus some genes, grow older faster; can not keep up with traveling.
My favorite is a small TOY HAULER; because there's a lot of things you could do in the attached rear garage and if you don't get a fifth wheel toy hauler, just conventional toy hauler, you can always get a new TOW UNIT: ( Truck or SUV); not out a lot of money compared to the class A or Class C motorhomes. Any types of RV Trailers, is having a diversified RV portfolio. I ENJOY the garage portion, great protected garage- patio, plus some have bath tubs and frt kitchen in the floorplan. I hate galley kitchen, cause of traffic flow issues. Garage is great storage for toys, or thro in air mattress, great sleeping. Slide outs are okay, but just another problem, when least expected. Solar panels are must have, better then generator….
Class A Motorhomes okay if you're going to be mobile, & have lot of bank accounts for infinity of repairs. . They're very expensive to maintain/ operate, they have a lot of toys on them, so be ready for breakdowns, warranties are useless. Accessories are known to break break break… If you wreck them, Ins. are very poor to pay out!! Not many mechanics really know how to work on them, expensive $$ beast. Good mechanics are working in union auto garages, not RV garages. Diesels are smelly, both around the patio and smells lurk in to the units interiors. I ditched my diesel, could not stand the smell of diesel around the coach.
Class C motorhomes are very mobile to get around, sleeper over the cab is a waste of time : either too hot or too cold for good sleeping and if your senior, it's very risky getting in and out of there. Plus if there's two people sleeping up there, the frame over the cab really can't support much activity. Class C is more affordable, less toys on them compared to the Class A & the upkeep is considerable less, plus USA parks are designed to fit class C, not class A.
I would prefer a truck frame chassis with a trailer attached to it, because if you don't like the truck frame chassis, always get another one, just remove the trailer, get a new Chev /Ford truck frame, and attach the trailer on to the frame.. Engines are up front, so repairs are much easier/ cheaper, cause of being accessible.
I have: Class A, Trailer and Truck camper. Truck / SUV are the only two of all of the above mentioned units, which have Lemon Law Protections. RV in general, carry no help from the courts and RV warranties, are collection of A-Z products and not insured by one manufacturer. My trailer is great for long length stays in the desert, Class A is okay, but expensive for interstate traveling and my camper has over 500,000 miles on it, as this is my weekend RV and gets a lot of usage. Wish my camper had a Murphy Bed, hate the over head sleeper and most of the time, sleep on floor. Store my units on my property and visit them daily.
SIDEBAR: Ageing, lack of finances, is not our friend for RV’s and traveling. Remember, RV’s are not loved by everyone, there is equal love/ hate for RV’s, as many call us trailer trash. Many cultures invading USA are not warm/fussy towards RV’s.
Stellar boon-docking is great, when traveling day to day. Prefer to pay to park and received full hookups and use the unit, which is was intended for: FULL HOOKUPS. Remember, there is no LEMON LAW to protect RV units, so off road n boon-dock with caution, as the units are built very fragile & not intended for moon terrain walking. Snow n freezing temps, are not RV best friend, no matter how they are rated, they have no LEMON LAW protection against severe low temps. Remember, over night fees for RV camping can be pricey, some are reaching $100 ( PLUS) per night and more and more are privately owned w/ annual membership by prescription.
Point of Interest, no RV was designed to travel: Snow, freezing temps and day after day rain/wind storms. Extreme weather quickly takes years off of the RV coach, there were not built for this abuse.
Here is a question for all RV owners: Do you advertise your bank account finances to the world? Reply: No!!!. So why advertise the cost of your RV to the world: via fancy paint jobs, luxury tow units, luxury tow boats, chrome everything/ anything. RV’s who advertise their wealth, are only advertising to the nation, I have arrived in wealth and heck with your thoughts. Flashy RV’s ruin lifestyles for everyone. Stellar & non-monochromatic downplayed units, fit in everywhere and are less offensive to the nation, which do not have RV’s. We live in a country of extreme biases. Less is really more, when traveling and exploring USA.
    littlefreelibrary.org/start/
I belong to this free library, allows me to pick up books for free, anywhere in the USA and return to any location. Every city has this and is free and better then internet books. I have spent days in parking lots, using Wifi for free, when many stores and restaurants provide it for free. Now the little library, allows for national library, where ever anyone travels for free. RV’s don’t need TV/ IT/when we have free books at our disposal. Remember, some books, government archived shows, you tube, news, etc. can be download from IT for free, providing 100 hrs of viewing, anytime, anywhere, without IT connections.

The 2 sofa couches are useless for what we need. We are not midgets and no kids. Full dinette table with facing seating not necessary, that would make room for a decent sized couch. That kids play pen couch would get replaced with a very expensive zero gravity message chair. Redesign that area and the kitchen counter to something useful. International Lonestar cab with Cummins 500hp+ power and a 13 spd Eaton manual, 3.08:1 axles, adjustable height rear air ride, tag axle disconnect, the plushest captain's chair with massage and capable of dragging 10,000 lbs+ car hauler is an absolute must. Paint it all black polyurethane, I'll do my own custom paint colors to match the trailer because I have yet to see a good paint job.

That's great. I'm surprised the hallway is so narrow and the bed is unusable without the slides open, but maybe that's a rare use-case.

Great review guys! That is one heck of a super C! We are shopping for a class B too full time in next year....(possibly the Winnebago Era 70C) a teeny bit smaller, haha! Thanks again for another great video! 😄

Oh cool. Our friends, The Snowmads, just got the Winnie Travato and it's really nice. We could see ourselves in something like that.

everyone talks about license. lmao this shit is over 700 grand... Beside, I cant fcking imagine the cost of fuel...... I rather get a nice ass house in texas + Class C RV and travel around with that cost.
The title of this video should be changed to this "Only if you are multi-millionaire, this is the one for you." XD

man lee - Absolutely, this is a motorhome for "millionaires". Unless of course, you want to get a mortgage on one of these and live in it for 30 years. Seriously, this is for people with money, cash, moolah, bread, coin, cabbage, loot, etc. Get my drift?

Actually most people lease these... As the maintenance cost and repair would out class your worry on fuel cost! I mean a set of tires set you back $10,000.00 for a set of ten! As tire prices have sky rocketed...

    • @danielcurtin7616

Compared to similar sized RVs the fuel burn won’t be that much different.

You can get a 2015-16 Kenworth with around 200k miles for $55k plus a badass 5th wheel rv for another $60-70 and that would be a fraction of what this costs

This poor guy seems very confused. He's showing an RV that's obviously and international chassis and he keeps calling it a Freightliner. Even says it's a Freightliner in the description of the video.

I Looked at the Renegade unit But being a 6'5 male I hit my head getting into the drivers seat of this unit .I didn't like it for that. I LOVE TRUCK UNITS FOR A MOBILE HOME / RV, To many RECALLS on the Freighliner / Volvo. I'll take the 48 ''Tandem, Quad slide-out Kingbed rear2 bathrooms stackable wash & a dryer, heated floors. Rear Car Garage with 10k High gloss polised Lift- gate.Thats my unit, yes 48'' feet, not 45

Love the looks of these but I can't help thinking they waste a lot of space within the vehicle length compared to a more traditional bus type RV. The engine sticks out of the front so much and there is no living space above the engine.

Typically they'll remove one of the windows and take them out that way if it doesn't fit through the door.
