Nice video all round Ben. To cap it off and make it so British you had a cup of tea at the finish line 😅😅😅 Glad to hear you enjoyed the Vertical Watch, I like the design also, it’s really nice and stylish in my opinion also, whilst also not being overly big.
Cheers Marc! Can't beat a good cuppa on the finish line mate 🤣👍 Thank you so much for allowing me to test out this fantastic watch. I am now a confirmed Suunto convert! It's going to be hard to give it back. 🤣
Great work, Ben and we'll done for getting it done. It sounds like a lovely event. It looks quite sandy in the final 4km. Always good to see everybodies favourite RUclips personality 'Zachary'. AWESOME!!
Cheers Neil! Yeah the last part of the course is very sandy. Tough going. It's always the highlight of my race to cross the line with Zachary. He's my hero. Thanks for watching mate! 😎🤘
Sooooo Ben it’s not enough running over 63km with over 500m elevation gain ??? You just chuck in a Suunto running watch review on top for good measure, not to mention filming and commentating to boot!!! AND manage all that in 6h20min!!! What a marvel you are!!!! I definitely have a lot more work to do I see!! 😅😆 BRAVO BRAVO Ben!! AND so proud of Dan too who still gritted it out and got to the finish line despite feeling so poorly… BRAVO to you both!! 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻🏃🏻♂️💪🏻
Great race vlog, Ben! Loved how you shared your thoughts on the Suunto Vertical watch during the run. Your insights on its styling and functionality are great but still love my Coros Apex Pro, hehe. Congrats on finishing strong! 💪 You are an inspiration, mate! 👏
Thanks for checking out the VLOG Mihai I really appreciate all your support mate. Suunto are pushing out some great watches these days. The last 2 models have been great. I look forward to see what they make next. Thanks once again buddy! 😎🤘
Ben, another amazing ultra and love the Suunto Vertical review while racing lol! Crazy! That climb at the end would've killed me mentally. Ugh. You smashed it with top place and time.
@@BenNotley I did have a look down the hill and saw some runners but wasn't sure if they were racing or not. Once I was back on the road after St Martha's I was getting it over with as soon as I could.
Super run there mate, looked solid and it's not easy on the hips all that flat running for so long, great effort and position overall too 🎉 STE are great organisers and like you day really nice community feel about the event. St Martha's is definitely the most scenic part of the route so good to have it towards the end!
Yeah my hip doesn't like all this running stuff. Maybe I have done too much of it 🤣 There were some lovely views of the South Downs but I think if you're going the other way they might be behind you so you might miss them. Thanks for watching Ben! 😎🤘
Nice work bud, love your positivity. Watched Dan's vlog first and felt for him as he was not feeling it - but he got the job done! As always mate, thanks for taking us along with you.
Cheers Shaun! Thanks for watching mate! So proud of Dan he's a proper inspiration. He was in the Hurt locker early on but he didn't give up. Proper hero! 😎🤘
Nicely done Ben! Incredible pace too 👍. Hope the ITB isn’t anything serious, mine still isn’t 100% either.🤬 I especially like the look you got at the end from the wife 😂😂
Cheers James! Great half marathon result for you today mate 👏 The ITB is improving I am sure it will clear up again in a few days time. Can't beat winding up Katie on the line 🤣👍
Top effort and 5th overall I see. Sub 4 marathon and then a long "warm down" is very good going. Nice to see so many familiar old railway bits on the way but shame about West Grinstead platforms being fenced off. Presume that short climb is the start of the diversion over Baynards Tunnel - tough one for sure especially after a marathon in your legs. Hope you didn't get stuck wrong side of railway crossing at Chilworth at the end. Shame about Dan but he did very well to get it done. Sometimes best to let each runner find their own rhythm - it is a race after all. I guess having some "free" time allowed you to get in a watch review - top multi tasking. Must say am tempted by this one at some point.
Cheers Gaz! I thought you were meant to be racing it too? Had a quiet week since the race but the legs still a bit sore. I am sure it will clear up eventually though. 😎🤘
@@BenNotley yeah I was signed up for that but I had a bit of an injury to a bip s few weeks before. Although better now I it was still a bit wonky at the time so I decided to save the effort as Shoreham is a long way to go just to limp back . Prior to that I was in the best form I'd been in years so I had a decent summer of running and surprised myself in a couple of mountain events . I will more or less just tick over with mostly road running until it gets light again and hopefully have another go at things next year.

🤣 multi tasking Bev 🤣👍 Pleased with how the race went. So proud of Dan for grinding it out and getting it done he's a real trooper. 😎🤘
Nicely done, Ben. Stinking performance - another solid brick in the wall.
Cheers Ian! It was a decent race mate. Thanks for watching buddy! 😎🤘

Great day, weather was perfect and you smashed it. 😊
Thanks Mother. We got lucky with the weather that day. Thanks for coming and cheering me on. 😊👍
I think I needed your watch to run better 🤣 Great to see how your race progressed!
It was an honour to tow the line with you as always mate! 💙
What an amazing scenic course! Great job, Ben! 🤓
It did have a few nice parts of scenery Heather. Thanks for watching! 😎🤘
Crushed it as always mate. Well done 👍🏻 I think Dan needs some magic green Injinji socks for next time 😁🏃♂️
Everyone needs a pair of Shrek socks Mark! They work wonders! 🤣👍 Thanks for watching mate! 😎🤘
Awesome running Ben and great video 🏃♂️👏 The downhill at the end was definitely the hardest part for me 🤪 Nice to see you there 👍😃
Cheers Ben! The pipe was an evil way to finish 🤣 Great to see you too bud! 😎🤘

Thanks Reto! Very kind of you mate! It was a nasty hill to finish on. The descent was worse than the climb. Thanks for watching mate! 😎🤘
3:56 - nice marathon trail time ! … I like the look of this route . Well done again buddy
That wasn’t a time stamp - meant to say 3 hrs 56
Cheers James! It's a decent race mate I think you would do well in it for sure. Thanks for watching mate! 😎🤘
Great race! You did awesome job Ben👍👍
Thanks very much Shawn! Thanks for watching buddy! 😎🤘
Love your running content, gives me inspiration for my lil' old 10k 's 😅
Thanks very much that's very kind! 😊👍 10k is such a great distance. You can do it easy or speedy. I love a good 10k. Thanks for watching! 😎🤘
This event looks right up my street being so flat! Great vid mate. Makes me want to sign up next year 😊
It's a good one Phil. Very runable course. I am sure you would enjoy it mate. Ear mark it for 2024. 😎🤘
Looks like you weren't too far behind me and was actually catching me up. I think I went through marathon in ~3:51. Well done.
Cheers James! I think I caught sight of you at the bottom of St Martha's but you pulled away quick mate! Great running! 👏 thanks for watching mate! 😎🤘

Cheers Grandad! 😎🤘
Great effort Ben - you made it look easy 😀
Cheers Claire! It certainly wasn't as easy as it looked 🤣 Thanks for watching! 😎🤘
Well done

This would be the ideal ultra for you Tim. Flat and fast and linked to rail history. I would recommend it to you for sure mate. 😎🤘
I think I need to upgrade my watch. Best wishes Ben.
I recommend the Suunto Vertical. It's a great bit of kit! Thanks for watching Nigel! 😎🤘
