He has no knowledge of tech , this guy just makes paid videos to get free shit , Austin sucks .. I think linus knows more about tech than this shit head ...
If a laptop is able to be that thin while maintaining an exceptional performance and battery life, think of the advantages you would get from a thicker laptop. The Razer Blade pro is twice as thick as the Acer and it has the potential to replace your desktop.
Apple took the headphone jack away to promote wireless audio when they don't have other wireless stuff such as NFC usable for something else than Apple Pay... And they have 750p screens and still have worse battery life than most modern Android phones, even though their phones cost more.
No-one's making *you* buy one, and remember when the Macbook Air was first seen and everyone was like "OMG that thing is useless! Y so thin!" and now Razer Blades are that thick and have 1080's in them?
Stoney Mahoney Fuck thin shit, Apple products are for children, elderly people and mentally retarded people who can't figure out how to operate anything else.
Agreed, my workplace purchased 100s of them and nobody uses them. Windows 10 isn't a real touch OS, it a non touch OS that has had touch features added into it. Even Office 2016 is just Office 2013 with a touch mode button added to make the icons bigger so you can mash them with your fingers. I hate finger prints on my screen as well, no way would I want a touch screen on my Imac at home or my Windows laptop at work. Its just a gimmick to get people buying the next new big thing.
Well, the want for touchscreens is mainly based off of principle, if you're gonna spend more than $1,000 for a computer nowadays, you'd want some sort of band-aid for the lack of a good port selection, and touch screens are just that. Besides, what's the harm in having one? If you're that preoccupied about fingerprints, just use a rag on the screen once in a while, that'll clear all those prints right up
For most laptops i would agree with you as i would rarely use the touchscreen except for some models of laptops (or tablets) like surface pro or the lenovo yoga series.
Ali Tube But you can't determine which CPU is better just because its heavier How about Osborne 1, it probably looks like they had fit a high end CPU with good heatsinks and a gtx1080 but nope
+Joe Raw That's not true at all. Take the macbook air for example. It has superb build quality and it is extremely light. It's like saying something expensive must be good - it's not true. Just like the macbook air, it's expensive, but not great for its price (although I absolutely love mine).
Ali Tube not true when it comes to basic web surfing, or when i need to smash out an essay a light weight Acer with a celeron and 4gbs of ram normally does the trick. Gaming is a whole different story and that is where my desktop comes into play.
If you want to stand a chance against people online you absolutely need at least 60fps. How can you expect to play well when all you're seeing is a slideshow?
Touchscreens are not made for laptops! They ruin operating systems. Windows 8 sucked because it was having an identity crises between being a laptop or a tablet.
You can always look at gaming laptops, their designs may be awkward for some but for example the Lenovo y530 and y730 are ideal choices if you are looking for performance and great design
Exactly. It excels at nothing. The only thing is that it's 2mm thinner than the rest. Which NO ONE will notice unless you have some extreme thickness OCD or something. Oh, and for 2mm you are paying double the price of a laptop with the same specs!
I'd rather have a thicker laptop than a thin one. same with a phone. I don't know why companies like apple think slimmer is better. I want a battery that can last at least a whole day with constant usage AND listen to music with wired headphones. and if I wanted a laptop that would be the same. (take notes apple)
Fandom Overlord portability is a big deal in laptops, thats the point of them at least, but thin helps nothing but bragging rights and profits. ive been looking at the aero 15x because its thin enough for transport but also has a giant battery AND good innards. they need to start cutting bezels in laptops more
I already have my second touchscreen laptop and wouldn't go back to a touchscreenless any more. I have used more and more touchscreen as I have grown used to it. Nowadays I rarely use the touchpad at all. It's way faster to tap the screen than move hand to touchpad, move cursor to button and click. You may not like touchscreens, but please don't think your opinion overrules everyone else's. I'd really recommend you try one for at least a month, you could change your mind.
If 4K, 1440p and 1080p laptops cost the same, I would take the 1080p. Any more is just wasting battery life for me in 13" form factor. BUT touch is very useful in my opinion and would gladly trade some battery life for that.
+1 Awp Gaming No, it's not "we" , it's just you wants fucking CSGO vids. Get your fanboy ass off a tech channel, there are already enough channels like that on yt.
My currently laptop is 13.4 x 10 x 1 inches and 5.2 pounds and I have ZERO issues carrying it around in its bag along with my mouse phone and 8.9" tablet.
2:01. No. You don't need a touchscreen. Why do you want a touchscreen that badly? The design of that particular Acer can't even allow a person to take proper full advantage of a touchscreen display.
My laptop has touchscreen, and I use it all the time. It's way more efficient to use than a trackpad. I really don't understand all these "touchscreen is useless on a laptop" comments.
Michael Flaherty you can purchase a great laptop that has a tablet feature as a bonus. I love mine and the touchscreen and tablet format makes my job very easy. I did lots of image analysis, this allowed me to interact with my data in a way that a track pad or a mouse couldn't and also reduced strain in my hands by doing so. After all that I would just return it in laptop form and typed my report.
upgradability, none. I personally look for laptops that will be able to be upgraded later on as needed for a much cheaper cost than having it installed off the bat.
And if it's sealed, usually (don't quote me on this) they are capable of being snapped open. If there are serviceable parts, which all laptops have, there is a way to get in there.
Hell I can replace the CPU by itself in my old Thinkpad T420 if I truly wanted to. AKA from my dual core i5 to a quad core i7. All without having to swap the mainboard around.
Im commenting on razer blade stealth u should buy it its amazing intel core i7-7500u processor 16gb of ram 512 gb ssd 2560x1440 resolution i mean Its amazing
RUclips User even a 3 inch laptop wouldn't be hard to carry and I see your point some people might not want a 3 inch laptop just a 1 inch but its not a big difference tbh
***** Yep. Closest thing, but not thin enough. I want it like this, with only USB-C - Even if that means it would sacrifice some power and/or battery life.
Blazenoise 358 Yep, but means a hell of a lot for ergonomics. I use a Surface Pro 4 every day and it's wonderful, but when I use it as a tablet I sure as hell wish it was thinner.
Well it got intel hd 620 which is enough for games like CS:GO, dota 2 , lol etc... spectre looks like much better choice than swift when it comes to price/performance and its only a LITTLE bit thicker .
but the y910 is a gaming all in one, with a 2160x1440 screen, 144hz and it has a gtx 1080. what i like in it is that everything is upgradeable except the processor.
Nichatte I prefer prebuilt computers and especially gaming all-in-ones. I know how to build a computer but i don't want to risk getting the parts broken etc.
Most likely not, as the Stream 11 was never meant for heavy applications such as games and you'll be hard-pressed to try and cram an i-series Intel processor.
^ what I have to say about it. I generally replace cpu's in 14-17in laptops that come with Pentiums etc. Its worth the money as long as you dont have any bottlenecks.
Nobody gives a fuck about thin laptops, All we want is Rugged and heavy duty and longer battery life laptops. And yes Hp released a better laptop which almost has all the ports
the thinner=better movement is really sad, thinner laptops have bad batteries bad keyboards less ports, crappy specs and no optical drives, basically bad computers
I'm In That Weird Part Of RUclips Again dude, thin laptops have very bad keyboard, also they are overpriced, BUT their spec is powerful enough for students need to travel a lot, also, no one even use a stupid optical drive anymore(even a full gaming PC in 2016 doesn't even have a optical drive like #BigRed the PC, also mine and other gamers don't even put in optical drive)
My laptop is 4 years old, it costed $600, it's just 3.17cm high and it runs cs:go at 1080p, medium settings, on a tv via hdmi, at solid 100fps... #dealwithit
\ XxRabyPower00xX / and i have razer blade stealth and im commenting on it currently its very thin too and it has intel core i7-7500u processor 16gb of ram and 512 gb ssd 2560x1440 resolution display I mean ITS FUKEN AMAZING RUNS CSGO LIKE 300 FPS
I hope Apple is reading these comments. People are sick of this ridiculous "thinness at all costs" race that they started. Once you start sacrificing basic functionality like keyboard travel and battery life, then it's too thin.
I have an Acer Aspire 3 lap top, the white one with the thick and quite heavy and solid chassi and lid. It`s the best lap top I have owned when it comes down to the screen with images in accurate colours. It`s also the only lap top with touch screen I`ve found that won`t wobble while pushing the screen. The only cons are poor battery life and the weight. I do own a Macbook Air as well which is the best design ever ((especially for palm resting and the battery life but the screen is really bad compared to the Acer Aspire. My Air is 2 years old and my Acer`s even older. I do have an Asus AIO pc with large touch sreen as well (more than two years old) and all these three functions very well.
I have the other version of this laptop with touchscreen, backlit keys and built-in LTE and love it, the thinness is incredible, even Apple can't beat it. That said, I wouldn't mind it being twice as thick if it meant battery lasted 3x as long which should be easily possible considering the battery only takes up about 30% of the laptop now and 2x as thick means extra thickness would be 100% battery. The "slow" cpu is plenty for browsing, videos and youtube and light gaming. And it's nice that it never gets warm and there's no fan noise.
@Austin I LOVE the quality of your videos; However, if I could provide some constructive criticism, I think you should adjust your top down camera view. Maybe pull it towards you a bit? I don't know, maybe it was just me. Thanks!
The gaming test is so bad. You should show us with what settings you can get 120fps at all times. Playing with the lowest settings at 640x480 is really not bad if there's no other way to get to 120. Source engine games should always be played in (monitor hz * 2)
Why would anyone care if a laptop is thin? I get you don't want to be carrying a bulky laptop around but I find my HP laptop thats around 1.5-2cm thick to be fine. Not too heavy at all why would anyone want this? My laptop works fine I do all my editing and gaming on it. Nothing special other than the thinness which to be honest is thicker than I'll ever be
The future looks awesome. Light, silent, fast, high end laptops where you can do anything on them with USB type C. Laptops, desktops, monitors, TVs, peripherals etc will be using it. However, that is not now.
not a work station?bro..i edit in 1080p60 fps with a 2008 pc, 2rams , an amd athlon x240 and a gt 730, i stay around 3 days for a render?ofc..but i still can get the jobe done
This laptop is fanless.
Because no one wants to buy a laptop this weak for that price c:
Hurriname Gg on that one

TamMyBoy just how you like men's laps!
jx592 yus
the ass was fat
spectre is a tiny bit thicker and comes with a real i7 7500u
Personally I'd rather have a Celeron + Budget Geforce or APU.
Just saying.

Who cares about 'the thinnest'. What about functionality and price/performance? What are we an Apple fanboy who doesn't care about specs?
No, were the android fam. Be together, not the same.
WTF you know what else apple did....make a 6s and change the camera design to call it a 7 😂
DYNAMO Don't forget no headphone jack
If a laptop is able to be that thin while maintaining an exceptional performance and battery life, think of the advantages you would get from a thicker laptop. The Razer Blade pro is twice as thick as the Acer and it has the potential to replace your desktop.

Abr3200 You must not be paying attention to the amount of shit apple gets then
No one said that
What do you expect of the #1 AppleFanboy?
yeah because there's a bunch of apple fanboys who like anything apple does , even if they sold that shit book for like 300 dollars its amazing
Graal TwinZies 300$?
This obsession with making laptops thinner is actually hurting usability now. Please stop making laptops thinner for thinness sake...
Profile pic suits this comment perfectly
Jarl Ballin' you can just buy a regular laptop, this is an Ultrabook
Blazei Masteru Regular laptops are too thin also

1k is too much for an acer laptop
especially for that cpu
I don't think you 2 understand why the price is 1k it's NOT because of the specs its because it has the fact that it is the WORLDS THINNEST LAPTOP
Bobo24 but its an ACER laptop
fightnight14 But Acer have made some good laptops as well like the nitro gaming ones
No that's not enough for an Acer laptop, Acer is one of the best companies when it comes to computers.
I want double thickness and more ports and good battery life
but then you can't use it as a frisbee!
But the battery capacity..
so buy a regular laptop wtf don't you people understand lol
VitaliiDaGamer yeah building one, would be able to fit all if not almost all of your needs/preferences
stryker914 Hahaha lol

Ashton Cofer because they are easy to make
It's quite expensive and hard to make a display without larger bezels cause you need to put the connector somewhere..

Making sure the laptop screen is well fitted?
Touchscreens on laptops are stupid. I don't want fingerprints on my screen.

Failed to comprehend thick*
personally I care more about how heavy a laptop is.
Evan Davis yes totally agree, weight generally means better built quality
Ali Tube I have a laptop made in 1999 and is as thick as 2 bricks on top of each other and is heavy so is it op?

Alex Suero he said the price in the video dumbass

In like 5 years there's gonne come a micro laptop
Bowser33 _Gamer11 We already have those. They're called smartphones
Jayden Santiago but are they microscopic? I thought so
Project Legend literally microscopic laptops would be unusable though.
Bowser33 _Gamer11 ....A cell phone?
Bowser33 _Gamer11 Sony already did that and it failed that was 10 years ago
35 fps in csgo. **GAGS**
I know its not, just a joke about how CS players always demand "200 fps or more blah blah"
If you want to stand a chance against people online you absolutely need at least 60fps. How can you expect to play well when all you're seeing is a slideshow?
But how is it that bad? The 360 played games in 30 fps and I raped everyone.
1. Aim Assist
2. Everyone else is at 30 fps on a 360, if someone is getting 30 fps in a game where everyone else is getting 60, they'll get fucked
Kenneth Wong your fuckin dumb
Touchscreens are not made for laptops! They ruin operating systems. Windows 8 sucked because it was having an identity crises between being a laptop or a tablet.
Soon enough thin will be out and powerful will be in.

Weak overpriced laptop lacking standard features. This is a glorified facebook machine. Moving on...
Smockie
Exactly. This pricey thin and useless laptop craze mystifies me.
IRNatman the mac? yup
T Hh
This is only slightly better than the 2016 macbook. Both laptops are horrible pieces of shit.

Pi why are you all up his grill meehn chill. Let him keep touching.
1100$ for this.
man i could get a gtx 1060 pc and a monitor and keyboard and mouse for this much.
Pc =/= laptop
or lets say. ssuure the portability part but i could get a better laptop than just thinner. for a tiny bit more an htc vive and a vr ready laptop
Λrcade lol ok, vr ready laptop? Wake up, your dreaming!
You can get all that even below 700$ and desktop>>>>>>>>>>>laptop
And a desk
That laptop will break easily unless you take very good care of it.
Skyler Cabrera I feel like I'll be able to snap it in half with medium force!
Noor Hussain yeah it's so thin that even a baby can mess it up
Acer made the best gaming laptop ever. It was heavy af.
moviemanNL 12 Acer laptops are among the best.
Austin if this had a touch screen the hinges would be so bouncy
i dont understand why you would need a touchscreen on a laptop
Do you use Windows 7? Since Windows after Windows 8 is very touch based.
Agreed! It would only be useful for one of those laptops that can be flip all away around to be used like a tablet.
i use windows 10, but i use it in exactly the same way i would use windows 7
Same its the best on convertible and 2-1 laptops
Because hipster fags.
Windows 7 and 10 let alone 8x don't need touch for jackshit.
For art a external drawing tablet/pad is better anyways.
I'd rather have a thicker laptop than a thin one. same with a phone.

I didn't realize how important wifi was untiii had to use my 120 KB cellular data speed to watch RUclips videos
He says macbook more than swift in this video...
Austin hey! This is guys.
Thin? Fuck that. Why can't we get a PC that's massive and has literally days worth of battery life and huge specs...
jordan torres nope. Ain't gonna happen. Too thick is too heavy, that shouldn't even be a laptop. Laptops main reason is portability
jasonteow Yea but why can't we get like a 1 inch thick laptop with better specs
jasonteow if a MAN. Can't carry a 5 pound laptop he shouldn't own one in the first place.

The design of that particular Acer can't even allow a person to take proper full advantage of a touchscreen display.

alexdiezg or the acer predator
I'm pretty sure the Acer Predator 21 is the world's thickest laptop on the market
Prasad Uchil HoveringAboveMyself oh, it's from Acer, not Asus! My bad, changed my top comment
upgradability, none. I personally look for laptops that will be able to be upgraded later on as needed for a much cheaper cost than having it installed off the bat.
Mavu-in Kirugoa Good luck then as plenty of high end laptops are sealed and thus, nonupgradeable.
And if it's sealed, usually (don't quote me on this) they are capable of being snapped open. If there are serviceable parts, which all laptops have, there is a way to get in there.
Yea, I understand that completely. Was replying primarily to Gabriel.

$1000 for this ? LOL.
Born Boy ? Do you know what MacBook are?
Blade Mastr I know. MacBook are on another level......of overpriced crap.
I dont get why they make them thin af like Wtf worse battery graphics card, etc and easier to break
Golden Gaming portability. Labtops are meant to be portable. That may mean to sacrifice some power , but hey that's why we have desktops.
ScribbleScrabble a 2-5 inch laptop ain't going to be hard to travel with plus you'd have to be so carefully with this just not to bend it
5 inch thick laptop... what?
RUclips User even a 3 inch laptop wouldn't be hard to carry and I see your point some people might not want a 3 inch laptop just a 1 inch but its not a big difference tbh
Golden Gaming for you
the real question is, will it blend?
TheAlienBros no but it will bend
Can Austin lend it to me?
that is the question!
My phone is less thiner than this :D
Tinki Gaming it's called thicker
Sinom ok, thx I will use it in the future
Tinki Gaming what brick do u have
why would you have gorrila glass on a laptop why not regular glass
Eclipse_PvP - Gamez Lmaoooo is this a joke?
no
can't they use regular glass unless it's a Microsoft surface or lenovo yoga ext...
Probably so it doesn't crack. Maybe to justify the pricetag too.
Eclipse_PvP - Gamez exactly what +woozyfoo said, so It doesn't crack
Which graphics card does this have?
Kevin Han Probably an Intel HD
I want a 2-1 laptop, you can flip 360 degrees and turn it to a table - And then as thin as this.
***** Yep. Closest thing, but not thin enough. I want it like this, with only USB-C - Even if that means it would sacrifice some power and/or battery life.
LZ it's only a couple millimeters thinner
a table or a tablet?
TheJoptionGuy tablet lol. sorry.
Blazenoise 358 Yep, but means a hell of a lot for ergonomics. I use a Surface Pro 4 every day and it's wonderful, but when I use it as a tablet I sure as hell wish it was thinner.
hp spectre ruins this with an i7, unfortunately has intel gpu
Killer Keemstar yeah, ok
Well it got intel hd 620 which is enough for games like CS:GO, dota 2 , lol etc... spectre looks like much better choice than swift when it comes to price/performance and its only a LITTLE bit thicker .
Jimbo H. why u care bro
It's not a gpu it's an apu..
Killer Keemstar Intel has had to license the concept of an apu for their cpus so, yeah they're really apus, cpus with integrated graphics.
Please review the all-in-one Lenovo Y910 gaming computer(has a full-sized 1070 or 1080)
Like if you want him to see this!
but the y910 is a gaming all in one, with a 2160x1440 screen, 144hz and it has a gtx 1080.
what i like in it is that everything is upgradeable except the processor.
What is the point to buy a desktop PC? just make it yourself it will be cheaper and better.
Nichatte I prefer prebuilt computers and especially gaming all-in-ones. I know how to build a computer but i don't want to risk getting the parts broken etc.
So if I replace my cpu on my slow Hp stream 11 I should be able to play light games like csgo ???!!!??? (replacing an Intel celeron processor)
Dr AurA Yes there is, I do it all the time...
GamerZoneArmy- No, not very much if you want better performance, on most games you'd have to change the GPU, which you can't do on a laptop
FXZ7 Sure you can, not saying its cheap/worth it. but you can do a motherboard swap to a version with a GPU. (I've done this)
he attac
he protec
but most importantly, he not thicc.
Sadly. This joke doesn’t make sense.
Nobody gives a fuck about thin laptops,
All we want is Rugged and heavy duty and longer battery life laptops.
And yes Hp released a better laptop which almost has all the ports
the thinner=better movement is really sad, thinner laptops have bad batteries bad keyboards less ports, crappy specs and no optical drives, basically bad computers
not to mention they can often be flimsy and fragile
I'm In That Weird Part Of RUclips Again The nicer the easier it breaks. The more bulkier, the less chance of breaking. As a desktop user, i can agree.
I'm In That Weird Part Of RUclips Again WTF
Keandre Espina alright
I'm In That Weird Part Of RUclips Again dude, thin laptops have very bad keyboard, also they are overpriced, BUT their spec is powerful enough for students need to travel a lot, also, no one even use a stupid optical drive anymore(even a full gaming PC in 2016 doesn't even have a optical drive like #BigRed the PC, also mine and other gamers don't even put in optical drive)
I think that thing is ugly! I'd never own it for sure.
Larry Watkins no one asked
I never said they did smart ass!
Larry Watkins You can't call something ugly when you look like Jabba the hut.
Neptune ᄏᄆ You can’t insult the way someone looks if you aren’t willing to put a picture of yourself out there.
I thought the laptop was a huge instruction Manuel
Apple haters comments about dongles in 3....2.....1......
Oh wait! That's a PC!!!
It's good not gud. And could not cud.
But those "words" are pronounced the same.
LOLFlyingPotatoes
No
merry Christmas
Leopold Slikk u right 😂😂
for someone poeple it is probably
Leopold Slikk In my country, Germany, we are celebrated at the 24th and not the 25th :)
Rocky712 - Let´s Plays OMG I'm in Germany right now 😀
Metal Rocker haha xD
My laptop is 4 years old, it costed $600, it's just 3.17cm high and it runs cs:go at 1080p, medium settings, on a tv via hdmi, at solid 100fps... #dealwithit
it's not made for gaming, but it's still trash
\ XxRabyPower00xX / and i have razer blade stealth and im commenting on it currently its very thin too and it has intel core i7-7500u processor 16gb of ram and 512 gb ssd
2560x1440 resolution display
I mean
ITS FUKEN AMAZING RUNS CSGO LIKE 300 FPS
BikeRaceBoyy dont lie fucking idiot 😂
No i think u are just jealous it was gift from grandpa
Yes why i love her
I hope Apple is reading these comments. People are sick of this ridiculous "thinness at all costs" race that they started. Once you start sacrificing basic functionality like keyboard travel and battery life, then it's too thin.
720p30 on CS:GO and NO USB-A ports for ~$975. If the design wasn't so elegant i'd say this is worst laptop ever for the money.
Acer laptops are rubbish enough said
PKTV well acer kinda mastered the art of chromebooks.
(Cough) Acer Predator (Cough)
Acer predator helios 300 and predator 21 x
Acer aspire v15 nitro is a solid laptop tho
This is cool but I personally just never have been a fan or Acers quality
Like they just seem cheap to me and doesn't seem as sturdy
i think laptop that labelled "most" like this most thinnest laptop are just about to proof a point, price/performance score are for another laptop.
Why he look like Eobard Thwane from The Flash? (Aka Reverse Flash)
what isyour cs:go rank?
is it the same color as the acer logo on the laptop?
2pvideo ohhhhhhh
I'm supposed to be making relevant comments to this video but this one forced meme keeps thinking it's funny.
I don't really understand. Why do laptops need to be paper-thin? They just get worse from it.
I still don't know why people wanted to touch a HD screen which make them dirty and finger printed 😕
Apple might watch this and destroy their MacBook Pro 2016
If you want thin get a iPad and just get a keyboard that's as thin as it gets
hi friend
how to xBox and ps4 ps3 ps2 remote connect with PC please please please please please help me
Honestly, with that screen wobble, is a touch screen even worth it?

Idk, I kind of like having a hunkier pc. Makes me feel powerful
Nice but I still love my MacBook Pro 15"!
Fuck it for this price you could get an overpriced MacBook Air
Eww, it's like a MacBook but with worse build quality.
I want double thickness and more ports and good battery life
You should consider making a new 3ds video, Austin.
What about the hp specter? It has a i7 and it's super thin.
Too thin
I only care about how thick a laptop is, not how thin it is.
only if it had a display like dell xps 15!
You never answered the question that is in your title......
this is too thin cause there is no usb ports
is there any USB-C to Display Port adapter?
The next MacBook probably won't have any ports
Thanks!
0:35 *Cough Cough* Apple
What about 0:45?
You should colab with tech gear pro
I thought the HP spectre 2 was the worlds thinnest
not a work station?bro..i edit in 1080p60 fps with a 2008 pc, 2rams , an amd athlon x240 and a gt 730, i stay around 3 days for a render?ofc..but i still can get the jobe done
