I met Renee and her family one night at a restaurant I was working at. I was trying hard to protect her. She heard me talk to nearby guests who would ask if that was Renee Zellweger and I would say "no" and "who is Renee Zellweger?" She let me sit by her as she signed a piece of paper for me. She laid her hand on my wrist and thanked me for trying as people came to to the table. She is Beautiful, warm, friendly, and classy.
People are such assholes, let's just interrupt someone trying to have a nice dinner, God forbid I leave her alone long enough to consume an entire meal and relax, all for nothing but their stupid elevated sense of self. Shameful! TY for trying to keep the ass faces at bay.
I feel like this is the most real I have ever seen Renee. It is refreshing to see and I love her Texan accent. I love how in tune she was with her and her mom's experience during the premier. It humanizes her and shows she has similar worries and relationship dynamics that we can all relate to.
Chelsea's gift as an interviewer really shines here, I had no idea Rene Zellweger's waters ran so deep. Chelsea's approach is such a refreshing counterbalance to the all too common, focus on Celebrity. Keepin it real!
I've never liked Chelsea. She's a mean girl. Seems like she's trying too hard to be the "perfect" interviewer with her little foods set out. Give it a rest Chelsea. Your ship has sailed.
Why does it seem like that we are eavesdropping on a private convo? I really like this interview and the two of them. The questions Chelsea asked were great. And Renee's answers highlight her genuineness, humbleness, professionalism, and sweetness.
It's a pretty sad reflection when these two powerfully honest and present women sit down to share a deeply thoughtful 13.5 minutes with the world, and half of the comments are about Rene's face. I think it's beautiful how down to earth and personal they both are in this interview and I find it to be truly empowering. We are all human with fears and insecurities. So let's just get on with it and accept each other, and accept ourselves, as is.
Truly "down to earth" woman, do not get thousands of dollars worth of surgery to completely change the way they look. People comment on her face because she has drastically changed it via surgical procedures. Yes, when you do that, people will notice. I don't find it "empowering" when a woman is so vain, that they take these measures. I feel empowered by women who are changing the world, not their faces.
I think it's sad that this amazing woman resorted to butchering her face to follow some unrealistic beauty standard. Girl needs to work on self-esteem. Granted, I agree that vitriol on any level is unnecessary and petty.
This interview is probably my favorite I've seen of her! She's so down to earth and surprisingly normal and grounded. And you did a great job, Chelsea.
I've adored Renee's beauty and talent for many years and it's so heartwarming to find out she's just as beautiful on the inside ! What a sweet, caring, kind, smart, funny & gentle individual ! Thanx for your comment !!
One thing I like about myself is I am able to feel empathy and am compassionate. One thing I would tell my younger self is to say and do what you want, and be nicer to myself.
Hollywood is brutal. If you don't have plastic surgery , you have let yourself go and you are punished. If you do have plastic surgery and pretend you didn't have it, you are also punished. You are punished if you are honest about your procedures because you are inauthentic. It is impossible to be on top of your looks 24/7, but celebrities are expected to do so (women much more than men). I would go crazy in such an environment and it is only healthy to take a break for a while and focus on yourself and your family.
I think she had to have her face repaired after gaining weight for BJD and then losing it quickly for Chicago. She obviously had the skin removing/tightening surgery on her face....it was noticeable in BJD 2. Her face looked pinched around the edges like the Michelin man. Thought she looked good with the weight....all 133 lbs on her 5’7” frame. Many Brits were unaware she was from Texas.
It’s not just not Hollywood. Is society and the fans, they’re the ones that criticized the most and will say things like “you are too old for that” and the fact that there are people making a comment about it? Whether someone has or not a plastic surgery it’s none of our business there for we should never mention or questioned. I have never mentioned or quesiton a plastic surgery from anybody famous or not, that’s how I was raised,
I love Renee Zellweger's work (massive, massive talent) and her personality along with her vast intelligence/wisdom/humility makes her an all-star, all-round marvel of a human being. Chelsea's questions were superb.
you see the difference when a woman interviews, there are no sexual innuendos, just deep talk. Thas why we need more of them. BTW great job Chelsea, manage to mix deep with funny, she was in charge despite Renee being a little tough and shy. And Rennee is very sweet, deep and pretty, still photos dont do her justice
@@09nob well,,, not that we publicly know of,,,, but my wisen granny had a lot of sage advice that I wished I would have published. There is such a wisdom in the world of life experiences of both genders my dear friend
There are plenty of female interviewers that are absolutely embarrassing and flirt with their guests. I saw this in plenty of interviews with Jared Leto, or Jake Gyllenhaal or Bradley Cooper. Men are objectified also in this industry and not all women interviewers are professional.
Wow! I loved this interview. Reminded me of shows like 'Oprah' where the guests and the host are so honest about their life and not just random gossips and 'who are you wearing' nonsense
It's so refreshing and delectable to listen at those women talking, think, shape ideas and express themselves like a normal human being. Thank you for that. A real conversation.
She's so humble and introspective. I like her, and I don't like many actors in Hollywood these days. Good interview too. I don't usually like Chelsea, but she's good in this interview.
she's a very genuine person, I've met her a couple of times. seems she's managed to maintain who she is, outside of the fact that she may have had minor surgery and works for a crazy industry.
Laura Henry Being an aging actrice or model of course mus be terrifying, I don't know if I could deal with it. You end up losing and you know it no matter what you do.
I doubt she will ever feel the need to discuss any minor procedures she had done, but i have to think that a person with heavily hooded eyelids might NEED surgery to reduce them as they age, just so they can see properly.
I think she looks good. It’s not what we think it’s how she feels. She’s been beat up over doing what almost every woman with the financial means would do. She’s beautiful inside and out!!
she's so pleasant and calm to listen to, i do find some celebrities are very in your face, and maybe it's just an act they put on for big events ( i can imagine how loud it is on red carpet etc.) but i've always found renee in her acting roles so lovely, and just soft and gentle.
Seeing Renee asking questions right back at Chelsea shows her curiosity, and this is a form of great intellegence. Being able to take those questions in the form of giving it back to the interviewer its great to watch. Chelsea is still aggressive af, but I really loved this.
Dang, gotta love Renee, gotta love her, she's so sweet, the real deal. Saw her at a restaurant with her parents one afternoon - she's much more petite in real life than I'd have expected - but she had the same bright kind energy I see here, just lower keyed. Renee has been acting for decades, “Empire Records” with Liv Tyler; she is professional and a Great actor! Loved her in Bridget Jones franchise, Cold Mountain, CHICAGO, Jerry Maguire, etc.
Renee seems like a sweetheart and most importantly, REAL. Glad she’s finally getting the recognition she should get, especially after her brilliance in Bridget Jones and Chicago.
Very down to earth , very humble , honest and mature on Renee’s side , interviewing is hard as questions have to be answered , but it is still professionally pulled off , the interviewer being herself and not at all pretentious is very refreshing.
I absolutely love her in every movie I've seen but I loved her even more when she played with Hugh Grant ..saw all of them! And I think she's hilarious and very good actress
What the heck is so "phenomenal" about this interview? It's two ordinary women chatting about banal subjects. And furthermore, I have lost respect for Renee because of her face job. I think it's pathetic. She was already beautiful, she's intelligent - why ON EARTH would she succumb to such Hollywood pressure?
Cordelia Brown Should she submit to YOUR pressure and follow YOUR values instead of Hollywood's (or maybe even, God forbid, her OWN, lol)? Is that how this works? Her face, her choice. Besides, who knows? Maybe her face just changed with age. None of our business anyway. She's not hurting anyone so what she decides to do with her own face and body is, surprisingly, not your decision or business: it's hers.
I saw her house in Katy, TX, it was nice built by her dad in mid -70s, people in Tx still recall Renee very well, she did a film called Love and a .45 in Austin, agents from William Morris saw her and offered to sign her if she would move to LA, she got a huge break there -- most folks move to LA and struggle to get an agent, two of my friends from acting class went there and never got very far -- it's a very risky career to pursue
Great questions Chelsea. You both look great. I could gave gotten into this conversation. Women are so fucking cool! Great to see Renee. It's been a while.
I remember when she stayed out of Hollywood for a while and re-emerged with a new “look” to her and people were all freaked out by how different she appeared. Like people, we all age and I certainly don’t look the same 10 years ago
I met Renee when I worked at Guitar Center on Sunset Strip in LA in 1999. She came in to purchase a guitar and the sheet music of her friends favorite Eagle’s song so she could play it for them on their birthday ( if memory serves me correctly, she didn't even know how to play guitar )She’s not kidding when she says she’s a good friend, what a loving gesture! She was so sweet and down to earth, we chatted for quite a while, nothing about her celebrity, just about learning her friend's favorite song and about her being from Texas. Many celebrities came into that store and none of them (that I met) were as grounded, genuine and personable as Renee... truly a lovely person!
So glad to see this interview. I remember watching endless episodes of The Actor's Studio about 10 years ago, and nearly every episode was with a male actor. If an actress was featured, she was inevitably under 40, like Natalie Portman or Drew Barrymore (like I said, this was ten years ago). It was like actresses didn't exist once they reached middle age.
I really like these one on one interviews she does from home. they are more real. the actors seem relaxed and comfortable when there isnt an audience. Chelsea is such a good interviewer.
Nice! Interesting interview with lovely Renee! Being a Norwegian myself I'm very pleased to know she's Norwegian related, even from the same areas of Norway as me! 😍👍
She is beautiful. I like the new pics I'm seeing of her with her eyes more sparkling and open. I feel it shows her expressions and who she really is inside more. She is really stunning.
What a genuine, down to Earth individual. I love that she asks Chelsea a question during the interview. It made it seem like a splendid conversation between friends.
Wow - different side of Chelsea Handler. Really enjoyed her maturity and kindness in this interview. I've always liked Renee and her honest and genuine nature.

One of Chelseas best interviews I think she really prepared and it really flowed .

She's amazing in What/If. Love her!
Renee has a fantastic British accent that a lot of other actors can't do. She holds it really well.
