Hi Ramsey, since I see people asking about current-vintage comparisons, I’d like to ask you something a bit different on this topic. I own some of my favorites (Antaeus, Kouros, Bel Ami, Santos…) in multiple versions: deep vintage (let’s say pre-barcode), mid-vintage (short list) and current formulation. The current ones aren’t on par with the older stuff BUT for some reason I find myself reaching for the mid-vintages more often. They feel smoother and more refined, but still full-bodied. It may be they’re better preserved due to being more recent or maybe they had already been reformulated to better suit the general taste of that specific period. Do you have any opinion about it? Its interesting you say that because I felt the same way about the first reformulation of Bel Ami... I thought I liked it even better than the vintage shaker bottle... although now I just lump the shaker and first reform together as "Vintage" but I know exactly what you mean .. great topic ... maybe a live stream topic one stream 😎
I know this is an ill-timed comment and on an *Amouage overview - which, btw, I do truly appreciate you doing these since I've stopped F'ing with this brand since their Enclave/Ashore/Meander releases - but, I too felt Rich Mitch's comparison of the three Egoistes is very spot on. That stated I still look forward to your assessment of them, no doubt, so I'll be watching out.. Imh comparison, I put the Concentre as 4K (or THX 5.1), EdT over logo 1080p (or Dolby 5.1), and the current version as 720 (or Dolby 3.1) 😆...Cheers, buddy, I hope you're smelling and living great today 🙏
Hey Ramsey awesome live stream. Easily the funniest fragrance stream I have seen in a while. I was wondering since I’m looking to pick up Bel ame, Chypre palatin, Jubilation 25 woman and Epic woman in the next 2 months how you would rank the Amouage in most necessary to own. Honestly I trust your nose a lot and since I can’t just go out and buy all 4 at once which do you think you would pick out of the 4 or which of those two Amouages would you get first. I would love you get a hold of non magnetic caps for the amouages but I have not the slightest clue where I would even find them.I like epic a lot but nobody carries testers for jubilation 25 for women in either Bloomingdale’s or Neimans. Oh my god thats a tough question .. the only way I can answer is the I view Jubilation 25 for women for vs Epic woman is Jubilation 25 woman is going to a ball and putting on your best highest quality fragrance... while epic woman is staying home but wanting to your best highest quality fragrance.. the tea note in epic woman is one of my favorites in all of perfumery... but in Jubilation Woman there is this chypre accord that hints at Diaghilev... it punches wayyyyy above its weight class as dar as value for $$ goes... happy hunting 🍻

Great video fella... i love Amouage, not in my budget to buy all the Amouage, I have 6 and i have to say Enclave is by far the weakest...(got it really cheap so i bought it blind) Journey, Epic, Lyric, Sunshine, Beach hut and Portrayal are all treasured. On my list are Imitation and Overture... I liked Bracken but the clove was a bit much for me as I am not the biggest fan of clove,, but thatis what Amouage was all about to me, they didn't play it super safe, to me their creativity was and should be their strength, its ok that some are not for me as they will be for someone else. Have you tried Mr Smellys 3 fragrances? He is a vintage fan and his fragrances are made by John Stephens, a perfumer in the UK. They are vintage style with a modern twist I guess and are by niche standards very cheap. Anyway, happy Friday from North London Burbs.. 😘
I have a sample of Gravitas PH... smelly reached out to me and said he would send me his fragrance line and then never did 🤷♂️ But since I have a few precious drops of Gravitas I will do an early impression video soon... thanks for watching & commenting 😊
@@RamseytheRam gravitas is a good quality fougere, the twist to my nose is vanilla that adds a twist. Hearing how you are not a fan of sweetness i will be interested to hear your views when you get around to it. Its not my favourite of thd 3 but its not a bsd fragrance at all. Enjoy your day.

Probably wanted Chong to fall in line with the all new concept they adapted and he just couldn’t do it ,obviously . I buy Guidance yesterday and its liitle wierd but I like ti. Lots of creamy huzelnut, some fruit, but I can get pear, more something like peach, lot of jasmin, vanila and maybe ambergris give some vibe I cant explain. More femi, but I dont have problem. For me best Amouage of non-Chong era.
I think ill be giving these a wide berth!.... but I am on the hunt for vintage amouage. So whenever i watch your videos i always have another tab open, searching for fragrances.... dangerous i know, ha but i seem to pickup so many great finds when you remind me of something i dont have yet... this evening is no exeption as I just picked up a 90% full bottle of tigerlust for a quarter of retail price... the guy selling it, car had imploded and he needed money quick! and also had other EO's and Areej's going cheap (one's i have).... but I need to be sensible after a crazy year of buying new juice... but I thought it was just too good to pass on, as it seems to be discontinued and not on the website.... I have high hopes for my first EO and if it's half as good as my Chinese oud I'll be more than happy 🙂
My favorite Amouage is Musk Abyadh. It's one of the most amazing white Musk fragrances I've ever smelled and I've smelled hundreds. You might not like it knowing your taste, but it's the only Amouage I've loved.
My pocket book doesnt appreciate My honesty 😂😂😂 it is not a great attribute to have if money is your focus .. i just dont have the cut throat business tactics in me
I like purpose... Not sure if it is a love though. For me it could use some kind of sweetness/amber oraybe more dimensionality or something. But maybe it is actually pretty awesome. The smell of woods and a campfire out there and some semblance of that crazy (lol) "shamanic" brief does appeal to me. May buy a bottle when it's finally at discounters.
@@RamseytheRam they will go out of business if they do that. Amouage is my favorite brand but I'll be damned if I pay 360 for a bottle of purpose. Absurd. I have 13 bottles of them and they are my crown jewel, would never have bought any if they were 360 each. There's only a few Rojas I would consider spending that kind of money on any bottle.

I got the samples for both Lineage and Guidance. Lineage is super weird and I felt like sushi the whole time I wore it. No full bottle. Guidance is nice in the opening and does last for a long time as advertised. However at the 8-10hr mark it leaves a residual smell that reads like fishy BO that’s unbearable. My son actually got up and left my side on movie night saying he got a whiff of my arm and it’s bad. So it’s not just me. I rubbed some popcorn butter on it to help hide it. I think I may go for a 10ml of Guidance after I use the sample, but make sure to shower it off after 8 hrs to see if that works. I understand that Amouage perfumes are out there and require a certain kind of taste, but this felt like it was pushing boundaries of polite society.

A little late commenting here, but I think this needs to be said because I feel so strongly about it. I’ve been trying Purpose the last couple days. This stuff is amazing! That is, if you drank arsenic and needed something that would undoubtedly make you throw up, this would be perfect! 😅 With a side effect of inducing migraines. That super synthetic overdosed akigalawood is absolutely disgusting. I hate it so much. So much. I don’t know how this note got popular. Synthetic disgusting sludge. Bleh! 🤮
Nope ... boring... derrivative... probably purpose would be the one I would chose just because I dont have an akigalawood heavy Quinten Bisch perfume... but that isnt my style so I will probably pass on all of them .. Amouage dissapoints again under the new regime... shocker!

@@RamseytheRam I heard the older ones are very good and much better then the newer reflection mans. If they had just kept up with the original quality they might not have not needed a R45 concentrate version.
Screw cap Mancera…I have the magnetic cap and I’m not digging it. I doubt screw cap would be that much better to me now. In fact, I don’t even like my Hindu Kush (Mancera).

reflection 45 is really good. really strong and projecting. waaaaaaaayyyy tooo expensive though
