Now that was an epic view. Sounds good to watch the little details that the soldiers have such as their weapons and the terrain around them. You can admire the beauty of the Total War engine just by getting an even closer look at the battles like this. I really need to try this sometime in one of the games.
@lolyjoly123 In Rome and Medieval II you can click on a unit and press delete. You can also navigate the screen around that one person to be a kind of 3rdish 1stish person mode. You can't use the scroll to switch between units though, so you'll almost always get to watch someone with a banner over them or a command unit.
They sure did a great job on this game. You need a fairly powerful machine to really take advantage of the awesome battle graphics. Most games are like that now anyway.
@XxModernDayRaiderxX Not in my computer cuz when i press delete it camera goes right to that unit, that i selected and when the archers fire i can see the arrows flying in 1st person. Do you have it on pc or mac?
@gaminkalv damn skippy! they had too because archers usually werent made for melee fights so they had to attempt to kill the enemy anyway possible even if it means killing loads of your comrades
@lolyjoly123 if you press delete key while archer unit selected on rome and medieval it'll follow the arrow volley but not 1 individual arrow like as cool as this
There was a first person mode for projectiles in the first Medieval Total War. It was one of my favourite things about MTW. I don't think it was there for Rome though.
@TheSvenproductions Not true. I have both Rome & Medieval II Total War and, when press "delete" on your keyboard it goest 1st person view. Just telling :D
It doesn't work in naval...:(. Or at least I thought you could see the cannon balls or through a soldiers eyes, instead of seeing the inside of the ships.
i mean...they make an epic game like shogun 2, stunning visuals, huuuuge battles, customization everywhere, and then, srsly, they can't make a freakkkin arrow turn around it's own axis? ARROWS DON'T FLY LIKE THAT ! nonetheless, truly great game, detailed, good looking, and flawless in most aspects. Well done !
Man sucks for that guy...just standing all the way at the back minding his own business, gets arrowed!

@lolyjoly123 As far as I know, 1st person mode can only be accessed in Empire, Napoleon, and Shogun 2.
Why doe it seem that my arrows always miss?
I once followed an arrow straight into the head of the enemy general. It was pretty damn funny.
You can also go into another view by pressing DEL in medieval
@TheSvenproductions

In real battles would they really shoot arrows in clusters of their own men?
how do you go to a 1st player view ?
You guys do know that arrows don't really fly straight like that, right?
@gaminkalv As long as they killed more of the enemy the commanders didn't care.
haha nice. it works with muskets too
It´s a cool feature, to bad you can´t use it in the replays, where it would make the most sense.
Arrow in the Knee. Accomplished.
@TheSvenproductions It works in Rome also
haha thats brilliant, ive always tried to do that with just pausing it
@TheSvenproductions You can sort of do it in MTW2
how did you do thath?

It doesn't work in naval...:(. Or at least I thought you could see the cannon balls or through a soldiers eyes, instead of seeing the inside of the ships.
