God please forgive me for any weakness I have exhibited when my prayers for my wife's ovarian cancer remission have not been answered. Grant me the grace to know you hear these prayers, love her and acknowledge our pain. You are loving, compassionate, patient God that is with her always! In Jesus's name I pray, amen!

Just close your eyes and let Leviticus wash over you. It's a set of rules for a priest class that no longer exists. You don't have to memorize, just understand.
Leviticus and the Mass are both God asking us to worship Him in a particular way and us doing so. Oh my gosh how did I never understand that before. It's just like when we learn the love languages of our friends and loved ones and we make choices to show them love in the ways that are meaningful to them. I recently had a conversation with someone who has been struggling to come back to Mass since the pandemic, wondering what he's getting out of it that's more than what he gets out of an hour with scripture. I can't wait to share this revelation with him and with others. We're not wrong to love God in other ways - but if a friend tells us, "I feel most loved when you do xyz," don't we try to do xyz for them? So too it is with God. Praying for everyone on this journey with me, whether it be your first time like it is mine or you're back for another round, and praying for Father Mike and the UMD Newman Center. A great reminder of how the father-in-law of Moses and father of Zipporah could have two names- Reuel and Jethro. Just like Jacob & Israel, Simon & Peter, etc. Again, I love how it has been shared with the fine details of the burnt offerings. Fat and blood belong to God. Thus, anything excess (fat) and everything- life itself- (blood) belongs to God. It's true that we shouldn't think that God isn't with us just because we are not getting rid of our problems. We must try to see the details of our situation and how God must be helping us in hidden ways. Like how God helped Moses and the people of Israel not by destroying their cruel masters but by getting them out of the land eventually. Their freedom and our freedom is indeed to glorify God and that's because God is our compass and without it, we will be clueless. Thank you so much for sharing many hidden lessons, Fr. Mike and Team Ascension. God bless you and the fellow listeners!
Lord please remember me and make me and my sister Oby fruitful. Heal my womb and let me bear children and be a mother. Protect my friend Maureen and her unborn child and may she have a healthy pregnancy and deliver a very healthy child. I love the part today where Father Mike says that even though it may seem like God is not answering one particular prayer, He is still answering SOOO many other prayers! This is so helpful, as we all tend to dwell on what's wrong. But when I turn and look at all my blessings, it's so obvious. Praise God. I also trust that although it seems like a prayer isn't being answered, God is working on me in a way that I won't see until later, if at all. But I find that usually I do recognize it later, and give thanks that I didn't get what I was asking for in that moment, because it was not the right time. Thank you Father Mike for this amazing series.
It is important to remember we can never know God's thoughts... there are reasons we suffer and that we undergo hardship to form us, to give us what is needed to enact in the future, what God has potentially laid out for us.

Thank you Father Mike. I am really trying to grasp this Bible study. Thank you for explaining the 2 names for one person . I am missing my partner who I split up with after 16 years , he has a tumor on his liver but it has shrunk and caught at early stage. So while I was really missing him. I decided to do my Bible study as only God can help in all situations and just by listening to Gods word I am healed of loneliness or sadness. Thank you Father God 🙏 God bless everyone on here ❤️

I had the same question about Reuel/Jethro, and I'm so thankful we have Fr. Mike's guidance in our journey through the scriptures. It's day 28 and they say 14 days make a habit. I'm praying this would be a strong habit for all of us embarking on this great adventure! For a blessed 300+ days ahead!

interesting that in the sacrifice offerings it specifically stated no honey to be offered, from a quick look on here it was because it was offered to idols. God needed them to be set apart. Can't say I had noticed that before.

I am learning so much and I noticing some day are easy to do podcast then RUclips for weekend or family coming over but then once I am able to be lone I see the RUclips and wow I am wait you say what lol 😂 . Estoy presionando las oraciones que todos nos dan... Estoy aprendiendo mucho y me di cuenta de que algún día es fácil hacer podcast, luego RUclips para el fin de semana o la familia viene, pero luego, una vez que pueda estar solo, veo RUclips y guau, estoy esperando, digas qué, jaja 😂 . Donde echo de menos alguna parte. Tan agradecido por la forma diferente en que podemos ver u oír esto... todavía haciendo inglés y español, es tan increíble... Los guardo a los dos en mis oraciones..

分享：
1.Ex 3: 1-6 Mount. of Horeb是Mount. Sinai的別稱，其重要性有三：Mount. Sinai是Hebrews逃離Egypt及奴役後與上主立約的山（申命記 5:2；列王紀上 8:9；歷代誌下 5:10）；(2) Mount. Horeb是Moses在繼續穿越沙漠前往應許之地的旅程之前接受十誡和法律、規則和指示的地方；(3) Mount. Horeb是天主的山。Verse 2 上主的使者是道成肉身前的基督；這是很重要的，因為天使向我們表明：上主不僅選擇了一個人並賦予他們神性 （如聖祖們）； 基督也不是受造物。 在道成肉身之前，祂也沒有在永恆中無所事事。 甚至早在道成肉身之前，祂就扮演了重要的角色。燃燒的荊棘是一個神蹟，是摩西見證的許多神蹟中的第一個。 聖經沒有提到上主選擇這種方式向Moses顯現的任何具體原因。 很明顯，祂知道這會吸引Moses去那裡，這樣他們就可以交談了。我們也知道火是聖潔的象徵（很多時候提到天堂也提到火。），火是一種淨化力量。 火向我們表明，上帝掌管自然，祂有超自然的能力。摩西成長在Egypt多神論的環境，這些神明實際上是沒有力量的偶像。 Moses看到真正的上主事物的各元素之上展現力量，這會幫助他相信上主是真實的。如果Moses要接受交給他的任務，這種信仰將是基礎。 此外，Verse 6提到了天父（Abraham的神、Issac的神及Jacob的神），使人覺得祂不僅是三位一體的一位成員出現在燃燒的灌木叢中，而是整個天主性。

3.Ex 3: 14 啟示上主的名字：我是自有者（I AM WHO I AM)，這個名號指出天主的超越性、和祂創造、照顧萬物的全能。今天的基督徒理解這個名字的分量和權力，以及對瞭解上主是誰的複雜性是很重要。 祂包羅萬象，自給自足。 這是一個超乎名字的名字，提醒信徒：上主在掌管一切，祂看顧祂的兒女。 這個名字還確認了救主是上主之子的身份。 在日常生活的掙扎中很容易忘記上主的威嚴和聖潔，但默想祂給自己的名字，以及這各名字所代表的一切，可以幫助我們正確看待我們在世上的時間。 上主是無限的，祂掌管我們的生命，祂就是祂。
4. Ex 3: 15-20 若只依靠Moses自己的力量，召集長老的命令說起來容易做起來難。藉由天主的力量，祂行了奇蹟；長老對Moses的一些疑慮和懷疑得到解決之後。上主想向所有人展示Pharaoh的驕傲之深和他的極端固執，以表明當他對Moses請求三天的旅程，如此簡單的要求都不能滿足時，所有的責任都在他身上。上主會強迫Pharaoh，祂會用奇事打擊Egyptian，Israelites最終帶著Egypt的戰利品離開，Moses遂終於完成上主所交待的使命
5.Ex 3: 21-22 這種行為是基於賠償損失的理由，Egyptian無理由的壓迫和剝奪Israelites的一切所有，天主也讓Israel子民剝奪Egyptian。
6.Le 2: 1-16 素祭預表基督的生活成聖，獻祭之人將自己的生活和工作獻給天主，以至成聖。素祭是獻與上主為馨香的火祭，素祭可以單獨奉獻或素祭與燔祭加上奠祭為全會眾每日兩次獻上的「馨香祭」。素祭：不流血的祭品（麵粉、果食、麥穗、油和乳香），蜂蜜不可作為祭品。素祭是用細麵澆上油，加上乳香，必須要放上些許的食鹽，稱為「盟約之鹽」。在上述的祭物中，除了乳香不能吃食，一份應全被焚燒在祭壇上，作為記念。除外，另一部份留下來交給司祭，作為司祭服務的報酬。
7. Le 3: 1-17和平祭是一種私人的敬禮，稱為「中悅上主的馨香的火祭」（Verse 5）。故此在地位和價值上比全燔祭要稍次一等，因為全燔祭固然也可以作為私人的祭禮來奉獻，但它主要是為了全體百姓的利益而奉獻的公共祭獻。和平祭的目的要者不外是：其一感謝天主所賜予的恩惠，故此也稱為感恩祭；其二還願的祭禮。有時也是為同天主重新建立友好和平的關係，重新獲得天主的眷顧和愛護。和平祭所需的物品猶如第一章有關全燔祭的規定，有牛犧牲和平祭（Verses 1-5）；羊犧牲和平祭（Verses 6-16）；最後一節是血與脂肪的禁令（Verse 17）。和平祭所奉獻的也是大小兩樣不同的家畜，與全燔祭不同的地方，是這裡不再分牝牡，只要是無殘缺瑕疵的家畜，就可以用來當作和平祭獻於天主。全燔祭的祭品必須是公牛或公羊才可以，是以規定比較嚴格。和平祭的祭品應分為三份：(1)一份獻於天主，以火焚燒； (2) 一份獻於天主，歸於司祭； (3) 一份歸奉獻者及家人享用。
疑問：
1. 從Ex 2結束到Ex 3 開始之間過去了多少時間？40年嗎？
2.為何Moses的岳父有二個名字：Reuel & Jethro?
3. Ex 3: 6 提及Abraham的天主、Issac的天主及Jacob的天主，但為何未提及Joseph的天主？
3.為何Moses怕見天主？因為他恐懼能力不足？或因為他故表謙虛？
4.素祭與和平祭源自那一個時代？Moses時代以前就有了嗎？
5. 素祭與和平祭使用那些器皿？
6.和平祭給一份祭品給奉獻者及家人享用，請問要幾天食用完畢？
