Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all of your videos! I inherited a coin collection, and also have 9 FULL piggy banks from the last 7yrs of my daughter's to go through. Your videos have been priceless!!! 😁
Jesus Blueridge, no sooner than I opened a new roll from the bank than this 1972 DDO jump out at me, and it reminded me of this very video I viewed that you made, and decided to go back and view it again. Sure enough I was right in what I remembered about the 1972 that I in fact learned right here watching your video. I'm almost positive its the FS-104 everyone is looking for. To make sure, however, I'm going to Variety Vista to have a closer look of course before I do anything else with it. Turns out watching your videos my friend has proven to be very profitable for me... understanding what I'm looking at and the follow up reseach necessary to confirm what's been found. Just wanted you to know what your doing is helping hundreds if not thousands of us be better collectors. Thanks you buddy for all the information you've provided through the years. I can now say with a degree of certainty, that today I'm a better coin collector thanks to you, and to me and my family, that makes all the difference in the world! Take care and happy hunting !
thanks! Just learning coins. When I cleaned out my storage bunker last year, found a bunch of coins. Pennies from 1909 - 1980"s. Your vids are really helping me. thanks once again. Aloha, Hatchet.
Since I retire in 2013 I have find out how much fun it can be in coin searching inspired by , Blue Ridge Silver hound. I shall continue to enjoyed this newly found hobby.
Mr. Silverhound , Thanks for the update. I remember some 2 to 3 years ago when I began this journey, you were so instrumental in my developing an interest in the world of Numismatic. I even learned the technical word for "money" or for the study of currency in its many forms. Once again Mr. Silverhound, thank you for your commitment. Where would we novice be without you and the other professional.
I have a 1972 ddo where the "In God we trust" and Liberty has doubling. The person I got it from said it was fs105, but I need to get a dealer to look at it to check more accurately. The top part "In God we trust" can be seen without a loupe, so the doubling is nice on it. Been roll hunting awhile, hoping for a nice ddo or any the millions of errors that exist. I've recently found a 1983 penny that looks like a nail head in Lincolns ear an the smaller shaft of the nail goes twords Lincolns eye. Looks like a small nail embedded underneath the top layer of copper with the small end exposed at the eye... gotta find a good coin dealer to look at these, but it seems most are only interested in silver.. still a cool find.
Glad you are back. I heard about you from a friend. I have been throwing pennies into a 5 gallon jug 60 years ago all the way up until today but I never looked at them because I was just too busy but now I tipped The Jug over and got the pennies out or at least a handful and found some amazing finds. When I Unearthed these coins I wondered why I kept a book of 1959 pennies to 1975. Wow I put these pennies in the book in 1976 and they look almost new and there are some beauties from 1959 to 1975. The only one I'm missing is the 2024s. I found a big bag of silver quarters and 100 64 Kennedy half dollars but the pennies are where the money is. Thanks for everything and I will see you later.
I hate saying this, I just got one of these from dollar store. The slight Off centering made me look into it. I see the cud on the rim. Slightly doubled all over obverse. Lots going on on reverse to. Dollar store just delivered. I would say it's low ms, but ms R.B. Tall letters on reverse. In 3.5 year's of looking at every coin, this 72 caught my eye tonight. Have a good day, happy hunting. P.S. I just filled a album tonight with a 70d large over small date also. Thanks dollar store!
Mr Silverhound , I was offered to pay 1000 dollars for at least 12 Indian Head and Lincoln cents dates ranging from 1800s to 1909. They were protected and I also noticed that they may have been cleaned. On the 1909 Indian Head cent reverse , the word ONE CENT is spelled ONE CNNT. The set is displayed in a card with each cent separate. Should I buy them in your opinion?
my name is Dwayne I had come across a lot of coins I've been looking at and put them on the site called let go I really don't know what I'm doing if you could give me tips and can locate my coine depreciated thank you I've learned a lot from you show thanks
i have a 1972 penny that got stamped slightly off center. Like the border of the coin is thick on one side and thin on the other. Is this anything special
That's awesome j now found this video I found a nice shiney red 72 no mint mark with the raised rim on the left side. I looked at it closely and I see a thick doubling on the top and around the date. Not like the wild one first one but I Def see it. I wasn't sure if there was another dd on the 72 worth anything but I Def will get a second opinion on it and if it's legit I'll have it sent off. 🤗
Thank you for that wealth of information. I now know what to look for the easy way to determine close and wide AM. The coins were all looking close then wide. I enjoy going through my coins. I think I have something and now I know how to look for the initials to know if AM are close or not but where do I take them to get money for the coin. What do I do after I find these coins. Great topics...
Love how this guy is a professional and took him hundreds of thousands of pennies to go threw before finding one, and I the comments so far there is 300 plus of the "same exact coin"
I found this same one in better shape, the same day I found a 1969 ddo. I haven't sent them to PCGS yet. after almost 3 years if looking for them two I found them both the same day . this 72 has the date in God we trust and the rim cut , as well the letters liberty! it's a beuty! thank to you and your camara girl. for all the information and how to go bout finding this Lincoln cents. thank you!
Great video BRSH,the doubling over the eye of Lincoln gives it away I have one in my collection looking to put it up to auction soon as you said 100's and thousands to find it out of all I've looked threw finally a pay off.
I have found lots of 1972 machine double coins and I just found the 1972 double die 004! I've matched it up to all of the pictures. I'm extremely lucky I almost passed right by it.
I have about 10 penny's that don't have a mint mark and one dd 1992 . And yes I am new at this coin hunting were to start lol I have coffee cans full of coins and sliver coins .I love your videos thank you for any advice. Walter
What about a 72 with dies misaligned? I have one where the reverse is struck dead center but the obverse is off by about 5%, enough that the rim edge is barely a paper thin ridge between 6 and 8 o'clock on the bottom left, it is very clearly off center and it caught my attention before I saw it was a 72. From my experience and studies, when a coin is off center, its off center on the front AND the back. I have never seen one off center on one side only!! To me this indicates one side of the die set had shifted position in respect to having been aligned with its matching reverse die meaning one of the key-way locks used to lock the die in place either wasn't secured properly or just got worn out. Maybe I'm making more out this than it really is, but is weird and unique to me!!! Thoughts please?!!!!
I have thousands of Lincoln pennies . wondering how 2 tell if I need graded all them are mint all different colors and also more and more than I know what 2 do with. i won this all off 24 hr auction in kamloops BC
Some of what keeps me coming back to listen to your show is when you mention your up and coming different show ideas and, your give away. Which really should be coupled with some sort of contest idea where everyone might want to join in. That keeps people wanting to come back to see whats going on. Just some ideas that might help your ratings buddy. TAke care!
I had a 1972 double die penny years ago and it was double so good you could see it very plain in the date and lettering the picture you show here must be a low grade double die because it was hard to see the doubling I didn't find the coin in change I brought it for 72.00 in the early 70s and it was stolen along with the rest of my colection in the late 70s!
I got a few of these also just found a 1953D Roosevelt dime and a 1967 penny and I got a 1970 dime but it's brown maybe all copper front and back it's not dirt because it kinda got a shiny tint to it any info ?
I am a young Cameroonian living in Russia I have a small collection of penny one cent america ranging from 1959 to 2010 and also a penny of 1979 One cent Canada and one dime from 1970 to 2008.
i have that coin and others how do i know their worth anything? and is it bad to clean them?thanks love this but its screwing me up i cant spend my change i am like penny hoarding
I have this very coin...I've had for a while..because I liked the way it looks...I've been studying in my wheatbacks..and really haven't checked out any if my 70s, till today..I wish I knew how to pur a picture in this page
Perhaps you can help me. I have had a 1972 penny since I was about 9 years old (1971). Something was very strange about it so I kept it. The coin stores in those days told me it's just a penny but I am sure they are all wrong. I just came across the penny as I was going through a box in my closet today. First, it is a different color - its much lighter in color. Second, it seems to be considerably thinner (not as a result of wear). The penny is in decent condition. Third, while I don't yet have a scale, it seems considerably lighter than another 1972 penny I compare it to (I ordered a scale). Fourth, the rim cud is almost nonexistent, again this is not from wear. Fifth, when I drop this penny on the granite counter top, it has a tinny sound, which is considerably different than every other penny of any other year that I have compared it to. The sound is very distinct. Any thoughts???
This opened up a whole new world for me after finding a 1944 weat penny ,i started rock hounding a month ago and the a weat penny falls out of my pocket on my bed ,ajgets are on hold tell further notice would definatly like to see a documentory on the paper work form and what steps most importent to remember somthing to refere to like how to do get for starters ,well appreciate info on couns never thought i would be that geeky guy but here i qm excited and dorky as hell .
yes i have a 1972. d.d.r. in a red listserv color but i have a problem because i live in the east coast and and thiers no coin shops around here that deals in pennys just gold and siver. could you help me ???
Wow that graded like that; very promising for a full red example, that I believe i have.. great video on the type 4, not to be confused with the DDO3 thay does not have that rim cud; and i think that it displays a lot more doubling on Liberty..
